This is a bug; the DOI error was caused by your subsequent edit, not by the one the bot linked to. That said, both the DOI error and the date error that your original edit caused (and which likely led to the bot notifying you about the wrong edit) were fixed by now. Page: The bot said there was a missing ref on the Peach Bottom Nuclear Generating Station article. It was really an issues of blank spaces in a sentence and not a reference.

Diff: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?diff=723010543

Comment/question: Even thought this was a false positive, please continue the good work. I appreciate it.

Geraldshields11 (talk) 20:54, 1 June 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for the notification; ReferenceBot has extremely few false positives, but this indeed is one. A930913 may want to check this out. Huon (talk) 00:12, 7 June 2016 (UTC)

Comment/question: There is a message that said my edit "caused an unsupported parameter error". I checked the edits I made along with their references, and I do not see the error. The error message stated that if there is a possible false positive to message you.

ShayTown33 (talk) 00:46, 11 June 2016 (UTC)

It seems the bot got the wrong editor. The unknown parameter error was caused by the edit after yours. Huon (talk) 15:39, 11 June 2016 (UTC)

SUGGESTION: Where your bot says: :List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page: you currently follow that with excerpted text formatted as bullet points. I would like to suggest that you replace the bullet point syntax (leading asterisk) with code text syntax (leading space) for improved visibility of the excerpt. Example:

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
  • 2003/dittert.shtml] ''Hylas in the Classical Style'' by Stefanie E. Dittert, Professor Buttigieg]

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks,

To me this simple change just makes the problem being flagged that much easier to see. Koala Tea Of Mercy (KTOM's Articulations & Invigilations) 17:59, 29 June 2016 (UTC)

A930913 may want to check this out. It seems ReferenceBot warned you about the wrong issue. There was a "Vancouver style error" (something about the use of initials in the author names) in the diff the bot linked to, not a PMC error. Fixed by Floatjon. Huon (talk) 20:19, 30 September 2016 (UTC)

Comment/question: The math is wrong I can't site a study that has the correct math what should I do the number don't add up it is just that simple this is no belief on my part

StephanBorzman (talk) 03:55, 17 February 2017 (UTC)

@StephanBorzman: ReferenceBot was not posting about your math (which happened to be wrong but that's unrelated), but about your deletion of <ref name="IPCC-2001"> in . The named reference was reused elsewhere on the page by only referring to the name. Your deletion caused the error message at . Your edit has been reverted so the issue is fixed. Comment/question: The robot detected I had removed a reference. I actually replaced it with another one, as the first one was referring to an interim condition and I was providing the final condition in my text. Furthermore, the original reference was actually unrelated to the comment that it was allegedly supporting, but was an article about the subject in general, and was also a link to a Daily Mail article which is not a trustworthy reference.

INeilC (talk) 21:24, 18 March 2017 (UTC)

Hi INeilC, ReferenceBot detected that you had changed one copy of the reference, removing its name. The reference was reused in another place on the page and a big red reference error was appearing in the reference list. It was not a comment on whether the reference should be changed, only that the change caused an error on the page. StarryGrandma (talk) 21:45, 20 March 2017 (UTC)

Diff: Sorry, obviously I need to look into this further, I don't know how to give a link to the diff.

Comment/question: Sorry, can't see how I broke any link.

Groogle365 (talk) 12:04, 21 March 2017 (UTC)

Groogle365, you deleted a named reference that was used elsewhere in the article, resulting in a big red error message. Happily, a bot fixed the error for you. – Jonesey95 (talk) 13:16, 21 March 2017 (UTC)

Comment/question:

I don't know anything about the terminology "ReferenceBot", "link to the diff", "unsupported parameter error", "false positive". The reference I submitted, http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/greenvilleonline/obituary.aspx?n=ralph-johnson&pid=183036201&fhid=23160 , shows information regarding the death of Ralph Johnson of The Impressions. I wouldn't know why Wikipedia shouldn't be able to accommodate that reference.

107.185.97.165 (talk) 23:50, 11 April 2017 (UTC)

Your reference used the parameter |utl= instead of |url=. Another editor fixed it for you. – Jonesey95 (talk) 04:42, 12 April 2017 (UTC)
