Information icon Please do not introduce links in actual articles to draft articles, as you did to Roberta Perkins. Since a draft is not yet ready for the main article space, it is not in shape for ordinary readers, and links from articles should not go to a draft. Such links are contrary to the Manual of Style. These links have been removed. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 14:29, 22 June 2024 (UTC)

Your submission at Articles for creation: Katherine Cummings (July 14)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by S0091 was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
What she has written or said cannot be used to establish notability. I did find a NYT article that has a bit about her early life and education (footnote #2).
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Thoughts

Hi Clareifications (great name!) I did do some digging around but was not able to find in-depth coverage about Cummings. It's usually brief mentions, interviews/her comments or her writings. If you cannot find in-depth coverage about her, you might try to find sources about her book and create an article about the book instead where you can include some additional biographical information about her. See WP:NBOOK; it might meet #2 but you still need some other sources so you can develop an article. Either way, Casa Susanna (film) could use expansion if you are inclined and I think it would be fair to mention her there along with couple others that are frequently mentioned in sources about the film/place. Katherine Cummings

@Clareifications: Did you see that DaffodilOcean got Katherine Cummings into shape as a full article? I think getting it started is worth a small pat on the back – when I look back on the stubs I started in 2001–2002 and see how they've grown, I guess it's like seeing one's children grow up into independent adults! You might find it helpful to compare your draft to the current article to get a sense of how a draft or stub can be fleshed out. (And thank you DaffodilOcean for all your work on this!) ClaudineChionh (she/her · talk · email · global) 11:50, 3 June 2025 (UTC)
