Thanks for recognizing that I have a lot of knowledge about Tropical Cyclones in the Southern Hemisphere. It's kinda weird since I live in the UK and have never set foot in the Southern Hemisphere though I do off course move from the Western Hemisphere into the Eastern Hemisphere from time to time! Anyway, while I dont mind the drafts coming over to my userspace, my feeling is that we have to be extremely careful with which ones we move, as there are a few systems there that imo do not need articles. For example: Tui, Ursula and Veli 1998, as while they were later retired/removed from the naming lists after the season they didn't do anything major.Jason Rees (talk) 14:22, 8 February 2026 (UTC)
- Honestly, I believe such articles can be expanded beyond what their season summary report says by using newspapers, even if their impacts were "nothing". For example, there are nearly 300 non-copyrighted newspapers covering Cyclone Tui. Nonetheless, I will start moving the drafts when you tell me which ones you want moved into your userspace. - I have moved a few sandboxes over this morning and while I respect your position and can't really argue with it. I took a look at those "nearly 300 newspaper articles" for Tui, though and noticed that a majority of them were the column EarthWeek. On a side note, Im tempted to nick Hazen and Pamela off you as well. Jason Rees (talk) 00:44, 9 February 2026 (UTC)
- Be as greedy as you want. FourNoddlers (talk) 01:24, 9 February 2026 (UTC)
- Any other articles you want moved? FourNoddlers (talk) 01:57, 9 February 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks between us I think we have caught all of the ones that are definitely worth an article now.Jason Rees (talk) 19:09, 9 February 2026 (UTC)
- You're welcome. Also, I'm okay with you moving any of my user space drafts as long as you strongly believe they are worth an article. If there are any "non-notable" drafts, I prefer that you merge or move them into my user space instead of blanking them to preserve the sources. Thank you, and have a nice day. FourNoddlers (talk) 19:14, 9 February 2026 (UTC)
- And by the way, I have a comprehensive list of retired Southern Hemisphere names with articles that you can browse for more article-worthy drafts since I wasn't around long enough to create them all. Feel free to move that page too. @Jason Rees FourNoddlers (talk) 19:19, 9 February 2026 (UTC)

Rammasun and Mangkhut
Hi there, not gonna start an edit war but I was just wondering why did you revised the opening statement of Rammasun and Mangkhut into “locally named ____ (by PAGASA; optionally)” instead of the traditional “known in the Philippines as _______”. I mean both of these typhoons affect other countries tho other than Philippines; South China, Vietnam for Rammasun and Guam, Hong Kong, and China for Mangkhut. I understand that that part “locally named ____ (by PAGASA; optionally)” was only used when Philippines was only affected by any tropical cyclone; but its kinda weird for me when it was used for other typhoons like what I mentioned earlier; which is affected by other countries aside from the Philippines.
