Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:AGDealer

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:AGDealer, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. GPL93 (talk) 19:54, 30 March 2026 (UTC)

Block notice

icon
Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because it has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, website, or role, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must follow all these steps:

  1. Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  2. Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  3. Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  4. Provide a new username.

To do this, insert the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. If you are having trouble, you may want to try using the unblock wizard.

Before requesting a new username, check if it is still available. If the search says "There is no global account for [username]", the username is free to use.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the edit.

Requested username:

Dbinott (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log)

Request reason:

I am DB, a real person and employee of Glacier Farm Media, a Canadian agricultural media company. I chose the username "Dbagdealer" because I work on the AGDealer brand — I did not intend it to represent a company account, but I understand now that it violates Wikipedia's username policy by appearing to be a business account.

I understand the reason for my block and I will not repeat these kinds of edits. Specifically, I now understand that:

  • My username must not suggest I represent a business or organization
  • Articles about my employer and its products require strong independent secondary sources to establish notability
  • I must always disclose my conflict of interest, which I did do on my user page and on the talk pages of both drafts

I disclosed on my user page and on both draft talk pages that I am an employee of Glacier Farm Media, in accordance with Wikipedia's paid-contribution disclosure policy.

If unblocked under the new username Dbinott, I intend to contribute to Wikipedia by working on articles related to Canadian agricultural history and media — particularly publications with long histories such as The Western Producer (founded 1923), which has ample independent sourcing and clear encyclopedic value. I will ensure all future contributions are neutrally written, properly sourced from independent publications, and that my conflict of interest is clearly disclosed on any relevant talk pages.

Accept reason:

Please follow the policy pointed out to you in the future and refrain from making promotional edits. When in doubt, go to the talk page and propose a change, even if it takes more time. Sasquatch t|c 22:40, 1 April 2026 (UTC)
  • @Deb: - it looks like Db represents the individual and agdealer the brand, so the username doesn't need to be changed. PhilKnight (talk) 13:16, 31 March 2026 (UTC)
If you're sure. I'll be looking out for their future contributions whatever name they use. Deb (talk) 15:26, 31 March 2026 (UTC)
Are there any other concerns in relation to the block? I have reviewed the user's article space contributions and they appear fine. Obviously will need to monitor for promotional drafts/edits, but paid contributor notice is up. Sasquatch t|c 15:50, 31 March 2026 (UTC)
Okay, I'm not going to die in a ditch over this. Deb (talk) 09:10, 1 April 2026 (UTC)
