Twitter's demise
File:Twitter_login.png The platform is getting more and more controlled. They even want to limit the number of tweets that you're allowed to read. Enough is enough. Inawe 04:58, 2 July 2023 (UTC)

Power
Wikipedia's success depends on the people who use it..
That's maybe banal, but you cannot remind people too often that initiative and consistent application bring success. Inawe (talk) 12:01, 17 January 2025 (UTC)
- Content Creation and Editing: Wikipedia is built by volunteers who contribute content, edit articles, and ensure the information is accurate and up-to-date. Without these contributors, Wikipedia would not have the vast array of articles it currently boasts.
- Quality Control: Users play a crucial role in maintaining the quality of information through peer review, fact-checking, and editing. The community's vigilance against vandalism and misinformation is key to keeping Wikipedia reliable.
- Governance and Policy: The policies and guidelines of Wikipedia are developed, debated, and enforced by its community. This user-driven governance model ensures that the platform evolves with its user base's needs and ethical standards.
- Funding: Although Wikipedia operates on donations, it's the user community that largely funds the platform. The Wikimedia Foundation relies on small donations from millions of users to keep the site running without ads.
- Usage and Feedback: The more people use Wikipedia, the more it gets refined. User feedback through discussions, talk pages, and usage statistics helps in identifying areas needing improvement or expansion.
- Cultural and Linguistic Diversity: Users from around the world contribute in various languages, making Wikipedia multilingual and culturally rich, which broadens its appeal and usefulness.
- Community Engagement: The success of Wikipedia also hinges on the engagement of its community in discussions, mediations, and collaborative projects. This engagement fosters a sense of ownership and responsibility among users, which in turn drives further participation and improvement.
