Commas and royalty
Please stop adding commas to the leads of royalty so they as such 'Princess Augusta Reuss, Junior Line (Auguste Mathilde Wilhelmine Reuß; 26 May 1822 – 3 March 1862), was' it is incorrect grammar.
Just look at today's featured article Hurra-yi Khuttali which does not include a comma after the name. You have already been reverted for this so please refrain from changing this on other articles without getting consensus e.g. at a relevant WP:Manual of Style page. Traumnovelle (talk) 21:14, 10 August 2025 (UTC)
- @Traumnovelle: I have already explained (with agreement from the other user) why I added the comma and linked to a discussion where the consensus was to include the comma. J3133 (talk) 04:32, 11 August 2025 (UTC)
- Also note that in other instances the comma was already there before being removed by ItsShandog. You do not seem to understand the purpose of this comma either by linking to Hurra-yi Khuttali; the case here is the title with a parenthetical comma as indicated in the discussion (@Celia Homeford). J3133 (talk) 04:35, 11 August 2025 (UTC)
- You should not edit-war over it. Traumnovelle (talk) 04:52, 11 August 2025 (UTC)
- @Traumnovelle: I am not edit-warring—the user agreed with the change as I already mentioned. Furthermore, the comma, for instance, in Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh was already there; the remover would be edit-warring. J3133 (talk) 04:55, 11 August 2025 (UTC)
- That isn't how edit warring works and I advise you to familiarise yourself with the policy. Traumnovelle (talk) 04:56, 11 August 2025 (UTC)
- @Traumnovelle: In this case you are disruptively reverting against the consensus. J3133 (talk) 04:57, 11 August 2025 (UTC)
- As indicated in the policy, reverting to enforce consensus is not edit-warring. J3133 (talk) 04:59, 11 August 2025 (UTC)
- No, edit warring to the 'correct version' is still edit-warring. Traumnovelle (talk) 05:02, 11 August 2025 (UTC)
- There is no such text in the policy. You also have yet to address the issue after misunderstanding the comma. J3133 (talk) 05:04, 11 August 2025 (UTC)
- There is no such exemption in the policy see WP:3RRNO Traumnovelle (talk) 05:26, 11 August 2025 (UTC)
- @Traumnovelle: I have not made three reverts. Re the issue which you do not address, here are examples from featured articles: Luís Alves de Lima e Silva, Duke of Caxias, Prince William, Duke of Gloucester. J3133 (talk) 05:28, 11 August 2025 (UTC)
- There is no such exemption in the policy see WP:3RRNO Traumnovelle (talk) 05:26, 11 August 2025 (UTC)

Wikipedia and copyright
Hello J3133! Your additions to Florence Mars have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible copyright license—to request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, it's important to understand and adhere to guidelines about using information from sources to prevent copyright and plagiarism issues. Here are the key points:
- Limited quotation: You may only copy or translate a small portion of a source. Any direct quotations must be enclosed in double quotation marks (") and properly cited using an inline citation. More information is available on the non-free content page. To learn how to cite a source, see Help:Referencing for beginners.
- Paraphrasing: Beyond limited quotations, you are required to put all information in your own words. Following the source's wording too closely can lead to copyright issues and is not permitted; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when paraphrasing, you must still cite your sources as appropriate.
- Image use guidelines: In most scenarios, only freely licensed or public domain images may be used and these should be uploaded to our sister project, Wikimedia Commons. In some scenarios, non-freely copyrighted content can be used if they meet all ten of our non-free content criteria; Wikipedia:Plain and simple non-free content guide may help with determining a file's eligibility.
- Copyrighted material donation: If you hold the copyright to the content you want to copy, or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license the text for publication here. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Copying and translation within Wikipedia: Wikipedia articles can be copied or translated, however they must have proper attribution in accordance with Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. For translation, see Help:Translation § Licensing.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices. Persistent failure to comply may result in being blocked from editing. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. MCE89 (talk) 11:35, 10 September 2025 (UTC)
- @MCE89: I did change the text, but specifying her education and work ultimately results in it being similar to the NYT article. J3133 (talk) 11:47, 10 September 2025 (UTC)
- It's true that there are only so many ways to present that kind of information, but your paraphrasing is still far too close to the NYT article. You've presented exactly the same details in exactly the same order, and have preserved much of the source's wording. If you click on "iThenticate report" at this link, you can see where your addition overlapped with the source. You might find WP:FIXCLOSEPARA helpful for avoiding this kind of close paraphrasing in future. MCE89 (talk) 12:01, 10 September 2025 (UTC)
