Question from RandomWikipedian123 (01:17, 3 February 2026)

Hello, I am unsure of how to edit an article's name, could you help me please? --RandomWikipedian123 (talk) 01:17, 3 February 2026 (UTC)

Hi, @RandomWikipedian123, and very sorry for the late reply! To "edit" an article's name, please use the Move function in the "Tools" sidebar. This is only available to you if you have at least 10 edits and your account is at least three days old (which you should be). Chlod (top  contribs) 17:22, 7 February 2026 (UTC)
Hi, @Chlod, apology accepted, thank you for responding, noted. Have a good day. RandomWikipedian123 (talk) 21:51, 2 March 2026 (UTC)

Question from WhaleFarm (22:32, 12 February 2026)

Hello- thanks in advance for the mentoring. The regenerative reciever and super regand are on the same page. I've been cleaning them up, and saw that there had been a talk discussion years ago about splitting them, but the idea just died. I think they should be. as other than similar name, they have little in common. How do I get something to happen? What is protocol? How is the actual splitting done? --WhaleFarm (talk) 22:32, 12 February 2026 (UTC)

Hi, @WhaleFarm! Prior to splitting, please ensure that superregenerative detectors are notable in and of themselves. In other words, see if you can find at least three references that talk about superregenerative detectors in reputable scientific journals, or other reliable sources. If you want more discussion into a split, you can start a split discussion, though this isn't necessary. If you think that splitting the article would be uncontroversial, we encourage you to be bold and split the article yourself. It's a bit of a process, but the correct method of splitting means that attribution is preserved. If you get stuck at any point during the split, feel free to reply. Chlod (top  contribs) 02:53, 13 February 2026 (UTC)
IEEE alone shows 98 articles, most of the classic electronics books cover it. I'll look at the split article, thanks for the pointer, I'm still a bit unsure about how bold of steps to take. WhaleFarm (talk) 03:04, 13 February 2026 (UTC)
Everything on Step 5 should be fine. I suggest having a draft ready in your sandbox (or in the "Draft" namespace, e.g. Draft:Superregenerative detector) if you feel the need to expand the soon-to-be-newly-created article; just make sure that you follow #4: "Paste into the new article with edit summary Contents [[WP:SPLIT]] from [[''Source article name'']]; please see its history for attribution. and save the new article." Chlod (top  contribs) 03:19, 13 February 2026 (UTC)
I've updated the Regenerative circuit to get ready for a split, left a notice in the talk page.
I'd love your feedback. I think it is pretty well structured, and reasonably referenced.
I think being bold would have been reasonable, but this way I get experience with more of the WP workings. I'm still unclear about how the namespaces work, and moving between WhaleFarm (talk) 04:29, 17 February 2026 (UTC)
Great work, @WhaleFarm! I've added a {{split}} tag to the top of the article to notify users that someone has proposed a split of the page. I suggest leaving the discussion open for a few days and see if someone can chime in. If there's no comments (which sometimes happens), you're free to create the page on your own. Given that you have a lot of content to work off of already, I suggest just directly replacing the existing redirect at Superregenerative receiver with the newly-written content. Chlod (top  contribs) 06:42, 17 February 2026 (UTC)
no responses, so I did the split. I think I followed the proceedure, thanks for the help. I'd love you to take a look, any advice is appreciated. WhaleFarm (talk) 17:32, 23 February 2026 (UTC)
@WhaleFarm: Split was performed well and the article looks great. I've run some minor maintenance tasks on it (adding {{split article}} tags to the talk page, Manual of Style cleanup, attaching a new Wikidata item). Good job, and congrats on the new article! I see you used wikicleaner. Is there a tutorial or other info on what these tools are and how to use? I want to understand the ecosystem. WhaleFarm (talk) 15:17, 25 February 2026 (UTC)
@WhaleFarm: DraftCleaner is specifically something used for Articles for Creation, our article submission process for new users. It's a userscript, which is software written by community members to help out with various tasks on Wikipedia. You can find a full list of them at Wikipedia:User scripts/List. For the ones like DraftCleaner that work specifically on copy editing, check Wikipedia:User scripts/List § Copy editing. Chlod (top  contribs) 16:55, 25 February 2026 (UTC)

Question from AdventurerDavid226 (18:14, 15 February 2026)

Hello! How do I create a citation? --AdventurerDavid226 (talk) 18:14, 15 February 2026 (UTC)

Hi, @AdventurerDavid226! I see you're using the visual editor; how to create citations there should be detailed in Help:Introduction to referencing with VisualEditor/1. Let me know if you have any further questions! Chlod (top  contribs) 15:59, 16 February 2026 (UTC)
Thanks for creating Dupax del Norte anti-mining protests. I been wanting to create this for months now. Warm Regards, Miminity (Talk?) (me contribs) 12:10, 20 February 2026 (UTC)
Thanks, @Miminity! Thank you as well for uploading your photo; this article had been devoid of photos for a few weeks until just a few days ago. Chlod (top  contribs) 13:18, 20 February 2026 (UTC)

Question from MelAddey (15:00, 17 March 2026)

Hello! I don't want to edit as such (conflict of interest) but I would like to ask a few pages to include my historical fiction novels where appropriate. Is there a clearly formatted way I should do this? I submitted one request to The Fragrant Concubine page (talk section) as I have a novel about her. --MelAddey (talk) 15:00, 17 March 2026 (UTC)

Hi, @MelAddey, and thanks for reaching out. Indeed, you are expected to use COI edit requests. Ideally, it should follow a "please change X to Y" format, to make it easier on the reviewing editor. It seems your discussion now has a reply on it, please reply accordingly so that your request can be processed further. Thanks! Chlod (top  contribs) 11:17, 19 March 2026 (UTC)
Thank you, I replied and hopefully didn't make a mess of it so will learn from what is required for next time. How likely is it to be able to request a wikipedia page for myself, do you think? I have written and published 20 books (some self-published, some then picked up by a publisher) which have been well reviewed/won awards, I have been featured on BBC radio and in newsprint... is it likely? Anything that would really help tip the balance? MelAddey (talk) 14:01, 19 March 2026 (UTC)
