Hi! Can you show me where it says we should have separate paragraphs for previous and current clubs in the lede? Doctorhawkes (talk) 11:24, 28 July 2025 (UTC)
- Hi there. A what the player currently is in one sentence and what a player was in a wholly separate paragraph appears to be consistently applied for a number of years. It seems to make sense that we delineate between current and previous clubs, but some may see this a logical, and others not; some may see this as clean and others 180 degrees opposite. It does appears to be the standard, but if we want to move away from the norm, I'd happily be involved in any discussions. Fleets (talk) 14:55, 28 July 2025 (UTC)
- I think it's a little rude to revert and say it's because of the MOS when the MOS does not say that. I'm going to revert in this case, because it seems to fit with MOS:LEADBIO, but I agree that first paragraph can get cluttered when listing a series of former clubs. Doctorhawkes (talk) 09:58, 29 July 2025 (UTC)
- I just went to the first page of Category:Australian_rugby_league_players and clicked on 15 players. Only 2 had separate paragraphs.Doctorhawkes (talk) 10:03, 29 July 2025 (UTC)
- If you felt it was rude I do apologise, as that was not my intention. In fact it was one of the last used revision lines, and certainly not meant as a rebuke. No worries, and I appreciate your candour. I too had a look at other sportsmen and I found it to be largely a divide, but with other sports seeming to be very cluttered in the first sentence, or sentences. They broke up between current and previous, but this was just a random selection. It may also be that I was looking at well known sportsmen, who have played for more than two clubs, and Galvin has played a handful of games for the two clubs. He has played for the PMs XIII, and have added it ahead of the previous club contract.Fleets (talk) 14:15, 29 July 2025 (UTC)

Copy-Pasting
Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to change the title of Draft:2026 RFL Championship by cutting its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into 2026 RFL Championship. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. - Yes, and
while this is not an exact WP:CUTPASTE, the article closely paraphrases the draft. The last paragraph is exactly the same ("Nikotemo suffered a thumb injury..."), and many of the citation access dates match the draft's (pre-dating this article's creation). Authorship needs to be correctly attributed per Wikipedia's licensing, so the page history should be consolidated. Thank you
(bold not in my original histmerge request, which was granted). Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 16:57, 5 February 2026 (UTC)

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to change the title of a page by cutting its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Tony Sukkar (rugby league). February 2026
Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your recent edits to Tom Duffy (rugby league) when you modified the page, you introduced unknown parameters. Just because you specify |some_param=some_variable does not always mean that variable will display. The |some_param= must be defined in the template. You can look at the documentation for the template you are using but it is also helpful to use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and ensure that the values you have added are displaying correctly. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show you what the page will look like without actually saving it. It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. Note I have likely fixed the error by now so check the history of the page to see how it was fixed. If you have any questions, contact the help desk for assistance.

Setu Tu moved to draftspace
Thanks for your contributions to Setu Tu. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing as a live article at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted it to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. JTtheOG (talk) 06:27, 3 March 2026 (UTC)

- No worries, WPRL or please jump into any rugby league footballer article created any time, and you will see our Australian friends are very particular about cms and kgs, with secondary units of ft ins and st lbs across many, many thousands of player articles. If you wish to go up against those numbers, then please try and raise consensus for a change, but my feeling is that lbs would be a wholly alien weight measurement to Australia.Fleets (talk) 09:07, 15 March 2026 (UTC)
