Hi

Hey, are you from Chennai? I see you are contributing a lot to the Rapid Transit articles relating to Chennai. Maybe you could be incharge of all those articles while I take over Bengaluru and Mumbai?

I can talk in English, Hindi, Tamil, Marathi, Kannada and Bengali, but writing is limited to Enlgish, Hindi/Marathi and little Bengali. Tamil is my mother-tongue, but I'm horrible at it. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 11:57, 25 February 2009 (UTC)

It is basically to allow visitors to easily get to the other topics related to the current one. have a look at these: Template:Bangalore topics and Template:India topics. It can go beyond 20, it can go on forever if you wish. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 08:20, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

User page

Hey dude, how do you like my new user page? --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 11:58, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

WOIGRM

User:Rsrikanth05/WOIGRM

We need to do some listing of stuff there. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 15:32, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

Well, it basically is going to be for those articles like Hindu-Arabic Numerals, which two-years ago was unjustly and hastily renamed to Arabic Numerals due to the latter being more 'common' among US residents. It basically is to remove such bloopers. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 15:39, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

Added 2 articles to the list. Also, I need to know what more can be done. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 14:48, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

Oh, and those images I think you uploaded abt Chennai Monorail, MRT corridor, et all, here is a way to prevent their deletion. use the info, I've used on these images. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 14:53, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

RBI

Well, you know how the Americans think they're the only ones alive on this planet, so most of the things online, go according to their whims and fancies.
So, I thought, let's be a bit fair.
RBI, redirects to Run Batted In, which as we all know is a baseball term, and baseball is an American sport.
Sometime back, a vote was held to redirect it to the disambig page. Someone said, English is NOT a primary language of India, and hence there should be preference to non-Indian artices.
The Americans voted and made the article redirect to Run Batted In, so I feel, we should all have another vote.
So, please vote, on whether you support or oppose the redirect to RBI (disambiguation) rather than Run batted in.
The earlier debate can be found at Talk:RBI (disambiguation).
The new poll can be found at Talk:RBI

Hey there, I just wanted to know your opinions about the following difference between two edits regarding Transport in India.
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Transport_in_India&diff=276272620&oldid=276151222 I edited the article yesterday, and Edward321, a brainless git, who knows nothiong about India, edited it saying it was better, but undid everything I had done.
His edit is on the left, and mine is on the right. I rolled-back his edit today morning. Just have a look and let me know which is better.

Vehicle Registration

Hey dude, do you know which section o the Motor Vehicles Act state number plates should be in English? I've been trying to find it, but I couldn't. Here's a link to MV Act ; http://www.vakilno1.com/bareacts/MotorVehiclesAct/Motor-Vehicles-Act.htm

--Rsrikanth05 (talk) 11:34, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

Its not necessary the number plates should be in English. It can be in any Indian Language.

Coolguyche17 (talk) 15:32, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

After 5 ours of non-stop research, I finally found it. http://morth.nic.in/writereaddata/sublink2images/rule3_504189056765.pdf Phew.

BETL

I have renamed Hosur Road elev. exp. to BETL. Also, I have added an image to it. Just tell me how it is. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 13:55, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

Batlagundu

The name of a priest is written in this article called "Batlagundu". Is this ok and as per the wikipedia five pillars ?

Kbala1055 (talk) 06:50, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

There's nothing wrong in writing about any priest or saints. But this article "Batlagundu" has to be rewritten to rectify the grammatical errors.

A revert

I assume that this revert of my edit was an accident? Acalamari 17:42, 28 March 2009 (UTC)

Hell yeah! I clicked cancel, guess it dint get cancelled. Coolguyche17 (talk) 18:26, 28 March 2009 (UTC)

That's fine then; I've left this edit summary in another edit to mention this. Thank you for clarifying. Happy editing. Acalamari 18:53, 28 March 2009 (UTC)

Transport and Transportation

As per WP:ENGVAR, this article should use Indian English and not American English. The word Transportation is not used as a noun in Indian English but as a verb, and thus the line: "The Chennai Rapid Bus Transit Ways (RBTW) is a part of the Medium-term and Long-term Transport Scheme proposed in the Second Master Plan by CMDA." sounds correct as opposed to having Transportation. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 10:40, 8 April 2009 (UTC)

Incorrect capitalisation of pages

You moved: Electrophoretic_mobility_shift_assay to Electrophoretic_Mobility_Shift_Assay - see: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Electrophoretic_mobility_shift_assay&action=history

I think this is wrong because you only need to capitalise the letters when you use the acronym. That is, you start of calling something "electrophoretic mobility shift assay", then compress it to EMSA for short. That does not mean that when you expand it again, it becomes "Electrophoretic Mobility Shift Assay". If you capitalised any other pages in the same way, please reverse them. ----Seans Potato Business 14:12, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

Chennai Elevated Expressway Categorization

Hey, any specific reason for this edit on removing the "future" category? Srikanth t 07:15, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

I guess its unnecessary categorization. But if you still wanna do it, mabbe u can try creating a category specific for India and add these in that? :) Coolguyche17 (talk) 07:26, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

Infobox Bus transit

Help me understand this. You have added a parameter for "lines" and I can't see any difference in possible usage from "routes"? Secondarywaltz (talk) 22:15, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

"Routes" was used to mention the starting and ending point of the lines in some articles, so I thought the "No. of Lines" is missing and added the parameter "lines" Coolguyche17 (talk) 04:50, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
Yes some people do that - but it is improper use of an infobox. "Routes" should just be the number of routes and the details should be in a table within the body of the article. Another bad example of this is when someone enters every kind of bus used under "fleet", instead of just the number of vehicles in the fleet, with details elsewhere. I think there is enough flexibility without needing two parameters for route/line numbers in the infobox. Viva (bus rapid transit) is an example of a BRT system that gives the basic outlines in the infobox and extensive information aboout operations, lines and stations in other places. (It may not be a great article, but that is how to use the infobox). Can you imagine how large that infobox would be if route and other details were there as well. What if there are 100 routes? Secondarywaltz (talk) 14:26, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
P.S. Every other BRT system in India except Chennai BRTS uses Template:Infobox Public transit. Perhaps that would satisfy your needs better and would be consistent with the others. Secondarywaltz (talk) 17:35, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

AWB

Hey buddy... I have permissions to use AWB, but I haven't quite got the hang of it yet. Can you please tell me how you made those edits, like to BETL, Bangalore CRS, etc. using AWB ? --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 18:27, 31 August 2009 (UTC)

It is quite easy. After loging in to wiki thru AWB, make a list of articles... You can do so by typing in the category or any other source. Then check the edits u wanna make in the right tabs. Once you are done with selecting the kinda edits u wanna do, go to the last tab saying "Start" and click the start button. Thats it.. then u'll know wat to do Coolguyche17 (talk) 18:36, 31 August 2009 (UTC)

Okay, thanks. I still haven't got it, but I'll try and see if I can learn. :D --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 07:03, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
