Rodrigues parakeet

Hi FunkMonk; I came across something you'd like on social media and managed to get it released under a free license. These are, in the words of the photographer, 'the only two Rodrigues parakeet specimen in existence', and are not usually publicly viewable. I'll leave it to you to work out where the image belongs in the article, but I hope you agree with me that it would be a good addition! Josh Milburn (talk) 17:46, 12 February 2026 (UTC)
- Wow, yeah, that's perfect, thanks! But a very sad image... I've now added it to the paragraph where they're discussed. FunkMonk (talk) 17:54, 12 February 2026 (UTC)
- I agree; tragic. The reason Dolly was looking at them is that she's just written a book about encounters with extinct animals in museums; I've not read it, but I'd imagine those sorts of emotions are one of the things she explores. (Actually, looks like her Wikipedia article needs updating...) Josh Milburn (talk) 18:46, 12 February 2026 (UTC)

Suchosaurus and Baryonyx problems
Hello FunkMonk. I wanted to contact you regarding the case of the original spinosaurid Suchosaurus, and more specifically S. girardi. While I was drafting the article on this animal, despite its dubious status, I noticed that the image depicting the holotype fossil material of S. girardi is misleading. The actual fossil material of this taxon corresponds to specimens numbered 4 and 5 in Sauvage (1897). Additionally, while on the subject of image corrections in featured articles, this image also contains an error in the catalogue number of the holotype specimen of S. cultridens. It is listed as NHMUK PV R36563, whereas the correct number should be NHMUK PV R36536. Although this mistake already appears in Barker et al., (2023), a small correction to this number would be appreciated. Best regards, Amirani1746 (talk) 08:23, 13 March 2026 (UTC).
- Ah, good to know, I must have misread the order in the girardi image, so I'll update the image (better than just removing it, because then the error will just persist on Commons and other Wikipedias). As for the map, I'm not sure how to easily fix that number. FunkMonk (talk) 10:46, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
- Now updated the girardi image. Note the tooth image was just on another page, so that is also included. FunkMonk (talk) 11:00, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
