About your recent created page
Hi! I noticed your recent contributions to List of birds of Lakshadweep—thanks for your work on that! Just out of curiosity, are you using any AI tools to help with the editing? No problem if you are—just checking so we can make sure everything lines up with Wikipedia's guidelines on automated content. Let me know, and feel free to ask if you need help with anything! ShaikhHahassanMahmud (talk) 12:33, 6 May 2025 (UTC)
- Hello,
- No, I haven't used any AI tools to help edit the page. I am getting this list from eBird, Avibase and iNaturalist. Mitsingh (talk) 03:55, 7 May 2025 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of List of birds of Lakshadweep

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on List of birds of Lakshadweep requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://safaripartner.com/blog/birds-uganda. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. — Moriwen (talk) 18:47, 21 May 2025 (UTC)
Creating taxonomy templates
Hi, the Article wizard is no use for creating taxonomy templates, which aren't articles, but executable (strictly transcludable) code written in the internal template language. See WP:Automated taxobox system/taxonomy templates an explanation of taxonomy templates.
If you're sure of the classification involved (in particular the parent of the taxon for which you are creating a taxonomy template), then just create it. If you're not sure, ask at the talk page of the relevant wikiproject. I'm always happy to try to help with problems in the WP:Automated taxobox system. List of Lepidoptera of Telangana moved to draftspace
Thanks for your contributions to List of Lepidoptera of Telangana. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because The vast majority of entries are unsourced. Geographic distribution sourcing is required for each one. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Elmidae (talk · contribs) 06:27, 13 September 2025 (UTC)
- Hi,
- Most of the list is derived from the iNaturalist projects, where me and hundreds of other people contribute their observations. Some noteworthy records have the observation link attached, but I do not feel it necessary to add the same source for each Lepidoptera.
- Moths of Telangana project and Butterflies of Telangana Project are linked.
- For butterflies, along with the project, I also used Sailu et.al, 2021 where 165 species are listed. Mitsingh (talk) 08:50, 13 September 2025 (UTC)
Wikipedia and copyright
Hello Mitsingh! Your additions to Carrhotus andhra have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible copyright license—to request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, it's important to understand and adhere to guidelines about using information from sources to prevent copyright and plagiarism issues. Here are the key points:
- Limited quotation: You may only copy or translate a small portion of a source. Any direct quotations must be enclosed in double quotation marks (") and properly cited using an inline citation. More information is available on the non-free content page. To learn how to cite a source, see Help:Referencing for beginners.
- Paraphrasing: Beyond limited quotations, you are required to put all information in your own words. Following the source's wording too closely can lead to copyright issues and is not permitted; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when paraphrasing, you must still cite your sources as appropriate.
- Image use guidelines: In most scenarios, only freely licensed or public domain images may be used and these should be uploaded to our sister project, Wikimedia Commons. In some scenarios, non-freely copyrighted content can be used if they meet all ten of our non-free content criteria; Wikipedia:Plain and simple non-free content guide may help with determining a file's eligibility.
- Copyrighted material donation: If you hold the copyright to the content you want to copy, or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license the text for publication here. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Copying and translation within Wikipedia: Wikipedia articles can be copied or translated, however they must have proper attribution in accordance with Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. For translation, see Help:Translation § Licensing.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices. Persistent failure to comply may result in being blocked from editing. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. The4lines |||| (talk) 16:14, 12 October 2025 (UTC)

white tern
I presume you moved this because all of the species in the genus Gygis have this as a common name, not just the Atlantic white tern. Please adjust the incoming links so that they go to the article page. I have adjust the redirect to point to the genus. - UtherSRG (talk) 16:52, 2 November 2025 (UTC)

Hi
what happened on iNat? did you email them on suspension?
einsum Einsum (talk) 20:50, 27 November 2025 (UTC)
- Hi,
- I got suspended on inat for "continuing to agree to many IDs, seemingly without being able to independently verify them, which reduces iNaturalist data quality"
- I emailed them on this but i have received no follow up for the past 7 days Mitsingh (talk) 11:46, 28 November 2025 (UTC)
- I see, maybe you can email that you wont do that in future (if they banned they may have found some observations as these) and correct your older IDs and wanting to contribute by both observing and IDing taxa you are good at. Einsum (talk) 19:54, 28 November 2025 (UTC)
Authority bracketing
Please follow the reliable sources you have when you add the authority in the taxobox, it should have brackets if the genus placement has changed since description. Also you need to add redirects from old names, old combinations, trivial names bolded in the lead etc. Shyamal (talk) 13:23, 18 December 2025 (UTC)
- Following the usual WP:AGF norms I am assuming that you are into taxonomy or have a knowledge of taxonomic practice - but you still do not seem to be following the rules at Spitosa fylla ... the replacement name is created recently and I am unable to see the full-text of the paper that suggests it - are they separating out an Abisara sensu stricto based on a phylogeny? I hope you do not continue to miss the bracketing and other ICZN code rules. Even better would be if you can actually give the taxonomic history when you do some changes likes this because that is often what most people are looking for - and I assume that you have access to Zootaxa unlike most of us. Shyamal (talk) 12:51, 22 December 2025 (UTC)
- Hi
- I was making the genus replacements based on Wikispecies. In Wikispecies you can see that they have mentioned a source for the genus replacement, which is what I used. Mitsingh (talk) 13:22, 23 December 2025 (UTC)
- Wikispecies would not normally be considered reliable (see Wikipedia:Don't_cite_Wikipedia_on_Wikipedia) here BUT even if you followed it, you are not following the author bracketing rules - see https://species.wikimedia.org/wiki/Spitosa_fylla Shyamal (talk) 14:10, 23 December 2025 (UTC)
- Hi,
- I changed Abisara burnii to Sibosia burnii because of Wikispecies and the Synoptic Catalogue of the Butterflies of India.
- The source mentioned for the change from Abisara to Sibosia is this. Mitsingh (talk) 13:28, 23 December 2025 (UTC)
- I have examined the paper and have added citations where needed. Sibosia burnii needs to be merged into Sibosia as it is now monotypic but I am going to leave this for now. Shyamal (talk) 03:49, 24 December 2025 (UTC)

Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to Abisara burnii, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. – Jonesey95 (talk) 18:04, 22 December 2025 (UTC)
Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that one or more recent edits you made did not have an edit summary. Collaboration among editors is fundamental to Wikipedia, and every edit should be explained by a clear edit summary, or by discussion on the talk page. Please use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit and/or to describe what it changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.
The edit summary field looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
or in the visual editor:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. When logged in to your Wikipedia account, you can give yourself a reminder by setting Preferences → Editing →
Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary (or the default undo summary), and then click the "Save" button.
Thanks! – Jonesey95 (talk) 18:06, 22 December 2025 (UTC)

Thank you for your contributions. It seems that you have added Creative Commons licensed text to one or more Wikipedia articles, such as Draft:Euaspa motokii. You are welcome to import appropriate Creative Commons licensed content to articles, but in order to meet the Wikipedia guideline on plagiarism, such content must be fully attributed. This requires not only acknowledging the source, but acknowledging that the source is copied. There are several methods to do this described at Wikipedia:Plagiarism § Compatibly licensed sources, including the usage of an attribution template. Please make sure that any Creative Commons content you have already imported is fully attributed. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 04:07, 27 January 2026 (UTC)
I have sent you a note about a page you started
Hi Mitsingh. Thank you for your work on List of mammals of Chhattisgarh. Another editor, Klbrain, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:
Thanks for creating this list; two sources, and consistent with the series on Category:Fauna of India by state or union territory.
To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Klbrain}}. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)
March 2026
Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to change the title of a page by cutting its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Telinga davisoni. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Disambiguation link notification for March 17
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Black-headed sibia, a link pointing to the disambiguation page Dalat was added. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 21:08, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
