How to propose deletion
Although I "fixed" the article you brought to the Teahouse, I didn't really answer your "how to" question and that won't help you in the future. WP:PROD gives instructions for proposing a deletion. To make that task easier (as well as many other tasks), have you considered enabling WP:TWINKLE? It's an incredibly useful tool for (1) proposing deletion (prod), (2) nominating for deletion (AfD), (3) reverting multiple consecutive edits, (4) warning or welcoming other editors, (4) adding maintenance tags to articles, (5) nominating for speedy deletion (CSD), (6) requesting page protection, (7) reporting an editor for vandalism or edit-warring, and (8) reporting a possible sock-puppet (SPI). Hope that helps! Schazjmd (talk) 17:58, 28 January 2025 (UTC)
- I will look at the Twinkle tool. It seems helpful. Once again, Thank you so much. Do you recommend anything specific to get used to the back-end of Wikipedia? Thank you, CF-501 Falcon (talk) 18:30, 28 January 2025 (UTC)
- I spent my first active year reading everything—following every link someone mentioned in a discussion, going through tons of talk pages, digging into archives. Other than that, the only thing that helps is time (experience). There's the written back-end (policies, guidelines, etc.) to learn, but also the communal back-end (how the community interprets and applies those policies, guidelines, etc.). You only have to get as involved as you want. Anyway, feel free to ping me anytime you have a question, I'll do my best to help. Schazjmd (talk) 18:48, 28 January 2025 (UTC)
- Okay then, Thank you for the advice. I will definitely ping you if I have any questions. CF-501 Falcon (talk) 01:16, 29 January 2025 (UTC)

Hello, CF-501 Falcon!
Having an article draft declined at Articles for Creation can be disappointing. If you are wondering why your article submission was declined, please post a question at the Articles for creation help desk. If you have any other questions about your editing experience, we'd love to help you at the Teahouse, a friendly space on Wikipedia where experienced editors lend a hand to help new editors like yourself! See you there! Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 04:26, 21 March 2025 (UTC) |
- Pinging @Silverseren, who helped.
- Hello @SafariScribe, Thank you for reviewing the draft. I would argue that Roy is notable. She has received significant coverage from Independent reliable sources. WP:POLOUTCOMES says "Sub-cabinet officials (assistant secretary, commissioner, etc.) are usually considered notable". She also meets WP:GNG. If I was to push it, she technically counts for WP:NPOL too. The Governor of Massachusetts appoints the Secretary, even thought they aren't members of legislative bodies, they can bring bill and such.
- This office is notable. There are multiple article for Cabinet member of politicians. (Rick Sullivan, Edward A. Flynn, John Cogliano, Jennifer Davis Carey, Thomas G. Kelley, etc.) Thank you, CF-501 Falcon (talk · contribs) 11:40, 21 March 2025 (UTC)
- Since SafariScribe has been actively editing in the past day and has responded to others on their talk page, but not to either of our inquiries, I've gone ahead and cleaned up the draft and moved it to mainspace. I suppose this is a teaching moment on how pointless WP:AfC is and how reviewers there actively flout following the rules listed at WP:AFCPURPOSE. Sorry that that's a lesson you had to go through. SilverserenC 21:09, 21 March 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you so much. I am extremely grateful, not many senior(ish) editors are helpful. I am in the process of trying to become an AfC reviewer, I will keep in mind the rules at AFCPURPOSE (If they give me access to AFCH).
- Do you think I should just start moving my drafts to the main space (skip AFC), mainly if I am confident of their notability? Thank you, CF-501 Falcon (talk · contribs) 21:55, 21 March 2025 (UTC)
- Yeah, I see no reason not to move directly to mainspace once you're sure everything's good to go. I've seen many a AfC reviewer admit that that space, at least at this point years later, is largely used to contain spam and promotional content and prevent it from going directly to mainspace. It's not really there for people making legitimate article content. SilverserenC 22:02, 21 March 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you, that makes sense. Draft:H55 has been languishing in the backlog. Do you mind moving it or telling me how to do it? Thank you, CF-501 Falcon (talk · contribs) 22:05, 21 March 2025 (UTC)
- You just need to click the Move button at the top of the article and change the Draft parameter to (Article). Do note that companies have much stricter notability requirements with WP:NCORP (which I am not as familiar with), so don't be disheartened if someone does try to take it to AfD. SilverserenC 22:10, 21 March 2025 (UTC)
- Okay, wasn't sure if that worked to move things to mainspace. Maybe it will be taken to AfD, then I will plead my case there. Thank you! CF-501 Falcon (talk · contribs) 22:14, 21 March 2025 (UTC)

- Glad you're enjoying yourself.
Quick question: I just glanced at Ellen Roy Herzfelder and I'm confused about why you refer to her as "Roy" throughout instead of "Herzfelder"? Schazjmd (talk) 22:26, 21 March 2025 (UTC)
- I am confused too. The sources I started writing with used "Roy" not "Herzfelder" (example). I checked the others, the majority use Herzfelder. I will change it, Good catch. CF-501 Falcon (talk · contribs) 22:34, 21 March 2025 (UTC)
- I wonder if it's a maiden name scenario where Roy is her original last name, but she moved it to her middle name after getting married and taking the last name of her husband. SilverserenC 22:39, 21 March 2025 (UTC)
- It most likely is, her husbands name is Bruce Herzfelder. How would I check? CF-501 Falcon (talk · contribs) 22:45, 21 March 2025 (UTC)
- While looking for a wedding announcement, I came across this newspaper blurb, which says she was using "Roy Herzfelder" as her last name. Schazjmd (talk) 22:49, 21 March 2025 (UTC)
- Now that's a rare and useful sight, a news article explicitly about a subject's name differences. I've only had that happen once before and that one was primary due to being written by the subject, so not even as good as yours there as a secondary source. SilverserenC 22:52, 21 March 2025 (UTC)
- Huh, I will set it to {{DEFAULTSORT:Roy Herzfelder, Ellen}}. Thank you, CF-501 Falcon (talk · contribs) 22:53, 21 March 2025 (UTC)
- Should Roy be listed as nee. ? CF-501 Falcon (talk · contribs) 23:00, 21 March 2025 (UTC)

Tagging pages for speedy deletion
Hello, CF-501 Falcon,
I hope you are doing well today. I just wanted to encourage you to always post a notification on an editor's User talk page when you tag one of their page creations for any type of deletion (CSD, PROD, AFD/RFD/CFD/etc.). This is easy to do if you use Twinkle to do all of your page tagging and make sure that in your Twinkle Preferences a) you have checked off the box for "Notify page creator" and b) you have checked off the boxes for all of the different CSD criteria. Then, Twinkle will take care of the notices for you.
Thank you for all of your contributions to the project. Liz Read! Talk! 22:03, 4 April 2025 (UTC)
- @Liz, I am so sorry. I forgot Twinkle could do that. It was my fault for not informing the author. Thank you for reminding me, I will remember for next time. Thank you, CF-501 Falcon (talk · contribs) 00:48, 5 April 2025 (UTC)
Advice on multiple infoboxes?
Hello @CF-501 Falcon. Just wanted to say thanks for your contributions to the two articles that you accepted for submission through AfC. I am currently working on an article which I would value your input on. It covers two crashes and minor landing incident at the 2001 Biggin Hill Airshow. I have attempted to use three separate infoboxes at the start of the article like on my previous submissions, however as each accident is technically separate but still necessary for inclusion in the article as a whole, I was wondering how it would be best to implement this? I assume it could be an infobox by the corresponding paragraph but I have not seen this in other articles on aviation disasters, nor have I found any articles that have multiple separate disasters to the same event.
(This is my first time posting on someone elses talk page, so if this is the wrong place to put this, I apologise in advance!)
Thanks for reading! 11wallisb (talk) 18:32, 18 May 2025 (UTC)
- @11wallisb, No problem, I am happy to help. I would advise against having all of them at the start, it would be better to have each next to the relevant crash. However,If each separate incident is notable, you can make 2 articles (for each of the crashes) then use 2001 Biggin Hill Airshow (once it gets moved to mainspace) as an overview page covering the entire airshow and the incident. Once I have some more time, I can try to find more sources for you. (Yes this is the proper way to use talk pages!) Best, CF-501 Falcon (talk · contribs) 19:28, 18 May 2025 (UTC)
- That's actually what I was thinking as well. I'm going to try to find an approach that works—this is my first time attempting an article of this scale, so it's a bit of a learning process. My plan was to write the article first and then work on structuring it afterward, though I’m not sure if that’s the best method.
- Since each of the crashes occurred on separate days of the event (June 2 and 3, 2001), I thought combining them into one article might help build a stronger case for notability.
- In any case, I’ve added a cleanup tag to highlight the issue, just in case the approach I take ends up needing adjustment. Thank you very much for the references—I don’t currently have access to the newspaper archives (Newspapers.com, I believe?), so those are incredibly helpful! 11wallisb (talk) 20:25, 18 May 2025 (UTC)
- @11wallisb, Sound great! I am happy to be of assistance. To access Newspapers.com, you will need to be EC (30 days and 500 edits) then go to the Wikipedia Library. Once there you can apply for access to Newspapers.com. Cheers, CF-501 Falcon (talk · contribs) 23:35, 18 May 2025 (UTC)
Help with finding images?
Hello @CF-501 Falcon! The article we spoke about before was accepted today! Just wanted to say thanks for your assistance and advice with sources and layouts! The reviewer recommended nominating the article for WP:GA status subject to paraphrasing changes. I am aware one of the requirements for GA is images. This is an area I am not experienced in, the copyright regulations surrounding them will require a bit of learning on my part. I was wondering if you would be open to assisting with finding some images for the article? (In your own time, of course!)
(As I am still very new to Wikipedia, the idea of submitting anything for something like GA is quite overwhelming!)
Thanks! 11WB (talk) 18:42, 4 June 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @11wallisb, and congratulations! A lack of images is fine if there are none, but they are appreciated. I am currently very busy, but I can help you once I am free. I would love to help you. Best, CF-501 Falcon (talk · contribs) 14:11, 5 June 2025 (UTC)
- That is great to hear! I look forward to working more on the article soon! Thanks! 11WB (talk) 15:01, 5 June 2025 (UTC)
Draft:Lodys
Hi CF-501 Falcon, you declined this because it is not in English, which is correct. However, even if is translated to English it is somewhat nonsense with no sources so in these situations it is best to at least include a notability decline so hopefully they do not translate it and resubmit because it will just be declined again. I hope that makes sense and thanks for your AfC work! S0091 (talk) 19:14, 12 June 2025 (UTC)
- @S0091, That makes a lot of sense. Thank you for the advice! That is how I learn after all. Thank you for all that you do. Best, CF-501 Falcon (talk · contribs) 19:17, 12 June 2025 (UTC)

Articles for Creation backlog drive

Hello CF-501 Falcon:
WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive in December!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than half a month of outstanding reviews from the current 2+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 December 2025 through 31 December 2025.
You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.
Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.
There is a backlog of over 3000 pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 06:07, 23 November 2025 (UTC)
- If you wish to opt-out of future mailings, please remove yourself from the mailing list or alternatively to opt-out of all massmessage mailings, you may add Category:Wikipedians who opt out of message delivery to your user talk page.
