Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited The Dukeries, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bassetlaw. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ  Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 19:54, 19 April 2025 (UTC)

Carr Bank Park moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to Carr Bank Park. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Peter James (talk) 22:12, 13 May 2025 (UTC)

Thank you Peter James. Please can you have a look at the Carr Bank Page and let me know your thoughts?
thank you MatthewDavid41 (talk) 03:16, 14 May 2025 (UTC)

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Clowne, Derbyshire, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Chesterfield.

Ollerton and Boughton

Note that parishes with dual names aren't disambiguated like Ollerton and Boughton (Civil Parish) unless there was a different article like a constituency and we would use the lower case Ollerton and Boughton (civil parish) or just Ollerton and Boughton (parish) thanks. Crouch, Swale (talk) 09:40, 16 February 2026 (UTC)

Oh thanks for letting me know. That’s helpful. I’ll change it MatthewDavid41 (talk) 22:22, 16 February 2026 (UTC)
The only problem being with this is that there are separate wiki pages for New Ollerton, Ollerton and Boughton. This is the civil parish wiki page for the area and not the towns/villages in themselves. MatthewDavid41 (talk) 22:25, 16 February 2026 (UTC)
We don't normally disambiguate unless needed, see WP:PRECISION and others in Category:Civil parishes in Nottinghamshire, the article would be expected to be about the parish similar to Nuneaton and Bedworth being about the district, Tyne and Wear being about the county and Trinidad and Tobago being about the country. Crouch, Swale (talk) 18:03, 17 February 2026 (UTC)
Thank you that’s helpful. MatthewDavid41 (talk) 05:56, 19 February 2026 (UTC)

Badly formatted references from 2025

Could you please attend to the following:

1. two refs, added 4 June 2025
2. one ref, added 4 June 2025

Thank you.-- ~2026-94459-1 (talk) 19:47, 23 February 2026 (UTC)

I’ve corrected these references.
One thing though Sherwood Forest stretches more than just the site we see today at Edwinstowe. So Sherwood Pines, centre parcs is Sherwood Forest, the signs befor you are entering Sherwood Forest start officially at the A617 coming to the hill from Newark, and stretches close to Market Warsop for instance and further afield near to Ravenshead. Albeit it’s not as big as it used to be. https://sherwoodforestvisitor.com/
thanks MatthewDavid41 (talk) 01:41, 24 February 2026 (UTC)
I did consider Sherwood Pines being nearby, although I've not been there, I thought it was a relatively modern Forestry Commission plantation much like Blidworth Bottoms so should not be confused as part of historic Sherwood Forest.
The website mentioned above I would disregard as a local promotional portal with no obvious alignment to any major body, or contact details, and is created in WordPress.com - essentially a simpler facility for hobbyist bloggers than would be used by serious, third-party web providers. A type of clickbait; Blidworth Bottoms connects to an organisation named Forestry England.
Essentially, these blog sites are not WP:RS and can be intended for generating payments; WP advocates avoidance, see WP:UGC. The following extract from sherwoodforestvisitor.com is grammatically incorrect (the last few words), always a red flag:

The modern forest still has many examples of these mixed in with the woodland but with more trees in the today.

Thanks.--~2026-94459-1 (talk) 04:18, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
