Airport destination lists sourcing RfC

Hi there,

I'm leaving this message because you contributed to the recent RfC regarding the inclusion of airport destination lists. As promised, now that that RfC has closed, I've initiated a further discussion about the sourcing standards to be applied to these lists.

If you wish to contribute to the discussion, please do so at Wikipedia:Village pump (policy)#Airport destination lists - sourcing requirements.

Cheers! Danners430 tweaks made 15:31, 19 January 2026 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of PS Alexandra (disambiguation)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on PS Alexandra (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is:

  • a disambiguation page with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" which lists only one extant Wikipedia page (i.e., there is a primary topic);
  • a disambiguation page that lists zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
  • a redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" whose target is neither a disambiguation page nor page that has a disambiguation-like function.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. Greedycell (talk) 07:38, 25 January 2026 (UTC)

SS Clan Fraser moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, SS Clan Fraser, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. AfC notification: Draft:SS Clan Fraser has a new comment

I've left a comment on your Articles for Creation submission, which can be viewed at Draft:SS Clan Fraser. Thanks! Dan arndt (talk) 02:25, 2 February 2026 (UTC)

Page moves

You moved HMS TB 81 (1885) to HMS TB 81 here, stating the reason as "move to base name per WP:NCSHIP, only ship with this name". However, as you can see from List_of_torpedo_boat_classes_of_the_Royal_Navy#Yarrow_&_Company_TB.74_Class, there was another TB.81, a smaller 2nd class torpedo boat - in fact the two vessels appear to have co-existed with the same name. Similar issues apply to other RN torpedo boats you have moved - all of the Cricket-class destroyers you moved (TBs 4, 5, 9, 11, 12, 13 and 23) all reused their number (although the earlier vessels in these cases had already been scrapped). Because of this, the articles should probably be moved back and a suitable set index page created, as even if there isn't enough for an article on the older vessel(s), it is a viable target for users to search for.Nigel Ish (talk) 21:55, 9 February 2026 (UTC)

@Nigel Ish: Thanks for letting me know, I'll take a closer look at these and revert moves/create ship index articles accordingly. I try to determine whether all mentions on enwiki refer to the ship with the extant article before moving it to the base name, but I'm sure I miss some. Mdewman6 (talk) 00:10, 10 February 2026 (UTC)
@Nigel Ish: I took a look at these, but I could use your (or someones) help in identifying references to cite for the redlinked ships. I am fine with moving the existing articles back to their disambiguated versions and creating ship index pages at the base name, but at least one current new page reviewer is a stickler for having citations for red links- linking to existing mention in another article isn't sufficient. Looking at List_of_torpedo_boat_classes_of_the_Royal_Navy, it's unclear to me what references go with specific boats, and I don't have access to any of the books listed. Let me know if you can help and if you need me to make any page moves, though I think you should be able to revert my moves. Mdewman6 (talk) 23:59, 11 February 2026 (UTC)
David Lyon & Rif Winfield's The Sail & Steam Navy List (Lyon, David; Winfield, Rif (2004). The Sail & Steam Navy List: All the Ships of the Royal Navy 1815–1889. Chatham Publishing. ISBN 1-86176-032-9. {{cite book}}: Text "location-London" ignored (help)) probably gives enough detail to properly cite ship index pages for the torpedo boats in question (i.e. year or date of launching/completion and disposal. I'll see if can move the pages back and drop in appropriate SIAs.Nigel Ish (talk) 16:14, 13 February 2026 (UTC)

Also, when you move ship articles, please be sure to amend all links from navboxes such as shipwreck navboxes. The ships name should show in bold and unlinked. If it is in blue and linked, that shows it is a redirect and needs to be changed. Mjroots (talk) 08:51, 16 February 2026 (UTC)

Split proposal again

As described at Talk:Organoantimony chemistry, I propose to split out the large homework section on Lewis acids. This topic has been discussed previously, leading to a merge, which I am respectfully suggesting should be largely undone.--Smokefoot (talk) 15:32, 28 February 2026 (UTC)

Thanks for reporting Conrado Yap-class patrol craft (e|t|h|li|w|lo) for revision-deletion. When tagging an article to report a CV, please remember to specify the last offending oldid using |end=. Many thanks, Arcticocean  13:47, 14 March 2026 (UTC)
