"Ships" or "ships in class" headings in ship class articles
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war over whether a heading should read "ships", "construction" or "ships in class" Royal Navy warship class articles, according to the reverts you've made to Bellerophon-class battleship, Admiral-class battlecruiser, Courageous-class battlecruiser, Renown-class battlecruiser, Lion-class battlecruiser, Indefatigable-class battlecruiser, Queen Elizabeth-class battleship, Colossus-class battleship (1910), St Vincent-class battleship. And then you extended the edit-war by making to same edit to many other Royal Navy warship class articles. This means that you are repeatedly reverting content back to how you think it should be, despite knowing that other editors disagree. Once it is known that there is a disagreement, users are expected to collaborate with others, avoid editing disruptively, and try to reach a consensus – rather than repeatedly reverting the changes made by other users.
Important points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive behavior – regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not engage in edit warring – even if you believe that you are right.
You need to discuss the disagreement on the article's talk page and work towards a revision that represents consensus among everyone involved. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution if discussions reach an impasse. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you continue to engage in edit warring, you may be blocked from editing. -- Toddy1 (talk) 15:58, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
- It's not an "edit war". I was trying to make a heading consistent across articles. When my changes got reverted I thought it was because I was not logged in the first time. So I made sure I was logged in and tried again. I did not know how my edits got reverted and thought maybe an automated process was removing everything I was doing. I was looking into why when you sent me this message. Flognar (talk) 16:11, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
- This series of edits to Bellerophon-class battleship looks like an edit war to me:
- 22:00, 2 December 2025 (UTC) initial edit
- 23:11, 2 December 2025 (UTC) revert Sturmvogel 66
- 14:53, 3 December 2025 (UTC) revert Sturmvogel 66
- This series of edits to Bellerophon-class battleship looks like an edit war to me:
- Please note that there can be Wikilinks for other articles and talk pages to headings in articles (e.g. Bellerophon-class battleship#Ships), so unnecessary heading changes are deprecated. Heading changes can force a lot of maintenance work to repair such links.-- Toddy1 (talk) 16:23, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
