Your submission at Articles for creation: Policing the Plains (1927 film) (November 26)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Bkissin was:
This submission is not adequately supported by reliable sources. Reliable sources are required so that information can be verified. If you need help with referencing, please see Referencing for beginners and Citing sources.
The comment the reviewer left was:
Add inline citations to information you reference. I appreciate the information about settler colonialism, but that should probably be in a separate "Criticism" section. In fact, try to separate all of the information into separate sections. Look at Back to God's Country (1919 film) as an example.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit when they have been resolved.

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.

Image without license

Unspecified source/license for File:Whaling ADKean.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Whaling ADKean.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time after the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: Once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (TalkContribsOwner) 06:45, 17 December 2018 (UTC)

Question about an edit

Greetings and felicitations. In this edit to Whaling: British Columbia's Least Known and Most Romantic Industry you add the reference "Kean, A. D. (1917). 'Hunting the Sea Lion: An Exciting and Adventurous Sport which Foreshadows Industral Possibilities'." Since I can't find a copy online,I want to check with you if "Industral" is the spelling in the original, or if it is actually "Industrial" with a second "i". ("Industral" is one of the misspellings I correct.) —DocWatson42 (talk) 19:13, 28 February 2019 (UTC)

Your submission at Articles for creation: Leon C. Shelly (October 6)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Theroadislong was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
Wikipedia requires multiple in-depth coverage in independent sources.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit when they have been resolved.

Your submission at Articles for creation: Stanley Fox (filmmaker) (October 28)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by MediaKyle was:
The content of this submission includes material that does not meet Wikipedia's minimum standard for inline citations. Please cite your sources using footnotes. For instructions on how to do this, please see Referencing for beginners. Thank you.
The comment the reviewer left was:
External links (those which take the reader outside of Wikipedia; i.e. the link from R. H. Marlow) are not allowed in the body of an article, please remove all of those. Large portions of this draft also lack citations, please cite your sources for everything you've written here.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Oscar Burritt draft

Many thanks for the Oscar Burritt article, for which I am the reviewer. It was a very interesting read and so I will move it into mainspace. The slight hold-up is that there is a redirection in place at the moment, so I need someone with particular privileges to remove that redirect first, and this may take a day or so.

There is a potential issue under the Amateur Film section, where there are direct links within the article. See WP:EL which shows that generally it is not encouraged but provides some exceptions. I think this is probably within that exception, the so-called Wikipedia:ELYES exception, but the further problem is the YouTube links. As it happens these are hosted by a very respectable organisation, but there may be questions about this. So it may be better to turn the direct links into a reference, and then the link from inside the main reference section. Alternatively, it is OK to have an External Links section, which would be considered outside the article. As you have waited a long time, and I think the exception is applicable, then this won't get in the way of moving the article, but I would suggest that you give this issue some thought since it's possible another editor will act precipitously.

By way of feedback, it would be good to have a source or two for the Vancouver Motion Pictures examples. ChrysGalley (talk) 20:14, 2 November 2025 (UTC)

This submission appears to be taken from https://thebcreview.ca/2025/08/14/2630-duffy-essay-stan-fox/. Wikipedia cannot accept material copied from elsewhere, unless it explicitly and verifiably has been released to the world under a suitably free and compatible copyright license or into the public domain and is written in an acceptable tonethis includes material that you own the copyright to. Thanks for this interesting article on a publication series or journal, active over about 9 years. The sources are sufficient to supoprt notability. I note that the blog here was published after this was created, so presumably copied from Wikipedia.
