Sock puppetry
I used CheckUser and the connection is
Possible. PhilKnight (talk) 01:29, 22 May 2025 (UTC)
- I was also reading Chris Murphy, looking for any useful edits, then in the infobox, Murphy had a prefix saying "Senator" and Dafendlynotnoob exactly did the same thing- but to Dave McCormick. And his username was Crhis Mruphy or something like that, and that means he could also be a sockpuppet of Dafendlynotnoob. Have a great day! Jetwindy (talk) 22:17, 22 May 2025 (UTC)
- And also talking about the sockpuppetry, I think Howard Lutnick and Chris Murphy articles should be protected so that autoconfirmed users+ can edit it because they have been vandalized by socks of Dafendlynotnoob. Feel free to reply to any of these replies! Jetwindy (talk) 22:20, 22 May 2025 (UTC)
Richard Blumenthal photo
Hi Jetwindy,
I think we can still come to some understanding or at least take our conversation to the talk page for Richard Blumenthal to try to discuss the disagreement we are current having in the edits to his infobox image. I decided to try about 6 months ago to update senator photos after reading the discussion on the talk page about Bernie Sanders.
I think the test for photos is:
- 1. Is it current (from their current elected term)
- 2. Is it sufficiently legible as the politician (it's not unclear)
- 3. Is it high enough resolution
I understand that you are most focused on issue #3, while I'm giving equal weight to all three. In any case, we should try to reach consensus on the talk page rather than edit warring over the infobox image. If we can get a lot of input I'm happy to go with the consensus decision. Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Edward Wormley, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. See MOS:OVERLINK. CodeTalker (talk) 00:34, 22 January 2026 (UTC)
- Also, please check a dictionary and familiarize yourself with the difference between "its" and "it's". Thank you. CodeTalker (talk) 00:36, 22 January 2026 (UTC)

Jean Jenkins edit
Hi. Are you sure that a description of a former AD senator's range of portfolios is "unnecessary"--especially when the subheading is "Range of portfolios"? You may not be aware that the Democrats covered the full spread of ministerial actions and policies, and each Democrat senator was committed to a number of those portfolios. - Sorry about that, if Wikipedia says that it should be deleted, we can try to remove any extra stuff that possibly makes the paragraph too large. I guess AI isn't always right? ♠★thanks!♠♠ PolishHamster (talk) 21:20, 3 February 2026 (UTC)

Question from Nafeletik (18:35, 24 February 2026)
Hello, just wanted to know, any edits go thru approval first? If yes, how long does it take to approve? And same rules are applied for creating a pages? Thank you --Nafeletik (talk) 18:35, 24 February 2026 (UTC)
- Most people under 10 edits and under 4 days of experience need to solve a CAPTCHA when they are editing.
- IF you want to make an article, I suggest using your sandbox. Please reply when you have created your sandbox and started to draft an article. I will send you a welcoming too, which has all the useful tips for you.

Question from Popeadam (14:43, 25 February 2026)
Hi PolishHamster, I've created the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:1940s_color_films category, and it's now as comprehensive as I can make it. Three films are missing however, as my edit rights aren't high enough:
Dumbo Song of the South Fantasia
Are you able to add them please? There are links to them on the category talk page.... --Popeadam (talk) 14:43, 25 February 2026 (UTC)
- I think you can't add them because you haven't made them yet. Please make an article about the film and add it to the category. Then I think it'll work.
- Best, ~~PolishHamsteryeah 14:51, 25 February 2026 (UTC)
- The articles about the films are here:
- Song of the South
- Dumbo
- Fantasia (1940 film)
- The reason I can't edit them is because I'm a noob. Popeadam (talk) 14:53, 25 February 2026 (UTC)
- Yes. The article for Dumbo Song of the South Fantasia does not exist yet.
- Use your sandbox to draft articles.
- On your welcome on your talk page, there should be some extra guides for creating articles.
- Best, ~~PolishHamsteryeah 14:53, 25 February 2026 (UTC)
- Don't worry, someone else was able to add the category to the articles @PolishHamster.... Popeadam (talk) 17:44, 25 February 2026 (UTC)
Temporary account IP viewer granted

Hello, PolishHamster. Per your request, your account has been granted temporary-account-viewer rights. You are now able to reveal the IP addresses of individuals using temporary accounts that are not visible to the general public. This is very sensitive information that is only to be used to aid in anti-abuse workflows. Please take a moment to review Wikipedia:Temporary account IP viewer for more information on this user right. It is important to remember:
- You must not share IP address data with someone who does not have the same access permissions unless disclosure is permissible as per guidelines listed at Foundation:Policy:Wikimedia Access to Temporary Account IP Addresses Policy.
- Access must not be used for political control, to apply pressure on editors, or as a threat against another editor in a content dispute. There must be a valid reason to investigate a temporary user. Note that using multiple temporary accounts is not forbidden, so long as they are not used in violation of policies (for example, block or ban evasion).
It is also important to note that the following actions are logged for others to see:
- When a user accepts the preference that enables or disables IP reveal for their account.
- Revealing an IP address of a temporary account.
- Listing the temporary accounts that are associated with one or more IP addresses (using the CIDR notation format).
Remember, even if a user is violating policy, avoid revealing personal information if possible. Use temporary account usernames rather than disclosing IP addresses directly, or give information such as same network/not same network or similar. If you do not want the user right anymore then please ask me or another administrator and it will be removed for you. You may also voluntarily give up access at any time by visiting Special:Preferences. Happy editing! — rsjaffe 🗣️ 02:31, 27 February 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you. I'd like to ask, if I find block evasions and sockpuppetry, do I report it to users with CheckUser rights?
- Best, ~~PolishHamsteryeah 12:33, 27 February 2026 (UTC)
- You may report block evasion and sockpuppetry at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations. Mz7 (talk) 07:31, 2 March 2026 (UTC)
Red links
Hello, PolishHamster. I have noticed that you have been removing a lot of red links (like this one) from articles with the edit summary "dead" (e.g. ). Please be aware that red links can be useful—they're not necessarily "dead" links; rather, they're potential new articles. Red links help encourage editors to create more articles about notable topics by indicating where they would be useful. We shouldn't remove red links just because they are red. The next time you remove a red link, it would be helpful if you could explain in the edit summary why the red link would not be useful in that case (e.g. if the target of the link is a non-notable topic). For more information, see our guideline at Wikipedia:Red link. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions. Thanks, Mz7 (talk) 07:29, 2 March 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you for the info. Pages like this one have WAY too many dead links, mainly actors in the movie and links for characters. Thank you for the advice.
- Best, ~~PolishHamsteryeah 21:41, 2 March 2026 (UTC)
Pending changes reviewer granted

Hello. Your account has been granted the "pending changes reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on pages protected by pending changes. The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges, while the list of articles that have pending changes protection turned on is located at Special:StablePages.
Being granted reviewer rights neither grants you status nor changes how you can edit articles. If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.

Hi, PolishHamster. Thanks for patrolling new pages. I've declined your deletion request for a page that you tagged for speedy deletion, because the criterion you used or the reason you gave does not cover this kind of page. Please take a moment to read the new tutorial for patrollers, criteria for speedy deletion, and particularly, the section covering non-criteria. Such pages are best tagged with proposed deletion or proposed deletion for biographies of living persons, or sent to the appropriate deletion discussion. Thanks! ~2026-14944-70 (talk) 21:53, 16 March 2026 (UTC)
- I was looking for ones without reliable/no refs.
- Best, ~~PolishHamsteryeah 22:58, 16 March 2026 (UTC)
- Having no references is quite explicitly not a WP:CSD, see WP:NOTCSD. Please remember to WP:PROD articles or list them at WP:AFD unless they meet one of the very specific and narrow criteria for speedy deletion. Remember the only advantage of speedy deletion over other forms of deletion is volume management; it is inferior in every other way. ~2026-14944-70 (talk) 23:22, 16 March 2026 (UTC)
Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your recent edits to Paget Henry when you modified the page, you introduced unknown parameters. Just because you specify |some_param=some_variable does not always mean that variable will display. The |some_param= must be defined in the template. You can look at the documentation for the template you are using but it is also helpful to use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and ensure that the values you have added are displaying correctly. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show you what the page will look like without actually saving it. It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. Note I have likely fixed the error by now so check the history of the page to see how it was fixed. If you have any questions, contact the help desk for assistance.

- Before making an article, you need to go through basic editing practices, until you understand Wikipedia's quality and notability guidelines.
- A note is that a person like your math teacher may not be notable, which doesn't fit for an article.
- A good way to start developing articles is in your sandbox, where you can develop your article step by step.
- Please see WP:YFA for a good run-though of Wikipedia's policies.

Yo, hi, editor of the above page here, could I get some details on what I did wrong exactly? Saying it's not "constructive" is confusing enough, but the history then has it listed as "Vandalism" which is just... what?
Is it simply a matter of not sourcing every individual event? Because that's an easy enough fix. The page IS severely lacking & inaccurate.
EDIT (11:30 UTC): nevermind they've clarified it is indeed just the sourcing, I'll get right on it.
~2026-13094-87 (talk) 09:36, 24 March 2026 (UTC)
- Sorry about that. I quickly filled in the edit summary using Ultraviolet.
- The reason I reverted your edit was it lacked sources and failed to comply with Wikipedia's verifiability policy.
