| Thank you for fixing up the table in "List of Anseriformes by population". The image sizes were bugging me, but I hadn't had the time to learn how to edit them properly. Rrrexagon (talk) 22:48, 19 January 2026 (UTC) |
- Thank you very much! If there's one thing I can't stand, it's a non-standardized table. I appreciate the Kudos.
- (P.S. - in the source code for an article, you can specify image size by using "[ [File name (dot) jpeg | 175px] ]" - by adding the | and #px, it tells the image to be exactly 175 pixels wide, in this case. Most of the images that were making that table wonky were inserted as |frameless]], which tends to make them way too big.) DuckWrangler97 (talk) 23:12, 19 January 2026 (UTC)
Thanks!
For your thoughts on that flycatcher pic 👍
Out of curiosity, I was just having a browse of your user page bird list, . . . let me guess, from most of the birds being North American, your 'Sandwich Tern' is actually Cabot's Tern? 😄 - MPF (talk) 01:15, 17 February 2026 (UTC)
- Happy to help!
- Yes, you're absolutely right – darn taxonomists can never make up their minds. For the purposes of my life list, I use eBird/Clements taxonomy, so there it's still Sandwich tern (but then I should probably specify my Yellow Warbler is the Northern species now, too). - Thought so! Never been able to understand ebird/Clements reluctance to accept the Cabot's split, it's so obvious, and they're easy to identify from photos. They'll come into line sooner or later! - MPF (talk) 02:00, 17 February 2026 (UTC)
- 100% agree. I'm sure there's some complex reason enumerated somewhere, but I typically imagine that whoever is on the taxonomic boards makes decisions so their birding nemeses don't get an armchair new species from a split. DuckWrangler97 (talk) 17:15, 17 February 2026 (UTC)
