Please help me with editing protected articles on Wikipedia that whose talk pages are not reviewed periodically, I have news and can't introduce them. I am from the Spanish Wikipedia and I used to IP edit on here. Thanks to yours Sir/Madame who assist me. How many edits do I need here to be able to edit protected pages? Thanks!
CoryGlee (talk) 19:10, 10 July 2019 (UTC)
- How many edits you need to edit protected pages depends on what type of protection the page is under. That link should answer that part of your question. If a page is protected and you want to suggest or request an edit, you can use the {{Edit semi-protected}} or {{Edit fully-protected}} templates on the talk page. Even if the talk page isn't well-watched, the edit request category is. You can also ask for help on the helpdesk. ~ ONUnicorn(Talk|Contribs)problem solving 19:29, 10 July 2019 (UTC)

Welcome CoryGlee!
I'm Ad Orientem, one of the other editors here, and I hope you decide to stay and help contribute to this amazing repository of knowledge.

| If you need further help, you can: | or you can: | or even: |
Alternatively, leave me a message at my talk page or type {{helpme}} here on your talk page and someone will try to help.
There are many ways you can contribute to Wikipedia. Here are a few ideas:

|
To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own personal sandbox for use any time. It's perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}} on your user page. By the way, seeing as you haven't created a user page yet, simply click here to start it.
Please remember to:
- Always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the
button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes ~~~~at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to your talk page, and a timestamp. - Leave descriptive edit summaries for your edits. Doing so helps other editors understand what changes you have made and why you made them.
A brownie for you!

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic in Uganda

A tag has been placed on Category:Deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic in Uganda requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read! Armenia/Azerbaijan discretionary sanctions
This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have shown interest in Armenia, Azerbaijan, or related conflicts. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Curbon7 (talk) 05:33, 27 October 2020 (UTC)Alert from WikiProject Current Events
Hello. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Current events format is currently being updated. However, one new change is a section for "Current discussions". The Portal:Current events has debates all the time to determine if things are notable for the portal (international news) or if they are better suited for a place like 2020 in the United States. In the past, small 'edit wars' have taken place between editors over topics. This new section on the WikiProject is a new place where editors can discuss between each other and have an easy access to 'outside opinion' from other participates. Members in the Current Event WikiProject are welcome to invite other editors that have disagreements to start the discussion on the WikiProject. (Unlike RFC's, discussions about topics would be about 1 week or whenever the topic is no longer relevant from the WikiProject).
Thank you for reading and thank you for participating in the Current Event WikiProject! (Current Event WikiProject Coordinator) Elijahandskip (talk) 19:13, 11 November 2020 (UTC)
- Elijahandskip, Hi, thanks, where is the discussion taking place?, I couldn't find it. I have noticed several edit wars on the Portal, though never involving me, in fact, I hate arguments so much, that in case of a disagreement, it's me who prefers to back off, especially on Wikipedia where I take it lightly, not something important or part of my real life. The edit wars on the Portal between some users, whom I decline to name to not enter conflict, is frustrating and makes me grow tired of it, thus making me spend less time on it. CoryGlee (talk) 19:59, 11 November 2020 (UTC)
- The discussions will be here. I am still working on the formatting.Elijahandskip (talk) 21:34, 11 November 2020 (UTC)

Britney Spears
Hey CoryGlee! I don't believe we've ever interacted prior to the Spears article. I'm KyleJoan. Nice to meet you! I'm reaching out because I had concerns about how a phrase in your original inclusion was identical to the text in the referenced CNN piece (i.e., the description following the quote). Wikipedia:Copying text from other sources has all of the information on why editors must not do this, so I thought I'd send it to you. The inclusion itself was very important to the article; it just would have been safer to tweak the phrasing a little more to avoid any copyright questions. Hope that helps! Non-attributed translations
Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you translated text from es:Reynaldo Pacheco to Reynaldo Pacheco. While you are welcome to translate Wikipedia content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing requires that you provide attribution to the contributor(s) of the original article. When translating from a foreign-language Wikipedia article, this is supplied at a minimum in an edit summary on the page where you add translated content, identifying it as a translation and linking it to the source page. Sample wording for this is given here. If you forgot, or were not aware of this requirement, attribution must be given retroactively, for example:
NOTE: Content in the edit of 01:25, January 25, 2023 was translated from the existing French Wikipedia article at [[:fr:Exact name of French article]]; see its history for attribution.
Retroactive attribution may be added using a dummy edit; see Repairing insufficient attribution. It is good practice, especially if translation is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{translated page}} template on the talk page of the destination article. If you have added translated content previously which was not attributed at the time it was added, you must add attribution retrospectively, even if it was a long time ago. You can read more about author attribution and the reasons for it at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. JTtheOG (talk) 07:29, 23 August 2025 (UTC)
Regarding Thomas Burke (Final Destination)
Hello @CoryGlee! I have reviewed your article, Thomas Burke (Final Destination), as part of WP:NPP. Refs 4 through 22 are duplicates of the same source and need to be combined into one reference using Help:List-defined references. Thank you and happy editing! 11WB (talk) 00:57, 15 September 2025 (UTC)
- Hi 11wallisb I will work on the duplicated refs as soon as I can. There, I may need to check the "ref name" system for cases of book citations. They are unknown to me (I mean duplicated "sfn") and I will check any source that may be deemed as unreliable as well. I should be able to take the tags off tomorrow. Already late night here in Argentina.
- Thanks and a greeting to the UK. CoryGlee (talk) 01:31, 15 September 2025 (UTC)
- No worries, these aren't major issues! There is no deadline! Thank you for your contributions to the project and happy editing! 11WB (talk) 01:35, 15 September 2025 (UTC)

Your edit at Nat Gertler
Hi there! I see you just edited the article about me. I do think there's a problem with your edit, however; you list IDW as being the publisher of ComicMix.com. To the best of my knowledge, ComicMix.com is owned by ComicMix. IDW had for a while licensed the right to put out books of some of the material on the website, but that doesn't make them the publisher of the website itself.
While I'm thinking of it, the ComicMix site probably qualifies as a self-published site, and shouldn't be used for information about my livin' self, under WP:BLPSPS... and particularly not for date of birth, under WP:BLPDOB.
Could you review your edit and correct as you see appropriate? -- Nat Gertler (talk) 23:37, 4 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hi NatGertler. Yes, I didn't even source that... I just w-linked to the site redirect comicmix.com... I'll take a look and if primary or SP, I'll remove and tag. Have a nice night. CoryGlee (talk) 23:53, 4 October 2025 (UTC)
Ways to improve Daniele Rizzo
Hello, CoryGlee,
Thank you for creating Daniele Rizzo.
I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:
Thanks for creating the article. A few things call out that may require attenton
The filmography is lacking citations. Notability is borderline, relying on only one strong independent source (WDR) but clear about the content there. Award was for amateur film - not notable. Reference 3 looks like a PR/marketing source and should be replaced. Very limited independent reliable source coverage found and sources appear to be promotional or self-published material e.g YouTube commentary section seems promotional Expand the lead to a full introductory paragraph.
Does not clearly meet WP:ENTERTAINER or WP:ACTOR standards.

Tentative review of John Stone (sheriff)
Hey CoryGlee, nice job creating John Stone (sheriff). I see that our subject interests overlap a bit. I'm going to take a stab at reviewing your DYK, so I will probably be needing some feedback from you here or there. In the meantime, I've been having a problem sourcing the following quote excerpt in the lede, "appropriate at the time". I couldn't find it in the CBS reference you linked (currently #3, and I also checked #28), nor in an internet and ProQuest search. Would you mind addressing it somehow (either by adding a cite or reverting it to prose) or otherwise allowing me to do so? StonyBrook babble 00:48, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
- Hey StonyBrook, so nice to meet you; indeed. No problem. Sometimes (it happened to me in other DYKs) I paraphrase too much. From here I have badly paraphrased that Stone defends what his officers "were trained to do" and confuse it with Glick's statements too. I am fixing that right now. Feel free to ping me and ask me whatever, I'll be responding asap. Thanks for your help. CoryGlee 01:19, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
- And in case you want to intervene at the article, feel free to do so, we'll find a reviewer for sure. CoryGlee 01:21, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
- It looks like the picture is going to be a problem, so it probably should be removed. The article can pass without one. I tried searching for an alternative in Flickr Commons to no avail (that's where I found the picture for Austin Bat Cave). StonyBrook babble 02:26, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
- hi, problem with what? The license for the article itself or dyk?? It's a strong case of fair use. I agree, though, that it does not meet DYK criteria at all. CoryGlee 03:03, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
- if confused by above, I listed that myself for deletion... They are not the same one :-) CoryGlee 03:05, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
- Okay, awesome. Picture licensing is not my forté. Counting manually, your hook came out to exactly 200 characters, so it seems to be okay in that regard. However, I see no particular interest in spelling out the names, even the sheriff's; I think ambiguity equals more clicks. Therefore, I offer an alternative version with slightly different wording: ... that the parents of a Columbine High School student tried to get the sheriff on duty during the massacre there recalled over the police response, and for implying that their son was somehow involved? There is also a possibility for a shorter alternative hook that might be interesting: ... that the sheriff on duty during the Columbine High School massacre had previously lost his own son to suicide? Since everything else seems to be checking out, would it be okay if I went ahead and promoted your hook along with these other alternatives? StonyBrook babble 04:25, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
- I reviewed your submission, with a modified version of the first hook I presented above. Please add your feedback on the nomination page. Thanks again, StonyBrook babble 09:11, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
- No problem StonyBrook! I guess we'll need another reviewer for either hook, which I find interesting and have no objection at all. CoryGlee 12:06, 10 December 2025 (UTC)re

How is he a serial killer?
Besides the FBI and people using that source, many experts and other sources call him a spree killer. Look at just how many reliable sources I have added. Motherwell6 (talk) 17:37, 13 December 2025 (UTC)
- If you look up "Cunanan" "serial killer" on Google, and newspaper archives, you have significantly less reliable sources calling him a "serial killer" than a "spree killer". Motherwell6 (talk) 17:38, 13 December 2025 (UTC)

- Hi Paleface Jack; thanks for your input. Yes, I am going to add sources and verify (before the deadline) if the article was expanded x5 to take it to DYK. Feel free to add and edit as you please, needless to say. For now, quick search, I have not been able to retrieve any source in English. CoryGlee 02:06, 15 January 2026 (UTC)

- Yes, no problem. I'll look for other languages too, especially Italian. While he was not Italian, their parents were. I'll add some sociopolitical analysis that I found about him being the child of poor immigrants and what immigration meant at the time in Argentina. I'll add it tomorrow, surely. Thanks again. Don't hesitate to ask me whatever. CoryGlee 02:16, 15 January 2026 (UTC)
- No problem. Google Books, Newspapers.com, and Internet Archive are good resources. I would also check the Wikipiedia library as well cause sometimes they have things you can miss out on. I am working on my own article at the moment, expanding a GA on an Old West serial killer, so that might take more time from me, as tedious as that is, sifting through old newspapers and a history lecture. Help?
| This request for help from administrators has been answered. If you need more help or have additional questions, please reapply the {{admin help}} template, or contact the responding user(s) directly on their own user talk page. |
Please, can any administrator review Talk: Transgender. I am being the subject of constant pinging by a user who I disagree with (POV and RSs), told the user that I am not interested in pushing the issue and now that I responded as a last comment to what I had originally pointed out, by reassuring another user (DarknessGoth777) that I agreed with him, this user threatened me with AE and accused me of things I never said (I never said I was right or that everyone else was wrong). Please, bring this to an end? I am in no position to pick up trouble. Thanks. CoryGlee 22:46, 10 February 2026 (UTC)
- If you're having a content (or definition etc.) dispute, that is not an admin matter. If you wish to continue the discussion on that talk page, please do so. If you don't, you can stop at any time. If you don't want another user to ping you, you can ask them not to, and/or you can mute them.
- If, however, another user finds cause to take you or anyone else to a discussion at a noticeboard or similar venue, such as AE or WP:ANI, that is their prerogative, and there isn't much you can do about that, other than to engage with them beforehand in order to try to resolve your differences without such measures.
- As such, I don't see the need for any administrative action at this point, so I'm taking down this help-wanted-flag, but I am subscribing to this section in case you have further comments or questions. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 08:20, 12 February 2026 (UTC)

February 2026
Hi, and thank you for your edits to Wikipedia. I wanted to follow up about an edit where, Brenda Agüero was removed from a parent category.
This category is part of a group that falls under WP:EGRS, which covers categories based on ethnicity, gender, religion, sexuality, or disability. These categories are typically set up as non-diffusing. That means when a page is added to a subcategory like this one, it's still meant to be included in the parent category as well.
This is important because removing someone from the parent category can unintentionally change who appears to "belong" there. Over time, that can make the main category look less representative than it actually is, which the EGRS guideline is designed to avoid.
If you're not sure whether a subcategory is non-diffusing, you can often check the category page itself; many include a note or template. You can also read more at WP:EGRS and in the section on the final-rung rule. If you need further help, ask at the Teahouse. Please don't remove women from non-diffusing categories SMasonGarrison 03:22, 15 February 2026 (UTC)

About our recent conversations
Hey CoryGlee, I just wanted to try and extend an olive branch over this conversation. I had no intention of attacking you or your work or trying to rush you out of the queue. All of my criticism was intended constructively, and I took only the actions I felt would be best for the encyclopedia. I empathize with your frustration over the DYK process being somewhat circuitous and confusing, but I can only play my part in the review at whatever point I see the issues, and don't think I deserve to be talked to like that for doing it. We're all volunteers, after all, and still human and imperfect. I wish you the best with the nomination. —TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 04:27, 19 February 2026 (UTC)
- TechnoSquirrel69 – no problem at all ... In fact I do apologize. It's been quite obvious lately that I've been consistently overreacting but that's because of off Wikipedia stress. I am sorry that I am not able sometimes to handle these daily life occurrences more maturely. Again, I am sorry and I do apologize. CoryGlee 08:32, 19 February 2026 (UTC)
- I appreciate that, and accept your apology. No hard feelings. :) —TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 17:15, 19 February 2026 (UTC)

Hello and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I saw that a category you created, Category:LGBTQ rights activists from Minnesota has not been used on more than one page. According to the guideline Wikipedia:Categorization, categories should be populated with multiple articles. Please help by adding other articles to the categories you create. You can take a look at the categorization FAQ. If you need further help, feel free to ask me or ask at the Teahouse. Thank you. SMasonGarrison 05:24, 10 March 2026 (UTC)
Before adding a category to an article, as you did to Matthew Rairdon, please make sure that the subject of the article really belongs in the category that you specified according to Wikipedia's categorization guidelines. The category being added must already exist, and must be supported by the article's verifiable content. Categories may be removed if they are deemed incorrect for the subject matter. Please be careful about adding categories like 20th-century American LGBTQ people to people who are only notable in the 21st-century. SMasonGarrison 03:48, 18 March 2026 (UTC)

How is the article now?
Recently, you reviewed Moshe Avigdor Amiel for DYK, and suggested some improvements. I have made a few improvements to the page, are there any other suggestions or things that would be needed to improve it further? VidanaliK (talk to me) (contributions) 16:38, 18 March 2026 (UTC)
- Hi VidanaliK, thanks for writing. I have just read the article (sorry that I've been busy), and I can say that it has improved a great deal. Unfortunately, the DYK nomination has been closed and, anyway, would have been off-time by now. It is important, though, that you show so much eagerness to work on stubs and otherwise poorly structured articles. Kudos for your work. If I had to point out anything about this article, it is that you should always look for a variety of reliable sources. I see that a Jewish NGO is a frequently cited source, and it is not wrong per se, but perhaps you will find users who will claim it is a WP:SINGLESOURCE case.
- Best to you, :-)
- CoryGlee 20:14, 18 March 2026 (UTC)
- Do you think it's C- or B- class? I think it is a bit more than start-class by now, but I don't want to re-review it myself since I'm inherently biased, being the person who wrote the bulk of the article. VidanaliK (talk to me) (contributions) 16:20, 19 March 2026 (UTC)
