Hello, I'm Waxworker. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Brian Clough's Football Fortunes, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your recent edits to Dr. Jeremy Bangs when you modified the page, you introduced unknown parameters. Just because you specify |some_param=some_variable does not always mean that variable will display. The |some_param= must be defined in the template. You can look at the documentation for the template you are using but it is also helpful to use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and ensure that the values you have added are displaying correctly. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show you what the page will look like without actually saving it. It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. If you have any questions, contact the help desk for assistance.

Hi Matthew-Hopkins1981! I noticed that you recently made an edit at Dr. Jeremy Bangs and marked it as "minor", but it may not have been. On Wikipedia, "minor edit" refers only to superficial edits that could never be disputed, such as fixing typos or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not minor, even if it only concerns a single word. adding a date of birth is not minor Doug Weller talk 09:13, 1 November 2025 (UTC)

Managing a conflict of interest
Hello, Matthew-Hopkins1981. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Advance UK, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the Edit Request Wizard), including links or details of reliable sources that support your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

ArbCom 2025 Elections voter message
Hello! Voting in the 2025 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 1 December 2025. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Communication is required here
Hi, Matthew-Hopkins1981. You have received quite a few posts on this page, but have not responded to any since 2022. Please note that communication is required on Wikipedia; in fact, that's what this page is for. Especially with the kind of tendentious editing you do, you need to be more responsive. (I noticed for example this aggressive edit summary where you attack some other users as "a cult of three editors".) You seem also quite reluctant to answer questions on Talk:Advance UK, though you have posted on it. (I must say, though, that a haphazardly indented post like this, which seems to expect reliable sources to "describe" Wikipedia policies [? really?] is pretty useless, especially when you then fail to answer this query.) Please at least respond below to this question, that you have already been asked previously: Have you any relationship with Advance UK? Bishonen | tålk 16:03, 20 November 2025 (UTC).
- Hi Bishonen,
- I have no connections to Advance UK, I am personally a member of the Liberal Democrats.
- The issue I have took with the page is that sources appear to mention the party as "far-right" in relation to Tommy Robinson, which seems to undermine the credibility of sources. The 'far-right' label is itself is not an issue, but the term has becone fairly broad to include anti-Islam movements (like Advance UK seems to be) to fascist and neo-nazi groups. I no longer dispute the consensus as we have to go on the weight of the source material.
- I often edit the page as I want it to be up to date. I remain neutral however I think its important to be accurate on these topics.
- I have recently suffered from schizophrenia so have been acting eratically at times.

Hi Matthew-Hopkins1981. Thank you for your work on Great British PAC. Another editor, Lp0 on fire, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:
Thanks for writing this. I'm not getting into the "right wing"/"far-right" debate but it seems like that should at least be assessed in this case based on following the sources. I'm also not certain about the "list of supporters" section being due weight.
To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Lp0 on fire}}. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)
lp0 on fire () 12:32, 14 February 2026 (UTC)
- @Lp0 on fire:
- Thank you for taking the time to write this. I think the issue with right-wing to far right is it means nothing, viz. right wing is a broad term that encompasses various ideas including those on the far right. If you'd like to change the ideology to 'far right' I'm happy to establish a consensus with you on that, however I'm not sure how many of the sources describe it that way.
- I would keep the list of supporters as it makes the article more informative as to those (peers, MPs and former MEPs) who are involved. It is held up by two of the sources, albeit one is a primary source. Matthew-Hopkins1981 (talk) 22:12, 14 February 2026 (UTC)
- That seems reasonable regarding the list. As for right-wing vs far-right, I don't have any opinion on what this is, but we should follow the sources; the fact that right-wing politics and far-right politics are separate articles indicates that it isn't "meaningless". lp0 on fire () 23:28, 14 February 2026 (UTC)
- @Lp0 on fire:
- I will take a second look through the sources. I think the weight of source material needs to be taken into account. The two HNH articles refer broadly to the group as 'far right', though in relation to individuals within it. Two citations call it 'hard right'. This seems to be enough to label it exclusively as far right.
- 'Right wing to far right' is like saying blue to turquoise. Matthew-Hopkins1981 (talk) 23:37, 14 February 2026 (UTC)
- Okay, thanks for analyzing the sources. Feel free to make the change, or I can if you like. lp0 on fire () 23:43, 14 February 2026 (UTC)
