Information icon Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! Skitash (talk) 22:27, 19 February 2025 (UTC)

Hi, thanks, I didn't use the editing summary because when I started trying to put a summary my cell phone started to fail, I tried again but it failed again, I'm going to try to do it again Farcazo (talk) 15:24, 20 February 2025 (UTC)

Thank you very much for explaining it to me, I didn't know that's why I put it Farcazo (talk) 00:08, 16 March 2025 (UTC)

Appreciation!

Hi Farcazo,
I've noticed that we tend to edit similar pages, and I would like to commend you on the amount of images you add to articles. I think that the importance of images within articles seems to get overlooked by the wider editing community, for one reason or another.
Keep up the good work! Castroonthemoon (talk) 23:13, 26 April 2025 (UTC)

Thank you so much, I also have to congratulate you on all the pages you created or edited Farcazo (talk) 23:18, 26 April 2025 (UTC)

Information icon Hello! Thank you for your efforts to improve Wikipedia, and in particular for adding references, as you did to Harakat al-Abdal! However, adding a bare URL is not ideal, and exposes the reference to link rot. It is preferable to use proper citation templates when citing sources, including details such as title, author, date, and any other information necessary for a bibliographic citation. Here's an example of a full citation using the {{cite web}} template to cite a web page:

Lorem ipsum<ref>{{cite web |title=Download the Scanning Software - Windows and Mac |publisher=Canon Inc |work=Ask a Question |date=2022 |url=https://support.usa.canon.com/kb/index?page=content&id=ART174839 |access-date=2022-04-02}}</ref> dolor sit amet.

which displays inline in the running text of the article as:

Lorem ipsum[1] dolor sit amet.

and displays under References as:

  1. ^ Download the Scanning Software - Windows and Mac". Ask a Question. Canon Inc. 2022. Retrieved 2022-04-02.

If you've already added one or more bare URLs to an article, there are tools available to expand them into full citations: in the wikitext editor, try the reFill tool, and in the Visual Editor, the reference dialog can convert some bare urls into a full citation. Moerover, don't cite Wikipedia on Wikipedia. Est. 2021 (talk · contribs) 23:12, 6 May 2025 (UTC)

Citing Wikipedia on Wikipedia is to claim an event that has its own article and not to be citing source by source.
Thank you very much. Farcazo (talk) 23:17, 6 May 2025 (UTC)
You could use {{see also}} for that purpose. Est. 2021 (talk · contribs) 01:17, 7 May 2025 (UTC)
Thank you very much, I never knew how to do it, because I tried and only got an error.
Thank you very much from me Farcazo (talk) 23:19, 6 May 2025 (UTC)
You're welcome! Let me know if you ever need support with anything else. You can also notify me by either writing {{ping|Est. 2021}} here or writing directly to my talk page. Est. 2021 (talk · contribs) 01:17, 7 May 2025 (UTC)
Thank you very much from me Farcazo (talk) 01:19, 7 May 2025 (UTC)

You're welcome! I have some more tips for you:

  1. Never copy-paste text from external websites, as you did for example on Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror Brigade with sentences like It merged into the Sultan Murad Division in 2015 but left some time later. Reportedly responsible for the torture of a man trying to flee to YPG-held territory. from ; you could get banned for that, despite we appreciate you as contributor;
  2. Only use <br> tags inside infoboxes and tables, not inside the article text itself;
  3. When possible, try to avoid links to disambiguation pages; for example, you may link Syrian Turkmen instead of generic Turkmen.
  4. We call the country Turkey, not Türkiye.

Est. 2021 (talk · contribs) 01:18, 9 May 2025 (UTC)

1. Yes, I understand that I can be expelled for copyright
2. I use < br > to separate sentences
3. I understand, the use of generic words is wrong, but no source says that he is a Syrian Turkmen and emphasizes that he is financed by Turkey
4. The word Turkey is used by several people but they changed it to "Türkiye", I understand I will use "Turkey" from now on. Farcazo (talk) 01:46, 9 May 2025 (UTC)

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved without good reason. They should have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Your submission at Articles for creation: Ahmad Al-Assir Brigade (June 10)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by LR.127 was:
This submission is not adequately supported by reliable sources. Reliable sources are required so that information can be verified. If you need help with referencing, please see Referencing for beginners and Citing sources.
The comment the reviewer left was:
MEMRI was noted to be a pretty misleading and possibly unreliable source, and it's used twice in this short stub.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Islamic Jihad operations room

Hi,

I recall seeing someone adding entries for Jabhat Ansar Al-Sham, etc. to a related article (maybe 2024 Syrian opposition offensives a few months ago. It seems suspicious, at the very least, that someone created an article that seems to be entirely made up.

It's something to keep an eye out for, I guess.

Have a good one, David O. Johnson (talk) 00:48, 23 June 2025 (UTC)

Yes, the group does not exist and the only source it uses is from 2021. I found out on the Wayback Machine and the only thing that appears is an error message. The logos are invented and blatantly copied from other groups and an image copied from Hayat Tahrir al-Sham ........
This is not to make accusations in bad faith but I think it is a conspiracy by Abu Omar al Shami, Papuagunnie, Syrianknowitall Because they uploaded false things about the group and flags that have been removed or are still to be removed. Farcazo (talk) 01:03, 23 June 2025 (UTC)
I wouldn't be surprised if they're all the same user. David O. Johnson (talk) 16:26, 23 June 2025 (UTC)
Hello, although it's been a while I finally found the possible solution: here Syrianknowitall talks about the fake group (Jabhat Ansar Ash-Sham) and that it is supposedly a name of Saraya Ansar al-Sunnah Farcazo (talk) 20:56, 6 July 2025 (UTC)

Recent vandalism sprees

Hi,

I wouldn't be surprised if the user I reported earlier is just a sockpuppet of Bandodo; both were created a few days ago. If there's another user that starts engaging in similar behavior, I'll probably submit a report at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations.

Have a good one, David O. Johnson (talk) 13:27, 8 February 2026 (UTC)

Yes, this month there were several waves of vandalism in pages about Syria, and I wouldn't be surprised if they all came from the same person, I also put him on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism for to have his account removed, because he's vandalized several pages, including my user page.
