icon Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. We always appreciate when users upload files. However, it appears that one or more of the files you have uploaded or added to a page, specifically User:IShowSammy, may fail our non-free policy. Most often, this involves editors uploading or using a copyrighted file of a living person. For other possible reasons, please read up on our Non-free criteria. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 04:28, 15 April 2026 (UTC)

Hi IShowSammy. There are several problems with File:Samuel Salazar-Diaz 1.jpg that have to do with Wikipedia's non-free content use policy: more specifically, this file fails non-free content use criterion #1 and non-free content use criterion #9. Non-free content can only be used in the articles per criterion #9; it can't be used on user pages or subpages in your user namespace as explained WP:UP#Non-free files. So, even if the file was OK as licensed, you would be able to use it on the pages you're were using it. In addition, non-free photos of living people are pretty much never allowed per WP:FREER; so, even if tried to use the photo in an actual Wikipedia article, you still would be able to do so per criterion #1.
In general, the only type of images that can be used on user pages are ones licensed in accordance with WP:COPY#Guidelines for images and other media files. If you would like to upload an image of you yourself to use on your Wikipedia user page, please take a look at Wikipedia:A picture of you for some general information. Please understand that the person who takes a photo is typically considered to be its copyright holder and only that person can release their photo under the type of license that's free enough for Wikipedia's purpose. So, if you didn't take this photo yourself, you will need to provide Wikipedia with some formal way of verifying the WP:CONSENT of the person who did; otherwise, Wikipedia won't be able to keep the photo. -- Marchjuly (talk) 04:41, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
