Hello, welcome to my talk page!

If you want to leave a message, please do it at the bottom, as a new section, for better formatting. You can do that by simply pressing the plus sign (+) or "new section" on the top of this page. And don't forget to sign your messages with four tildes, like this: ~~~~

Attention: I prefer to keep discussions unfragmented. If you leave a comment for me here, I will most likely respond to it on this same page—my talk page—as an effort to keep the entire conversation in one place. By the same token, if I leave a comment on your talk page, please respond to it there. Remember, we can use our watchlist and topic subscriptions to keep track of when responses are made. At the same time, feel free to send an alert to me on this page about a comment you have left elsewhere.

Question from Sean Conroy Real on User:Sean Conroy Real (05:34, 17 November 2025)

How do I add my photo to my page? --Sean Conroy Real (talk) 05:34, 17 November 2025 (UTC)

Hello! If you have a freely licensable photo you want to upload, you can do so at Wikimedia Commons using the Upload Wizard. IffyChat -- 10:28, 17 November 2025 (UTC)

Question from Sean Conroy Real (17:48, 17 November 2025)

Hey there, how do I upload my image to my Wikipedia page? --Sean Conroy Real (talk) 17:48, 17 November 2025 (UTC)

Hello! If you have a freely licensable photo to upload (such as a photo you've taken yourself), you can do so at the Wikimedia Commons using the Commons Upload Wizard. If the photo you want to upload is not freely licensable, you can upload it here on Wikipedia through the Wikipedia Upload Wizard, but you will have to provide a rationale for using it (it will guide you through it, don't worry!). If the photo you want to use already exists on either Wikipedia or the Commons, you can place it on your page by inserting [[File:REPLACE THIS WITH THE TITLE OF YOUR IMAGE.PNG]] where you want the picture in the source editor, and replacing all that capitalized text with the name of your image. You can also do various things to format your image, which you can learn more about at Help:Pictures ⚠︎ ArkadenBoden ⚠︎ (talk) 18:30, 17 November 2025 (UTC)

I suggested a new page for Wikipedia in late September. How do I view where it might be in a queue for review or if it's already been accepted or rejected? --LPFasold (talk) 01:19, 19 November 2025 (UTC)

Hello! If you're referring to the page you created at User:LPFasold/sandbox, this page has not yet been submitted for review. I would recommend formatting the references to use Wikipedia's recommended format, following the guidance at Help:Referencing for beginners before pressing the "Submit the draft for review!" button. Question from GittoesFilms (01:30, 3 December 2025)

Hi ! i recently received a message from someone who said the page i edited was full of uncited information.

This person then went on and removed 90% of the Wikipedia page and made some edits to the style and fixed a few mistakes i made.

All the information i provided was created by Peter Londey, an Australian Historian.

How can i redo this so that most of that information remains present? i have a word document with what Peter sent me, are you able to help me with this ? --GittoesFilms (talk) 01:30, 3 December 2025 (UTC)

Hello! The best way to resolve this content dispute is to raise your concerns on the Talk page of the article in question. Sourcing for our articles needs to be verfifiable, so a Word document that you say is from an expert is not good enough as a source for us. IffyChat -- 11:15, 3 December 2025 (UTC)

Hi Iffy! Thanks for serving as my mentor! I was wondering, when editing table data for a sports team that contains multiple instances of the same data, is there a way to grab data from one table and populate another table with the same data? --Nejn908 (talk) 05:57, 15 December 2025 (UTC)

Question from SemD642 on User talk:SemD642 (09:39, 17 December 2025)

Hi sumanuil. I recently saw that you removed a part on the 'talk' section. This is a page for talking about a page about changes. The reason this exists is so that people can show facts to eachother and discuss if such facts need to be added to a page. But you, just delete my critique based on your opinion on the matter. I quoted the original report around his autopsy and also mentioned a routine technique used by police officers. The whole reasonI put it in the talk page was so that it could be discussed and people could elaborate on why such info is or isn't in the article. Please revert the removing of the page or give a good reason why your personal opinion on the matter is more important the factual evidence. --SemD642 (talk) 09:39, 17 December 2025 (UTC)

Hello! I am not the user who made the edit in question. I see in the history that this topic is frequently debated to the point that there is a section at Talk:Murder of George Floyd/FAQ which answers some commonly asked questions about the article. We rely on reliable sources to interpret the content of primary sources, it is not our place to second guess the conclusions those sources make as this violates our Wikipedia:No original research policy. What is the talk page? Question from Laurenfe (04:57, 21 January 2026)

Hi there, is there a way to filter my recommended edits to be related more to board and tabletop games? As well, I want to know how to add a conflict of interest to some of the edits as I may be affiliated to some events that need pages in my personal sandbox. Thanks! --Laurenfe (talk) 04:57, 21 January 2026 (UTC)

Hello! I don't know if there is a way to tailor the recommended edits in the way you suggest, but you may be interested in Wikipedia:WikiProject Board and table games. As for potential conflicts of interest, you can disclose as part of your edit summary or on the talk page of the article in question; for potentially controversial changes, make edit requests on the talk page using the {{edit COI}} template, and for new articles, use the Wikipedia:Articles for creation process so that independent editors can review your work. Question from GracefulFern3145 (19:49, 23 January 2026)

Hello! I'm a newer Wikipedia editor, and I just made my account a few hours ago. You were assigned my mentor. I've only ever made text edits, but I've added some links to articles. This is mainly for future reference, but what should I do if I would like to add information to an article, but cannot find or access the source? I.E. Trying to cite a research paper from a website that requires payment to access and see the full article --GracefulFern3145 (talk) 19:49, 23 January 2026 (UTC)

Hello! Firstly, you should not be adding information to articles where you cannot verify the content of the sources yourself. If you find a source you cannot access the contents of, you could ask for assistance from users at a relevant WikiProject, or at Wikipedia:WikiProject Resource Exchange/Resource Request. More experienced users can access Wikipedia:The Wikipedia Library directly which provides accees to paywalled resources for Wikipedians. IffyChat -- 20:01, 23 January 2026 (UTC)

Question from Folklorin (10:46, 28 January 2026)

Hi Iffy! First of all, I just wanted to say hi to you as my assigned mentor. Secondly, I wanted to get your opinion on this article: Ross Lara. I was given it as a random article to practice editing but noticed that it has a lot of peacock claims (which I tried to tone down) and actually there aren’t a lot of sources out there to support the main body of the article. All references are just used for discography. I’m not sure what’s best to do, whether it’s actually possible to improve it or it needs to be nominated for deletion. What would you do? --Folklorin (talk) 10:46, 28 January 2026 (UTC)

Hello! I don't have the time to do a full source review, especially for someone whose expertise is in an area I am not that familiar with, but if you cannot find sources that show that this person is notable, then nominating for deletion (instead of making further improvements) is an acceptable solution. Wikipedia:Articles for deletion is the primary method used to propose that an article is deleted, where other users can give their feedback and a consensus can be established. IffyChat -- 11:34, 28 January 2026 (UTC)
Thank you! Folklorin (talk) 11:35, 28 January 2026 (UTC)

Question from Folklorin (22:08, 1 February 2026)

Hi! I wanted to get your advice. I am updating data on T visa article but primary data for each year is stored in separate pdf files. Do I need to reference them individually (as I've done) or is there a more elegant way? --Folklorin (talk) 22:08, 1 February 2026 (UTC)

Hello! I think the way you're currently referencing the data is fine, unless you can find a source that summarises the data across multiple years like the table we have here does. One thing I noticed is that the table currently doesn't have data for the T-6 category even though this data is available in the sources, you could add a new column so that someone can add that data to the table, even if you can't find that data for all the years. IffyChat -- 10:14, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
Hi! Thank you, that’s very helpful! Yes, T-6 category wasn’t originally mentioned in the article but haven’t got around to adding it to the table yet. Folklorin (talk) 14:12, 2 February 2026 (UTC)

Question from GracefulFern3145 (16:39, 4 February 2026)

Hello,

What are the rules on Wikipedia article plagiarism? I'm trying to edit the Actinides in the environment article, and the section for protactinium is short and unsourced, so I'm:

1. Looking at the "Occurrence" section in the original protactinium article to have information to base my writings off of, and: 2. Trying to find reliable sources about this topic (though I'm mainly going to focus on this later)

I'm asking about plagiarism because I'm pretty sure it's not allowed to just copy-paste occurrence information from the protactinium article, even if I linked the article with a header. Not that I intend to do that, but the occurrence section has some sourced and seemingly reliable information on how/where protactinium is found on Earth, so I was looking at it to maybe add some information from that article into the protactinium section in actinides in the environment.

As for the verifying sources, I read the article about verifying sources and other information, admittedly not terribly in depth, but I think I understand enough to start somewhere. I'll probably reread it, but I'm busy right now, so I'll have to save that for later. I'm going to do my work as I wait for a response.

Thank you in advance!

-GracefulFern3145 --GracefulFern3145 (talk) 16:39, 4 February 2026 (UTC)

Hello, thank you for your assistance. May I ask, how many short edits can we make in a day? Is there a limit? Thanks --SophiaBrooks3 (talk) 08:28, 20 February 2026 (UTC)

Hello! There is no daily limit on the number of edits you can make, so long as you are making the edits yourself and not using some script to make the edits for you. IffyChat -- 08:44, 20 February 2026 (UTC)
thank you. I am making the edits myself randomly through suggested edits by Wikipedia :) SophiaBrooks3 (talk) 09:17, 20 February 2026 (UTC)

Question from Tayyyy (21:07, 22 February 2026)

Hello, I am a new editor, I wanted to know that, if, in mathematics I had a proposition or some kind of theorem which is "relevant", could I ever make a article explaining it in details and stating on it? --Tayyyy (talk) 21:07, 22 February 2026 (UTC)

Question from Marie Pierre Krafft (10:42, 23 February 2026)

Hello, I am a scientist and would like to update a website of the International Symposium of Fluorous Technologies (ISOFT). Can I do that? Thanks in advance for your answer. Best regards --Marie Pierre Krafft (talk) 10:42, 23 February 2026 (UTC)

Hello! I see you have found Wikipedia's article on International Symposium on Fluorous Technologies already, adding a website link is definitely one of many ways you can improve an article, so long as adding that link follows the Wikipedia:External links guideline. Yes, thank you. I have updated the ISoFT website with recent information on the last conferences and upcoming one. I will check the guideline you sent. Marie Pierre Krafft (talk) 12:31, 23 February 2026 (UTC)

Question from Tayyyy (19:56, 23 February 2026)

Ok so I found a somewhat famous personality on whom no article has yet been created. So I was wondering whether I am allowed to create one and if yes, how and what measures must be followed- as in do I just follow the way how other biographies in wikipedia are written and put in information (Taken from A.I) or are there some rules. Thanks. --Tayyyy (talk) 19:56, 23 February 2026 (UTC)

Hello! Yes, anyone can write an article on Wikipedia, you can use the Wikipedia:Articles for creation process so that other editors can review your proposed article. The Wikipedia:Article wizard can help you get started with this. There is guidance at Help:Your first article on what you should and should not do when writing a new article. Question from Fabolosmi (15:03, 25 February 2026)

I was thinking of making certain niche articles available in more languages (I speak several). Do I have to indicate new sources or can I reuse the same. E.g. if the original article is in Norwegian (with sources in Norwegian), can I translate it to German and still use the Norwegian-language sources? --Fabolosmi (talk) 15:03, 25 February 2026 (UTC)

Hello! On the English Wikipedia, while English language sources are preferred as these are easier for English language speakers to verify the contents of, there are no language restrictions on the sources you use, so you are free to use sources from any language when translating an article for this Wikipedia. See Wikipedia:Verifiability#Non-English sources for more information. Other language Wikipedias operate independently and may have different policies, you should check each language Wikipedia's policies before translating in to other Wikipedias.
