Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2026_February_28#Category:Muslim_communities_of_Russia
Sorry to be a pedant, but could you please specify exactly what should be renamed to what as a result of that closure? Even with your wording it's still a bit unclear.
(Byzantine procedural notes: when closing a CFD you should generally also list it for processing at WT:CFDW or implement it yourself. One way of doing that is to use User:Qwerfjkl/scripts/CFDlister. See Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Administrator instructions#Non-admin closures. I'd be happy to sort out the procedural quagmire for you, but it's still not clear to me what the new names for each category should be. Thank you for helping out here, sorry that it's such a pain) * Pppery * it has begun... 23:15, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
- @Pppery: sorry about that! It's definitely a pain. I've clarified my close, but CFDlister doesn't seem to be actually listing anything for me at CFDW while using either Safari or Chrome. I decided to implement the moves myself but have found that the articles in categories don't themselves get recategorized. So I've moved only Category:Muslim communities of Russia. Can you help me out of this pickle? And is there a better way of recategorizing the articles in a category to be moved? Iseult Δx talk to me 23:41, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
- That is, the renames to do are:
- Category:Muslim communities of Russia to Category:Muslim ethnic groups of Russia
- Category:Muslim communities of China to Category:Muslim ethnic groups of China
- Category:Muslim communities of Indonesia to Category:Muslim ethnic groups of Indonesia
- Category:Muslim communities of Mongolia to Category:Muslim ethnic groups of Mongolia
- Category:Muslim communities of the Philippines to Category:Muslim ethnic groups of the Philippines
- Category:Muslim communities in Africa to Category:Muslim ethnic groups of Africa
- Category:Peoples of the Caucasus to Category:Ethnic groups in the Caucasus
- Category:Muslim peoples of the Caucasus to Category:Muslim Ethnic groups in the Caucasus
- Is that right? Should the Africa one be "of Africa" or "in Africa"? Again, when working in this area a clear set of instructions is important. The reason I didn't close this myself is because I couldn't work out how to unambiguously express what to be done. * Pppery * it has begun... 23:55, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
- And, re CFDlister, listing discussions is an explicit action; you have to go to Wikipedia talk:Categories for discussion/Working yourself and press "List discussions" in the "more" menu (things are done this way so that regular CfD closers can list dozens of discussions at once). * Pppery * it has begun... 00:00, 22 March 2026 (UTC)
- @Pppery: correct, and "in Africa". I see, regarding CFDlister; I was trying it at CFD. Iseult Δx talk to me 00:03, 22 March 2026 (UTC)
- That is, the renames to do are:

Question from Noaherkul (11:23, 24 March 2026)
how can i make my own page --Noaherkul (talk) 11:23, 24 March 2026 (UTC)
- @Noaherkul: you can create an article on the English Wikipedia by following the instructions here. Please note that your article subject must be notable, that advertising is prohibited, and that the article must be in English. If you'd prefer your article to be in a different language, let me know; I can direct you to a different branch of Wikipedia. Iseult Δx talk to me 00:07, 25 March 2026 (UTC)
Question from SpeedIOT (13:24, 24 March 2026)
Hello. Id like to create a wikipedia page about a very important person missing. --SpeedIOT (talk) 13:24, 24 March 2026 (UTC)
- @SpeedIOT: hi! If you believe that the person passes our notability guideline (please note that further details may apply), go ahead and follow the instructions here to get started. Iseult Δx talk to me 00:09, 25 March 2026 (UTC)
Question from S982 (05:50, 26 March 2026)
Hello, I want to create a new wikipedia page on a topic. I just want to know what the process for that is like and the timeline? --S982 (talk) 05:50, 26 March 2026 (UTC)
- @S982: first, I'll refer you to articles for creation, which outlines the steps in more detail and allows more specialized editors to review your potential article. Essentially, you first ensure that your topic is notable and appropriate, that you have no conflicts of interest with the topic, then create your article in draftspace (AfC has a big blue button to make things convenient).
- As for a timeline, well, AfC has been backlogged for some time. It will probably be at least two weeks. In order to ensure that your work isn't wasted, I strongly encourage you to review WP:N. If you have any questions at all about notability, let me know. Iseult Δx talk to me 07:58, 26 March 2026 (UTC)

Military vehicle pages don't show average length, width, height, weight, and more of the military vehicles. --Superstar4671 (talk) 21:57, 28 March 2026 (UTC)
- @Superstar467: can you be more specific? I see, for example, that the page for the M1 Abrams does. Iseult Δx talk to me 18:11, 29 March 2026 (UTC)
- Not from any existing vehicles at all. Superstar4671 (talk) 16:07, 2 April 2026 (UTC)
- @Superstar4671: can you point out a page in which this is not present? I’m not sure what you mean at all; the M1 definitely has it. Iseult Δx talk to me 18:08, 2 April 2026 (UTC)

Question from Vond.ourve (16:43, 29 March 2026)
Is it okay to create a wiki about a certain person who had small achievements but huge impact in their communities? --Vond.ourve (talk) 16:43, 29 March 2026 (UTC)
- @Vond.ourve: the standard for articles on the English Wikipedia, in general, is the general notability guideline. Strictly speaking, the answer to your question is that it depends. Do you have more information about the subject? Iseult Δx talk to me 18:16, 29 March 2026 (UTC)
- for instance, he led a community initiative that greatly improved public awareness as such. ~2026-19554-10 (talk) 18:23, 29 March 2026 (UTC)
- @Voud.ourve and ~2026-19554-10: can you provide media coverage of the person? I'm sorry, but I'll need a lot more specifics. Otherwise, can you describe how this person meets each point of the general notability guideline I linked above? Iseult Δx talk to me 18:27, 29 March 2026 (UTC)

Question from Caro pro corvo (12:19, 4 April 2026)
blud how do i make an article --Caro pro corvo (talk) 12:19, 4 April 2026 (UTC)
- @Caro pro corvo:, I'm going to refer you to Help: Your first article. There, you should find a how-to guide for writing an article; the first step is to determine whether your article subject is appropriate for Wikipedia. Iseult Δx talk to me 06:21, 5 April 2026 (UTC)
- I appreciate your reply to my question. But, what are the requirements? Caro pro corvo (talk) 11:28, 5 April 2026 (UTC)
Caro pro corvo: the most general requirement, assuming that you don't have a conflict of interest with the article subject and that the article doesn't already exist in some form, is the general notability guideline. Do you mind if I ask what you have in mind? Iseult Δx talk to me 15:06, 5 April 2026 (UTC)

Question from Christian Grubb (01:32, 5 April 2026)
Hello my name is Christian, I was wondering the best way to get new pages publicized, as I have been working on Kent State edits which includes updated new pages for relevant upcoming seasons. the big one being my draft of the 2026 Kent State Football team. Any advice is appreciated! --Christian Grubb (talk) 01:32, 5 April 2026 (UTC)
- @Christian Grubb: thanks for the detailed question!
- Based on your contribution history, I see that you've created a draft regarding the 2026 team, submitted it via Articles for Creation, and subsequently moved it to articlespace (the default space). It has consequently been nominated for deletion; the nominator asks specifically for the article to be moved back to draftspace. You are confused as to why this is the case when pages like 2026 Ohio State Buckeyes football team exist and have not yet been nominated as such; you have then asked a question on the talk page of your 2026 Kent article to that effect.
- I'll address these as they come.
- You were correct in creating a draft and then submitting it via AfC. However, as a new editor, I'd highly recommend leaving the actual move of the article to an AfC reviewer; their job is to, asides from accepting/rejecting drafts, give you the feedback you have asked for.
- As this is a new article, your article popped up in Special:NewPagesFeed. There, editors like me look for, among other things, articles that don't pass WP:GNG; it's most likely the case that your article was spotted there. You'll see that the fourth bullet of GNG mentions secondary sourcing.
- Your best defense against the nomination is WP:NSEASON. However, you have several pitfalls. The most pressing of this is the lack of good-quality secondary sources. You've added some, yes, but we're looking for something more along the lines of reputable newspapers, magazines, ESPN, etc. It's not readily apparent to me just how reliable Winsipedia or FBSchedules are. Other editors might disagree. If you go back to previous seasons of Kent State or, say, 2014–15 FC Barcelona season, you'll see substantially more than empty boxes. Most of the sources are primary, but there exists out in the Internet sufficient secondary sourcing to replace those. It's just not a priority for editors looking at it at the moment. As you've added only two secondary sources, I take it you're having difficulty finding replacements or supplements.
- The 2026 Ohio State article is in worse shape relative to yours in that regard. This doesn't mean that editors in general have made active decisions to keep it around. There are over seven million articles on this project; we're going to miss some. This section has a bit more about this argument. Suffice it to say, though, that I believe that the Ohio State article, as it stands, ought also to be draftified. I just don't have the time, energy, or interest right now to deal with the inevitable resulting heated discussion.
- In the meantime, keep looking for sources. Your article improvement might turn the tides in the deletion (draftification) discussion. Even if it doesn't, college football starts soon; around/before that time, the need for your article will become apparent to the editing community. Iseult Δx talk to me 06:55, 5 April 2026 (UTC)
- I appreciate the feedback and have gone ahead and added several more secondary sources such as ESPN like you recommended. As to Winsipedia and FBSchedules, these are databases that track college football and are regularly cited by analysts and reporters online. Once again, I appreciate the feedback! Christian Grubb (talk) 07:12, 5 April 2026 (UTC)
- I would like to add that in terms of relevancy, 85/138 FBS teams have a dedicated 2026 article currently which is over 60% which was the primary motivation for me adding the Kent State article, since a majority of the FBS already existed. Hope that helps too! Christian Grubb (talk) 07:32, 5 April 2026 (UTC)

Question from OGMezus (06:27, 11 April 2026)
How can I translate a list? --OGMezus (talk) 06:27, 11 April 2026 (UTC)

Question from BrendenAaronsonfan37 (07:56, 13 April 2026)
Hi! I got a weird question... But you just gotta listen a bit... I started this editing stuff a month ago and... All I did was put teams in the Verbandspokal and put new scorelines in these german leagues Now... Do you think that I should try more "complex" editing? Or should I stick with these simple, little edits? --BrendenAaronsonfan37 (talk) 07:56, 13 April 2026 (UTC)
- BrendenAaronsonfan37, there's nothing like learning by doing! If you're worried about messing things up, start slow, listen to feedback other editors give you, and ask for help even if you don't think you need it. Iseult Δx talk to me 08:08, 13 April 2026 (UTC)
- Well I don't know what to edit now...
- Could you please give me like a suggestion...? BrendenAaronsonfan37 (talk) 08:13, 13 April 2026 (UTC)
- BrendenAaronsonfan37, big mood! If you look on my user page for my to-do list, you’ll see that, in thirteen years here, I’ve come up with exactly like five things I want to expand. We’re in the same boat here.
- What I can recommend is that you take a look at WP:BACKLOG, try your hand at anti-vandal work, perhaps via WP:RTRC (I supplement this with Twinkle and Ultraviolet), or join a WikiProject dedicated to coverage of certain subjects. What are you generally interested in? You don’t have to want to write new articles. Iseult Δx talk to me 17:17, 13 April 2026 (UTC)
- I'm interested in football
- Football articles are the only ones I edit
- Actually, right now i'm adding some scorelines on some articles!
- But other than that,nothing much really... BrendenAaronsonfan37 (talk) 18:26, 13 April 2026 (UTC)
- BrendenAaronsonfan37, that’s great! Do take a look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Football; you’ll find more people in that line and will hopefully be adding scores etc. to many, many more articles. Iseult Δx talk to me 19:30, 13 April 2026 (UTC)
