Question regarding manual of style
Just out of curiosity, how did I misapply MOS:JOBTITLES on Garda Commissioner? Woko Sapien (talk) 18:51, 5 September 2025 (UTC)
- Hi, the following is from MOS:PEOPLETITLES:
- "Titles should be capitalized when attached to an individual's name, or where the position/office is a globally unique title that is the subject itself, and the term is the actual title or conventional translation thereof (not a description or rewording)."
- The Garda Commissioner is a globally unique title that is itself the subject of that article. This is distinct from the description of the job, which would not need to be capitalised, e.g. "The Garda Commissioner is a police commissioner." Gatepainter (talk) 12:16, 6 September 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for the clarification! Woko Sapien (talk) 18:21, 7 September 2025 (UTC)

Hi Gatepainter. Thank you for your work on OneSonic. Another editor, Klbrain, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:
Thanks for creating this biography for a company reaching WP:NCORP through coverage in multiple sources, including national newspapers. The claim of 'Ireland’s first and only audio technology brand' is supported by sources, and might well be the reason for strong coverage in Ireland. Regardless of the motivation, it is widely covered. The only question might be whether the coverage is truly independent - or are the newspaper more paid (or influenced) publications or advertorials - noting those of Campion, for example.
