Unblock request - July 2025

ByzantineIsNotRoman (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log) • SI)
Request reason:
I am genuinely sorry for all the rude and disruptive behavior and sockpuppetry I participated in in the past. I understand the frustration much of the Wikipedia community had against me, as I have come to realize with more maturity just how annoying and frustrating dealing with sock puppets and abusers must be. I assure you I will not do such things anymore. It was childish and foolish, it was a mistake and I regret it.
If I am fortunate and this request is considered, I obviously am well aware that I will be on thin ice to say the least; but seriously, you have my word that if you give me one more chance and just allow me to demonstrate and show that I am willing to make constructive edits and not edit war or partake in any such childish behavior, I promise you will not regret it. When I was originally blocked in late 2023, I felt singled out and cornered by other editors, which definitely contributed to my defensive posture. I suppose it’s worth noting that I was also still in high school at that time, and I am now (I hope) more mature than I was back then. Once again, you have my word that if I am given one more chance and am unblocked, I will demonstrate that I am here to build an encyclopedia. Any and all disputes and disagreements I have in the future will be addressed on talk pages rather than me edit warring or engaging in other unconstructive behavior. I genuinely have a passion for history and spreading historical knowledge in my heart, which is a big part of the reason why I have recently begun pursuing a history degree. I should also emphasize that while this is not an excuse or cop out of any kind; I was not previously familiar with most of Wikipedia’s policies, but now I believe I have done research on them and familiarized myself with them enough to contribute positively. I understand why those reading this might still harbor annoyance, anger and resentment towards me for my past behavior, but I am simply asking for one more chance, a chance to at least demonstrate that I have changed and can and will contribute positively and constructively to building an encyclopedia. All I am asking for is a second chance to demonstrate that I can and WILL contribute positively and not engage in edit warring from here on out. ByzantineIsNotRoman (talk) 00:20, 1 August 2025 (UTC)
Accept reason:
I'm willing to give you another chance. I would point you to dispute resolution in case you become engaged in an intractable dispute again, so you can avoid edit warring. Good luck. 331dot (talk) 08:05, 1 August 2025 (UTC)
August 2025

{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. 331dot (talk) 08:25, 2 August 2025 (UTC)So, I didn't see that this was actually a ban, not a just a block(the block log didn't say so, just your user page, and I didn't look at it). I have to reinstate the block, but I am going to start a community discussion to ask that the ban be removed. I'm sorry about this. 331dot (talk) 08:27, 2 August 2025 (UTC)
- I appreciate your effort in giving me another chance, truly. ByzantineIsNotRoman (talk) 17:24, 4 August 2025 (UTC)
