Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article, or a draft for a Wikipedia article, about yourself. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Managing a conflict of interest

Information icon Hello, DevilishPresleyHimself. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Devilish Presley, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Editing Devilish Presley

Hi. I just wanted to clear up a few things.

Wikipedia pages do not belong to anyone but Wikipedia. The Devilish Presley article is not yours. It is Wikipedia's. Claiming to be a past member of Devilish Presley does not grant you any ownership, or say, over the content of the article. Quite the opposite; it means you have a conflict of interest in editing it, and should follow all the guidelines I linked above.

The problem with what you are putting on the Devilish Presley article is;

  • It is not neutral. For instance; Wikipedia holds no opinions about how "loyal" fans of the band are, or how "phenomenal" their support was. Using words like this is not encyclopedic language.
  • It is unsourced and cannot be verified. While you may claim to have particular inside knowledge about the band, Wikipedia requires that its contents are verifiable. You cannot, for instance, claim a gig was a sell-out if there is no reliable source cited that says this.
  • Adding promotional content about yourself and your solo project is a case of both spam and a conflict of interest, particularly if it has no source to verify it. Continuing to add this will only get you blocked from editing.

But I'm happy to help improve this article along Wikipedia guidelines. If you have a source for "Aliens See Dinosaurs", please leave a note on the article talk page, and I will add a suitably neutral mention of it.

Thanks. Escape Orbit (Talk) 17:22, 1 March 2026 (UTC)

Dear Escape Orbit, can ask why you have removed links I I have added where 'citation needed' was requested. Modify the language if it is considered a conflict of interests, but these links are genuine are they not?
1. I have added our gig history from an outside concert archive source, while not complete it shows we existed during the 11 years stated and played in various genres.
2. I have added a Youtube link about our appearance on Slovakian TV that is still extant after 19 years, even though it was claimed that it was a dead link. So the original text was correct
3. I added a link to a concert review that mentions our drummer Ragborn Rosy, for which a citation was needed.
4.The same link to a concert archive used in 1, also covers us playing with various punk bands, (you need to look through the 3 pages that list 49 of our shows over 12 years).
5 I added a link to the original Crowdfunder page for the Electric Ballroom album and put the amount stated on there - the higher amount that was on here previously was the final total after a benefit gig. I realise I can't prove that, but it was a nice memory for us and those kind people who helped us. But that's too bad.
I really can't see why these links aren't acceptable, and would hope you can see your way clear to allowing these. Leave the stuff I wrote about Aliens See Dinosaurs, I hope to have some links about what I am doing soon, but it isn't important if it is a conflict of interest.
NB:FOR YOUR INFORMATION... This page was originally set up in August 2005, by God knows who? I didn't really want a Wikipedia page but like everyone else was I stuck with it, and therefore had some investment in it, beyond mere self-glorification, when in February 2009 I was forced to set up a user profile called Devilone, because my ex-wife was vandalising the page (under the username Fatbones) and writing very offensive things about people in the band. I had a lot of problems with Wikipedia back then on the subject of privacy. So, from 2009 until about 2020 I kept an eye on the page and updated dead links etc when I could but eventually deleted Devilone. I certainly wouldn't call any of this "writing an autobiography".
Lastly I would point out that one of the people editing this page recently 'Godgirl' is known to me, a former fan and troublemaker called Marge. If you can be bothered, look at the link I gave for the review that mentions our drummer (Newport May 2007) here: https://uk.people.gothic.narkive.com/frX2jtW7/devilish-presley-newports-tj-s-may-2007 Look at the one comment at the bottom. This is the same person as Godgirl. This is how long this has been going on.
You are 100% correct in your assertion that Wikipedia doesn't belong to me or the band. It belongs to the moderators, and I hope you can see there are flesh and blood humans involved here, and details of their lives are being discussed moderated and messed with. but hey, it's a conflict of interests so that's OK.
I hope you can find it in your heart to compromise and restore the links mentioned above.
With apologies for this epistle.

Thank you for your reply. I'm sorry you've had problems in the past from vandals on this article, or people adding inappropriate content. Wikipedia is quite strict about these things. It's on my watch list now. I will remove anything further added that violates Wikipedia policy. Please add any further sources you might have to the article talk page. I've also explained there the problems with the cites you were adding. Some of it may seem like nit-picking, but the guidelines here are all about ensuring fairness, accuracy and verifiability. This helps avoid the sort of problems you encountered. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 13:41, 2 March 2026 (UTC)
The main problem I have is that a great many of the sources for the things the band did were in print media, or on long vanished websites. I understand your strict adherence to the guidelines, that's a good thing. Thanks for making sure no one messes with the page. I would ask that Godgirl is prevented from making edits if possible.
I will try and find some more links, but I am at a loss to see how I can prove that we toured from 2002 - 2012 and then once more in 2015 (11 years). We have a list of every show we played but if the links I have provided about gigs don't fulfil the 'citation needed' criteria, I am at a loss to prove we even existed. Perhaps it would be best to admit we weren't that notable and delete the page.
One thing, dealing with anonymous people behind the scenes here makes this serious academic, encyclopedia feel a little troll like. You know my name and can easily find my photo online. I have no idea who you are.
All the best to you.
