  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.

We have spoken before about the use of AI to generate drafts. It leaves an unmistakeable fingerprint almost impossible for a human editor to emulate. Your stated profession means that you are far better than this and have no need to use shortcuts that are doomed to failure. I know you can write yourself. Please do so.

Self-published material has been supplemented with official and academic sources, and speculative or promotional language has been removed. I am concerned that you are unhappy

Thank you for your message on my talk page. I have responded, as I am sure you have seen.

Wikipedia is not a gentle place, nor is it easy to write for. Writing articles here was the hardest writing task I have ever set myself, and I had setbacks along the way.

Your work here is valuable. I value it. It just got off to a difficult start. I hope you regroup (can an individual actually do that?) and continue here. 🇵🇸🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦🇵🇸 08:46, 3 June 2025 (UTC)

Giuseppe Coppola moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Giuseppe Coppola, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Mccapra (talk) 21:04, 29 December 2025 (UTC)

Hi Mccapra - Thanks for the feedback. I’ve added two additional sources that are reliable and independent: the Enciclopedia Italiana (Treccani) and a recent doctoral dissertation. I've checked to make sure all claims are fully cited. I’ve resubmitted the draft via AfC for review. Kned Wiki (talk) 05:12, 30 December 2025 (UTC)

Your submission at Articles for creation: Giuseppe Coppola (December 30)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by ChrysGalley was:
This submission is not adequately supported by reliable sources. Reliable sources are required so that information can be verified. If you need help with referencing, please see Referencing for beginners and Citing sources.
The comment the reviewer left was:
I suspect this subject is notable under WP:ANYBIO but unfortunately the sources are not sufficient to accept this draft in the current form. There is one academic paper with a single passing reference to the subject. There is an encyclopedia entry with also a single passing reference (and being tertiary does not count here). And the town blog site, which does have more information. Wikimedia doesn't help here either. Really there ideally should be three pieces of significant coverage, and maybe some wriggle room on that, but at the moment this is well short of the notability guidelines.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.
ChrysGalley (talk) 10:28, 30 December 2025 (UTC)
Hi @ChrysGalley, thank you for the careful review and for outlining the notability concerns so clearly.
Since the rejection, I’ve revised the draft to address the sourcing issue directly. In particular, I’ve added an independent municipal biographical source published by the Comune di Erice (Ufficio Toponomastica) (E-Note biografiche, p. 39, Strada 625), which contains a dedicated biographical entry on Giuseppe Coppola with substantial coverage of his activities in 1848 and 1860.
This source is independent of the subject and of local blogs, and I’ve updated the draft so that the core biographical claims are supported by this municipal publication rather than by Trapani Nostra.
In addition, the draft retains a recent doctoral thesis (Fenoglio 2023) for academic context and a Treccani reference for verification of Coppola’s participation in the Expedition of the Thousand.
Before resubmitting, I wanted to ask whether the addition of an official municipal biographical register providing substantial coverage would be considered sufficient to meet notability expectations for a 19th-century historical figure under WP:ANYBIO, or whether you would still recommend locating a second comparable secondary work (e.g. a published historical monograph).
Thanks again for your time and guidance. Kned Wiki (talk) 11:25, 30 December 2025 (UTC)
Thanks for the note @Kned Wiki. Firstly can you please not use LLM? We spend much of our day fighting the stupid things that LLM sends our way, and it gets more than annoying when we even get messages in LLM! I'm sure your English is OK, and if it's not it can be fixed easily, but the damage caused by LLM is not so easy to fix. LLM is not your friend.
But to answer the question, yes the Town Council version is much better as a source location than an unofficial blog. Though this is not a requirement, it would be better if you could add more parameters to that source, just so it is clearer as to the quality of the source. Some people will incorrectly say it is a primary source, which is not the case, but putting in more parameters will make that clearer.
However this still leaves a requirement for multiple sourcing and at the moment the article relies heavily on just one source, though it is a good source. So really you need to find something more, in a book or newspaper perhaps. Hopefully you will find another good source. ChrysGalley (talk) 11:41, 30 December 2025 (UTC)
Hi @ChrysGalley — thanks for the clarification. Since your note, I managed to find a book on historical inscriptions written by the Center for Garibaldi Risorgimento Studies, which I think is an authoritative source. Coppola isn't the focus of the book, which essentially is a cataloguing of Risorgimento commemorative inscriptions. However, it includes information on who the person was and why they were commemorated. There's also a full transcription of the text on the commemoration. Though I had photographed the commemorative plaques and Coppola's bust in Erice, the book now replaces the wikicommons images as "proof" and also confirmation of the key facts about Coppola's life. I've resubmitted the article. Hopefully it will be good now. If you search for "Giuseppe Coppola" in the URL provided in the citation, you'll find the passages about him. Kned Wiki (talk) 13:05, 30 December 2025 (UTC)
Hi @ChrysGalley Happy New Year! I thought I'd let you know that I've done quite a bit more work on the article and I'm feeling rather proud of it now. I managed to find at least two sources with substantial information on Coppola (a newspaper article and a book on Risorgimento commemorations). I can't add anything more now, but next time I visit Sicily, I'll go to the library in Trapani or Erice, where I'll hopefully be able to find more information on his family life etc. It's all about continuous improvement, right? Have a great year! Kned Wiki (talk) 14:40, 1 January 2026 (UTC)
Absolutely yes @Kned Wiki, indeed I wish more editors took on the point about improving the article. There is a hurdle for getting published, which you know about, but even when accepted into mainspace there is always scope to improve sources and text. Going to the library is always worth doing, it's something I do too, and sometimes it's shocking to find all the print media and sources that have not made it on to the internet. The ideal if there is a librarian there who can point you to exactly the right material, particularly if they hear you are trying to widen access to knowledge. I will reserve your draft for review and look at it later today. ChrysGalley (talk) 15:02, 1 January 2026 (UTC)

This does not only (the translated title was inserted as both 'title' and 'trans-title'): remove trans-title: Diff/1336999214. What you were doing is removing WP:AISIGNS, and using a dishonest edit summary in an attempt to evade detection. --Gurkubondinn (talk) 14:16, 7 February 2026 (UTC)

Incontrivertible sign that ChatGPT was used: Diff/1336998811. This was then removed in the next edit with the somewhat misleading edit summary removed trans-title. It seems that you have been warned about AI use several times already, in § May 2025. --Gurkubondinn (talk) 14:19, 7 February 2026 (UTC)
I admit that I did use a LLM to help write it...but I can 100% vouch for the content. Everything in my version was perfectly cited, checked, and up-to-date. If you prefer a version that's mostly un-cited, lists flights that don't exist, has citations that go to 404s or page doesn't exist, that's up to you. But I think it reflects badly on Wikipedia as a trusted source of information. Kned Wiki (talk) 15:38, 7 February 2026 (UTC)
BTW, I'm well aware of Wikipedia:Writing articles with large language models that, in the lead paragraph, states: "LLM can be useful tools". So, clearly, there's nothing forbidding the use of them. Kned Wiki (talk) 15:43, 7 February 2026 (UTC)
