Probably notable, but there are major sourcing issues. Lenta.ru is a blacklisted source, while sources 3 and 6 are deprecated. There are also portions of the draft which are wholly uncited.

more sourcing required. parts of the article is unsourced; Politics section is unsourced. Not interested in self-description i.e. The party describes itself as democratic and socialist, comparable to the Australian Labor Party (ALP). Any sources to back this up?

Indonesian Democratic Union Party moved to draftspace and duplicate (Fixed)

Draftspace moving

An article you recently created, Indonesian Democratic Union Party, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Maliner (talk) 05:22, 21 October 2023 (UTC)

Hai @Maliner, Sorry to interupt. I think there had been a slight technical issue when you moved it to draft space. Firstly though, I'd like to tell you that in no way or intention that i did this on purpose.
So what I think happened is that, during your moving to draft space, I was in the process of editing said article. Without immediate notification, I submitted my edit. This might explain why there's two articles on this issue. One in Draft space and one still up. I'd follow through but what would be the best course of action here? Kaliper1 (talk) 08:59, 21 October 2023 (UTC)
I'd reckon on merging the one still up to my draft space (if thats possible). That way I can conserve my efforts easily and without much edit conflicts. Though the final decision rest with you and I'll follow through. Cheers, Kaliper1 (talk) 09:06, 21 October 2023 (UTC)

Move page Information

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Indonesian Democratic Union Party. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 01:44, 22 October 2023 (UTC)

Hai @Liz. Oh yes I noticed that also. I think what happened is that, during a moving to draft space by Maliner, I was in the process of editing said article. Without immediate notification, I submitted my edit. This might explain why there's two articles on this issue. One in Draft space and one still up. As of now I'm still trying to communicate with Maliner about this. I'd follow through, but with no respose, what would be the best course of action here? Cheers, Kaliper1 (talk) 08:59, 21 October 2023 (UTC)
Usually New page patroller wait for 1 hour unless there is inuse tag there on the article. It is your fault that you don't improve the article either in an hour or place the inuse tag over it. We expect a complete article to remain in mainspace. Remember next time, if you are improving your newly created article use inuse tag over it, so that patroller won't get confused. And follow the best practice to improve your articles in draft space till it is ready for main space. Nothing to do here, as your new article has sources now. Or you can ask the admin for history merge if you want. Maliner (talk) 15:44, 23 October 2023 (UTC)
Ok, Noted. I'll certainly keep that in mind, thanks for the reply. Kaliper1 (talk) 16:02, 24 October 2023 (UTC)

Ways to improve Indonesian Socialist Youth

Hello, Kaliper1,

Thank you for creating Indonesian Socialist Youth.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

I found an article at https://www.jstor.org/stable/10.5728/indonesia.92.0019 about the Madiun affair which could be used to improve the article. Also this book https://www.jstor.org/stable/27751583 about the cold war in Indonesia. This book https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/14672710902809351 is the The Anticommunist Killings of 1965–66 and the Role of the Nahdlatul Ulama, despite the name it references 1948 Madiun Affair. These resources are available through the Wikipedia Library https://wikipedialibrary.wmflabs.org/?next_url=/users/my_library/.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|TarnishedPath}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Your submission at Articles for creation: Luo Fangbo (July 17)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Prince of Erebor was:
Hi @Kaliper1: This is a very decent and well-written piece of work! I only have a few minor concerns. Firstly, Weixinyidu, WP:GLOBALTIMES (source 9, quoted from Sina), and China Central Television are not reliable sources. The first one is user-generated content, and the last two are deemed unreliable per consensus (See WP:GLOBALTIMES and WP:CGTN), so you may consider replacing them with better sources. Secondly, the last paragraph in the Southern Crossing section is not cited. I believe it should be cited with one of the sources listed previously in the same section, but was left out, so I will leave this for you to add the appropriate citation. Lastly, I think his death may deserve a new section, so the "In 1795, 19 years after..." paragraph may need to be rewritten and placed under a new subsection called Death or something like that. This is not compulsory, and I leave the decision to you, but I personally think it would improve the flow of the article. I have also done some minor tweaks. As I said this article is very well-composed, so none of them are big deals. Just remember to italicize newspaper names per MOS:ITALIC for future edits. Please reach out to me on my talk page if you have finished revising or need any further assistance. Cheers.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Hi, yes that's true. Its not mentioned much or at all in the target page due to the local nature of the name. But its is a common alternative name for Lo Fang Pak for the locals in the Landak Regency in Kalimantan but not outside of Landak. This is because this is an agglomeration of the Dutch-Hakka name. Lo Fang Pak being the Hakka name and 'De Thaiko' being a title given to refer to him by the Dutch. There are many Klenteng the purported his alternate name as 'Lo Thai Pak' in the Mandor area even his supposed cemetery refers to the alternative name. eg. from Mandor locals 1, 2, 3. I'll send you an email soon enough, Cheers! Kaliper1 (talk) 04:44, 1 December 2024 (UTC)
My pleasure. Rahmatdenas (talk) 05:20, 1 December 2024 (UTC)
Ohya, the photos from Madjid Usman's book that you scanned, I have the original files from the author. Some of them I uploaded to the same drive. Rahmatdenas (talk) 05:39, 1 December 2024 (UTC)
I see! trying to get a hold of said book was... a hassle to say the least. I've had to talk to a local Padang Book store during my visit to convince them to borrow the book and then to finally scan said photos at a local print shop. Quality wise was debatable. I've just checked the photos you've sent me, the quality is unspeakably amazing; and one I've never seen before. In due time, I'll try to update the commons upload soon enough, I thank you so very much. Kaliper1 (talk) 06:42, 1 December 2024 (UTC)

Thanks for Syria map

Thank you very much for making that Syria map based on the ISW-CTP source. Chessrat changed the Syrian Civil War page's map to your version. I don't think my proposal would have succeeded without you making the map. —Korakys (talk) 10:20, 13 December 2024 (UTC)

Pleasure's all mine, Korakys. In actuality, I had this map file for days just as personal project on what if the criteria's of the civil war followed suit to that of the Russo-Ukrainian War as, being a former editor for the Russo-Ukranian War Team, I've always deemed Live.Ua as being a bit... off? I didn't think it would be a contentious topic until now, seeing what happened. I didn't even think there's a demand to switch to ISW even. Wow! Kaliper1 (talk) 10:58, 13 December 2024 (UTC)

Bung Kaliper1 mungkin berminat buat menerjemahkan ke enwiki dan mungkin menambahkan konten pada artikel id:Mitos penjajahan 350 tahun. Glorious Engine (talk) 08:23, 5 August 2025 (UTC)

Halo @Glorious Engine, the article on the 350 Years is quite relatively controversial and fairly relatively a new concept. I would love to expand the article one day, however it's too early to determine such as it needs deeper more comprehensive sources. Ideally from academic journals, which are currently lacking. At the moment, most of the available references are limited to online news outlets and tabloids. I plan to wait until the Ministry of Education or members of the historical rewriting committee release their book or official findings. Until then, there's not much I can contribute just yet. Thank you for your work in creating articles. At this point, you really don't have to use AfC; you can just publish them. It kinda wastes reviewer's time. Anywho, thank you for your contributions! Keep it up, and I hope to see more! veko. (user | talk | contribs) 21:39, 4 September 2025 (UTC)
Ho, Thank you so much! I never thought that it wastes reviewer's time. Very sorry! I had assumed it was best practice to seek a second opinion for your work by going through the AfC process. Not to mention WP:TIND. Cheers, Kaliper¹t. 04:16, 5 September 2025 (UTC)
@Kaliper1 No worries! It's honestly not that much of an issue, you are free to use AfC if you wish. You are simply encouraged to not use it if you don't need support from reviewers. AfC was created mainly for new users, and with the experience you have, I think that it's fine for you to take them straight to the main space. Of course, you can still use the draft space for drafting articles but, submitting through AfC isn't needed.
If anything is wrong with your article, it'll likely be reviewed and tagged via the new page patrol process. They'll tag and notify you of issues, such as notability, MoS, etc, so you'll still be able to get that second opinion. At some point, you might be able to get autopatrolled right where your pages are automatically reviewed. Happy editing~! veko. (user | talk | contribs) 17:37, 5 September 2025 (UTC)

Voluntary Under Occupation?

Hey, Kaliper1. Since you’ve been digging into the topic of the Japanese occupation in Sumatra, I came across an interesting news piece about a huge public “donation” (page 2) around f100,000 to buy an airplane. For comparison, f100,000 roughly equivalent to the cost of building the Padang cityhall in the Dutch East Indies at the time.

This caught my attention because, beyond the forced labor and exploitation we usually talk about, there were also these publicized “donations,” though of course we should be skeptical (given that publications were tightly controlled by the Japanese). How should we place this in context? And another thing: I’m curious about the abbreviation PTB. I’m so curious and can’t stop myself from asking you. Rahmatdenas (talk) Rahmatdenas (talk) 09:27, 22 November 2025 (UTC)

In the Sumatran case, there seems to be little documentation on how these kinds of “donations” actually operated. For Java, by contrast, we know that the Japanese established the Fonds Perang dan Kemerdekaan (War and Independence Fund), collected via Jawa Hokokai. Officially this was framed as sumbangan or a national loan, and people recall handing over gold, jewellery, and other valuables. One oft-cited example, Hafni Zahra Abu Hanifah, remembered taking off her gold bracelets and giving them as a "national loan," under the influence of Japanese wartime propaganda (see: https://www.historia.id/article/dana-awal-pendirian-republik-6alg9). However, given that the 16th Army in Java is generally described as more "lenient" than the 25th Army in Sumatra, I am hesitant to assume that the same mechanisms and pressures applied in exactly the same way in West Sumatra, especially in the context of late-war when resources were already extremely scarce.
For Sumatra specifically, we do know that Japanese-controlled newspapers such as Kita Sumatora Sinbun in East Sumatra functioned quite explicitly as propaganda organs of the military government. A study by Budi Agustono et al. (https://talentaconfseries.usu.ac.id/lwsa/article/download/1122/877/) characterises the paper as a daily used to disseminate propaganda on education, youth mobilisation, logistics, and "people’s needs," with all content subordinated to mobilising support for the Greater East Asia War. The same study notes how Japanese officials publicly made "donations" to Islamic associations, mosque renovations, and similar causes, and then ensured these gestures were prominently reported in the press as evidence of Japan’s benevolence and supposed shared ideals with local Muslims. The same could apply in reverse.
If I had to venture an educated guess for West Sumatra, given the shuchokan’s political balancing act vis-à-vis the penghulu class (who are listed among the donors), I suspect that merchants and local notables contributed a substantial portion of a sum as large as f100,000. For them this may have been a mixture of political calculation (purchasing goodwill) and pressure to perform loyalty. In that sense, I would read the entire episode primarily as a carefully staged propaganda operation, even if it did involve real financial sacrifice on the part of some participants. Particularly to signal personal sacrifice was helpful and encouraged by the Japanese.
As for the abreviation,... [below] Kaliper¹t. 12:27, 22 November 2025 (UTC)
I’m inclined to read the abbreviation "P.T.B." as Paduka Tuan Besar, essentially "His Excellency." In occupation-era Malay / Indonesian, high officials were often addressed as Paduka Tuan / Padoeka Toean, sometimes abbreviated in print as "P.T." or "P.t." before their name. You can see similar usage with civilian leaders like Wongsonegoro in Sinar Baru, where he appears as "P.t. Wongsonegoro" and is then described as the pemimpin daerah paling tinggi (highest local leader) (see Kemdikbud, Sejarah Berita Proklamasi: https://www.scribd.com/document/392431517/Sejarah-Berita-Proklamasi-by-Kemdikbud). In other documents from the same period, Japanese officials such as syuutyoo / syuutyookan are addressed as Padoeka Toean in full (for example: https://www.yumpu.com/nl/document/view/20150007/p3gi-badan-perpustakaan-dan-kearsipan-provinsi-jawa-timur). The term is not common today because of its association with the older hierarchical order, both in relation to Malay nobility and the Javanese priyayi, and has largely been replaced by the more neutral "Bapak" or "Ibu." An Antara piece ("‘Bapak’ dan ‘Ibu’ tidak dikenal dalam sebutan resmi") talks such, including the phrase "P.T. (Paduka Tuan) bagi Gubernur KDH dan pembesar-pembesar di daerah lainnya...": https://www.antaranews.com/berita/558469/antara-doeloe-bapak-dan-ibu-tidak-dikenal-dalam-sebutan-resmi.
P.T.B. itself has a longer history that goes back to the late colonial bureaucracy, where it was used as part of very standard high-official styles and honorifics. Numerous colonial-era documents refer, for instance, to "Sri Padoeka Toean Besar Resident Riouw" or similar formulations for Residents and Governors (one modern court document that cites such phrasing is here: https://bphn.go.id/data/documents/62-2012.pdf). The British Library’s description of a Riau land grant also includes the wording “in the name of Sri Padoeka Toean Besar Resident Riau…” (see: https://eap.bl.uk/archive-file/EAP153-1-15). Under Japanese rule this usage seems to have been partially carried over from the old aristocratic and colonial context to the new occupiers. A study of Borneo Barat Shinbun quotes an article, "Soesoenan keperintahan di Pontianak" (30 September 1942), describing the Japanese administration: "...bagian pemerintahan diurus oleh Paduka Tuan Sigeeda... dan bagian urusan umum diurus langsung oleh P.T. Besar Yoneda." In this passage both P.T. and P.T.B. appear and clearly signal different ranks within the hierarchy (see: https://jurnal.untan.ac.id/index.php/jpdpb/article/download/47492/75676589679). Taken together, “P.T.B.” as Paduka Tuan Besar seems like a very plausible reading in my case: it fits both the older colonial honorific usage and the way occupation-era Malay texts adapted those styles to Japanese officials. Hope that helps, Kaliper¹t. 12:51, 22 November 2025 (UTC)
@Rahmatdenas well, going back to the first question, I would also assume such act as not being as prevalent in occupied SumBar society and its people, unless you might have additional sources/news/occurrences of such events? It's best assume it's just for the context of propaganda; to stir up goodwill and the image of Sacrifice for Dai Nippon. I can't seem to personally find any war bond payments, wealth donations, or similar mechanics for West Sumatra (as seen in occupied Java by the 16th Army, other than the forced seizure of resource. Kaliper¹t. 05:24, 24 November 2025 (UTC)
Thanks for the explanation, Kaliper1. You’ve clearly put a lot of work into piecing this together, and it really shows. I’ll keep the more skeptical angle in mind, and I’m also planning to cross-check it with other contemporary sources that weren’t as tightly controlled (maybe memoirs or any ideas?) to get a clearer sense of how these “donations” actually played out in West Sumatra. Your submission at Articles for creation: Western Southeast Asia (December 2)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Smallangryplanet was:
Neologisms are not considered suitable for Wikipedia unless they receive substantial use and press coverage; this requires strong evidence in independent, reliable, published sources. Links to sites specifically intended to promote the neologism itself do not establish its notability.
The comment the reviewer left was:
Reviewing the citations, it looks like this content, where verifiable and in RS, would be better suited for United National Liberation Front of Western South East Asia, which seems to be the context (as this article draft itself says!) where this term is used.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

@Smallangryplanet.
checkY Merge completed to Insurgency in Northeast India instead. As the term "Western Southeast Asia" is not exclusively used by United National Liberation Front of Western South East Asia. Theres also CorCom and Federation. Kaliper¹t. 02:12, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
Makes sense to me! Thank you. Smallangryplanet (talk) 08:30, 3 December 2025 (UTC)

On your Draft:Baguio Conference

Good day @Kaliper1, I'm a Wikipedia editor from the Philippines. While trying to check sources for another draft I was making, I noticed the draft you also have on the 1950 diplomatic meetings. The number of entries I had in a Google Scholar search makes this an interesting article.

I admit I haven't read the sources yet, but I'm here to tell that in case you need resources (which. can access through IA or my university library) or a possible collaboration in working on the content, you can ping me. I'll read on the Baguio Conference in my free time, but it might be cool if you have an outline already in mind while you were working on the article. RFNirmala (talk) 07:48, 31 January 2026 (UTC)

Hi @RFNirmala, Very sorry for the late response, I've just checked my talk page and missed this. (oops). For my Draft, I used to put alot of these sources in a notepad, I'll try listing the ones I could remember. Here; Kaliper¹t. 07:11, 11 March 2026 (UTC)

Papers:
heres for the quote; https://www.facebook.com/quirinoorg/mentions/ credited to the Elpidio Quirino Foundation, from a commemorative filipino stamp. I once saw on ebay also. Though I've lost the link by now. And heres the house where it all happenned https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mansion_(Baguio), which very briefly talked about the Southeast Asian Union (SEAU). Kaliper¹t. 07:33, 11 March 2026 (UTC)
Abit of a fun fact; The formation of the organization went into a proposal, nearly was made. But it was shut down by Jawaharlal Nehru and his delegation after being surprised by logos or texts displaying "South East Asian Union (SEAU)" during one of the meetings. Being Non-Aligned and all, he thought it was abit to far. Who knows, had this pass, ASEAN might not even exist or perhaps Carlos Romulo's and President Quirino's vision for a Federated Southeast Asia might come to fruition by the 21st century. Its worthy to become its own article, with many pictures in the public domain thanks to the Filipino Government. Though, alot is in my hands today haha. Kaliper¹t. 07:44, 11 March 2026 (UTC)
https://eresources.nlb.gov.sg/newspapers/digitised/article/straitstimes19490829-1.2.36 Its one out of 3 proposals for a union. one of which being Pridi's South East Asian Union. Whilst all these proposals stemmed from the same Asian Relations Conference back in 1947. A segment of SEA members within the congress had separated in opposition for getting sidelined during the conference, thus left the conference to neighboring Rangoon, Burma for their own SEA oriented talks, which agreed in creating an organization. Thus led to Pridi's own organization (see: Asian_Relations_Conference#Result). Whilst another segment of SEA Members want a second continuation of the Asian Relations Conference, leading to the Baguio Conference. Both of which were a failure.
