February music
From vacation, so missed some interesting stories, such as about Jubilant Sykes. Today about Richie Beirach, jazz pianist. Which of his music samples would you have chosen? -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:35, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
Giants today, RD Helmuth Rilling and OTD Friedrich Cerha 100. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:51, 17 February 2026 (UTC)
Today something new: a 100th birthday of someone alive, György Kurtág! In 2004 I was there when he and his wife played for the Rheingau Musik Festival where he was the featured composer. They played as the 2019 DYK said, on an upright piano, - listen, the last piece was the same. - More pics uploaded, enjoy. And Rosiestep shows the latest cat! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:38, 19 February 2026 (UTC)

Today's main page features four biographies I helped to bring there, two women and two men, three opera singers (one pictured) and an actor, - a record for me, I believe ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:01, 24 February 2026 (UTC)
March music
- Yes, thanks for asking. New travel pics on places. - Of the four topics I helped to bring to the main page, I'm most proud of a woman's work, so made it my story. As it happens, last year's story OTD was about the woman. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:51, 16 March 2026 (UTC)
Changing the language on over 100 entries
Dear Dan, sorry to bother you. I just discovered that you were assigned to be my mentor three years ago. I'd like to change the language on over 100 entries. I've made a start with this one entry: https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/mqedin. It's in a language mostly known as Seediq (as in the reference work cited), but the creator of the page called it Taroko. Taroko is a Japanese transliteration that hasn't been used for many decades. How could I change the language on all these entries?
Also, I'd like to upload a bunch of words in the language, each identified by dialect. I've added that mqedin is in the Tgdaya dialect.
Thanks! Shidailun73 (talk) 06:06, 19 February 2026 (UTC)
- Hey Shidailun73, apologies for the delayed response! Welcome to Wikipedia. I'm not as familiar with Wiktionary procedures, but it looks like your edit led to a discussion being started at wikt:Wiktionary:Language treatment requests#Rename Taroko to Seediq (trv) as you saw. Thanks for responding there as well. I believe pending further discussion, that's the proper place for renaming a language and so if a consensus is reached there, then a Wiktionary admin can act on it.
