George S. Sliman is an American collegiate athletics administrator, public-sector manager, and former business owner based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is best known for his tenure as Director of Athletics at Carlow University, where he led a multi-decade expansion of the university’s athletic programs, as well as for his earlier work in public housing management and urban redevelopment in the City of Pittsburgh.
Early career and public service
Sliman worked for the Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh, where he served as manager of Northview Heights, one of the city’s largest public housing communities. In this role, he oversaw day-to-day operations, facilities management, and coordination of resident services.
He later worked for the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh, contributing to major civic and economic development projects in the city. His work was associated with large-scale initiatives connected to PNC Park, Heinz Field, and redevelopment efforts in Market Square.
Hospitality and business
In addition to his public-sector work, Sliman was involved in the hospitality industry in Pittsburgh. He served as president and co-owner of Margaritaville, Inc., which operated the Margaritaville restaurant and bar in Pittsburgh’s South Side neighborhood. The establishment was a well-known venue during the 1980s and 1990s and was sold in 1999.

Question from Coburnius (08:20, 8 March 2026)
how do i create a subject/artical --Coburnius (talk) 08:20, 8 March 2026 (UTC)
- Hello, and welcome!
- The best thing to start with is to review Help:Getting started and in your case, Help:Your first article. You can create a draft article in your sandbox (User:Coburnius/Sandbox) or a draft under the topic name (Draft:Name of thing). Once that is done, you can submit it to Articles for Creation for review. GGOTCC 06:59, 10 March 2026 (UTC)

Question from DevRel AppSec (14:34, 9 March 2026)
Hi GGOTCC,
I hope you’re doing well.
I’d like to ask for your guidance before drafting or submitting an article about Xygeni Security, a Spanish cybersecurity company founded in 2020 and headquartered in Madrid.
For transparency, I am professionally connected to the company, so I am aware of the conflict-of-interest guidelines and want to proceed correctly. My intention is not promotional, but to assess whether the company meets Wikipedia’s notability standards before drafting anything.
The company has received coverage in several independent media outlets, including:
Expansión (Spanish national business newspaper)
EU-Startups
Help Net Security
Coverage related to its funding round in outlets such as FinSMEs and Nordic9
Before moving forward, I’d appreciate your opinion on:
Whether this level of coverage would generally meet WP:GNG / WP:ORG standards.
Whether you would recommend drafting in sandbox and submitting through AfC instead of direct creation.
Any structural or sourcing recommendations to minimize deletion risk.
Thank you in advance for your guidance, I want to make sure everything is done in line with community expectations.
Best regards, --DevRel AppSec (talk) --DevRel AppSec (talk) 14:34, 9 March 2026 (UTC)
Question from GoblinstheHistorian (06:42, 10 March 2026)
Hello nice to meet you, I'm Goblins. How do I set up a infobox on my user page with visual editing? --GoblinstheHistorian (talk) 06:42, 10 March 2026 (UTC)
- Hello, and welcome! It is nice to meet you.
- You can copy and paste Template:Infobox Wikipedia user or someone else's userbox onto your page, although you may need to be in the source editor to do so. When in the visual editor, you can click the infobox and a window would pop up. In the window, you can add information as you see fit. Does this help? GGOTCC 06:58, 10 March 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you, this was helpful! GoblinstheHistorian (talk) 01:00, 12 March 2026 (UTC)
