Thanks for the tip!
I got your welcome message, checked out your page, opened up the citation hunt tool, and the very first source was something I could help with! I just started on Wikipedia, inspired to contribute by noticing a lot of lack in WikiSpeedRuns. I appreciate the tip about citation hunt and would love to know of any other tools you've found! - Hi! I'm so glad that you found something to do on Wikipedia! Something else I really enjoy is monitoring the recent changes log to help revert vandalism, and, as soon as you become 'autoconfirmed', you can learn how to do so here. Other thing I like to do is to take a look at this list of uncategorized pages and find categories for them, and a final thing I like is to fix grammar on articles in this list and add Wikilinks to articles in this list. You can find more odd little things like these at the Task Centre.
- Thanks for helping Wikipedia, and if you ever need anything else, please don't hesitate to ask me here! MolecularPilot 22:01, 3 March 2024 (UTC)
Salmon as food
@MolecularPilot:Hello. I saw you thanked me for my recent edit on Salmon as food. Would like to know any specific reason for this. I am a beginner and would like to know everything that pleases other Wikipedians, so I can understand what is good to do at Wikipedia. One curious question though. As I was finalizing my edit, the page was saying that the infobox had a error regarding Cholesterol. I went to the template source [Template:Infobox nutritional value]. I realized, that cholesterol begins with a small "c" rather than the big "C". I changed that, and apparently the error got fixed. Does it happen with infoboxes - i.e. even capitalization matters? Kindly advise. Thanks. Neotaruntius (talk) 00:34, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hi! I thanked you for adding an interesting new section to the article and referencing it really well, it's always great to see editors add new perspectives to the article and back them app with sources.
- It can depend on the individual infobox, but generally parameters are case sensitive (and almost always lowercase). Thanks for spotting that mistake with the box & fixing it.
- If you have any other questions please feel free to reach out to me!
- Have a great day! :) MolecularPilot 00:49, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks @MolecularPilot for the kind comments. I sure will ask a question as and when it arises. It is so nice to see helpful Wikipedians like you around, who encourage beginners so nicely. Thanks very much for appreciation. I feel encouraged. Neotaruntius (talk) 11:34, 23 October 2024 (UTC)

Removing Issues
Hi @MolecularPilot and thanks for your comment on my new page: Krone Engineered Biosystems Building. I left a comment on its Talk page about removing the issues message, could you have a look? I'd like to work on this page more but want some help knowing if I've addressed the issues enough that it's going to stick around... Thanks boingit. Boingit (talk) 07:33, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Boingit! I didn't add the tags, that was someone else, but I've gone ahead and removed all the tags up the top because you added references demonstrating independent, secondary sources talking about the building in detail, which is perfect (and the reason I marked it as patrolled when I saw the article!), and also made it not an orphan anymore. The final thing is categories - even I struggle with this one! A good thing to do is start by looking on the page of a broad category, like Category:Buildings and structures and then look at a subcategory that's relevant to the building, and then the relevant subcategories of that subcategory etc. until you find a couple perfect and specific categories. I hope this helps, and thanks for making your really cool article! :) MolecularPilot 🧪️✈️ 07:44, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
- Great stuff and thanks for the help! I'll look after the categories stuff. Boingit (talk) 07:49, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
- I just found a couple relevant ones so I added them to the article and have removed the {{uncat}} template. I'm happy to help anytime, please don't hesitate to reach out to me in future if you need help with ANYTHING. :) MolecularPilot 🧪️✈️ 07:50, 14 January 2025 (UTC)

| Thanks for adding back my edits so that it didn't look like an edit war and for helping me on the Discord! I don't know if this is the right barnstar but it seems the most suitable. AngelenoCrow (talk) 05:50, 16 January 2025 (UTC) |
- That's so fine - thank you so much for the barnstar! Some of the RC patrollers can be a bit aggressive and I'm sorry all of your 11 edits got rolled back because 1 of them didn't explain the sourcing. I reviewed the sourcing and added the content back with an explanation that the existing reference demonstrates the content you added. Thank you for your work on these often underappriecated regions, and I'm happy to help whenever you're a bit confused about what's happened here or anything really! :) MolecularPilot 🧪️✈️ 06:56, 16 January 2025 (UTC)

AfD Help
Hi there, I saw you listed as someone who can help new AfD users. I've started to get engaged with AfD discussions and learning a ton, but struggling with this conversation. Is there anything you'd suggest I should say or do differently? I'd appreciate any constructive criticism. Thanks! WidgetKid chat me 07:41, 21 January 2026 (UTC)
- Hi! I'm so sorry, for some reason I didn't get notified about this so I didn't realise you sent a message. I think you engaged really well in that conversation! :) MolecularPilotTalk 02:09, 18 February 2026 (UTC)
MolecularBot not recognizing new SPI case status
Hi, please see this bot edit. According to documentation, new is a newly added case status (pun intended). Ian P. Tetriss (talk) 00:47, 18 February 2026 (UTC)

Temporary account IP viewer granted

Hello, MolecularPilot. Per your request, your account has been granted temporary-account-viewer rights. You are now able to reveal the IP addresses of individuals using temporary accounts that are not visible to the general public. This is very sensitive information that is only to be used to aid in anti-abuse workflows. Please take a moment to review Wikipedia:Temporary account IP viewer for more information on this user right. It is important to remember:
- You must not share IP address data with someone who does not have the same access permissions unless disclosure is permissible as per guidelines listed at Foundation:Policy:Wikimedia Access to Temporary Account IP Addresses Policy.
- Access must not be used for political control, to apply pressure on editors, or as a threat against another editor in a content dispute. There must be a valid reason to investigate a temporary user. Note that using multiple temporary accounts is not forbidden, so long as they are not used in violation of policies (for example, block or ban evasion).
It is also important to note that the following actions are logged for others to see:
- When a user accepts the preference that enables or disables IP reveal for their account.
- Revealing an IP address of a temporary account.
- Listing the temporary accounts that are associated with one or more IP addresses (using the CIDR notation format).
Remember, even if a user is violating policy, avoid revealing personal information if possible. Use temporary account usernames rather than disclosing IP addresses directly, or give information such as same network/not same network or similar. If you do not want the user right anymore then please ask me or another administrator and it will be removed for you. You may also voluntarily give up access at any time by visiting Special:Preferences. Happy editing! Sohom (talk) 11:21, 16 March 2026 (UTC)

Declining an unblock request
Hi MolecularPilot, I noticed that you recently declined an unblock request at User talk:DorsetTiger § Standard offer request in Special:Diff/1344044324. While that unblock request should be declined, please note that "Any user may comment on an unblock request; however, only administrators may resolve the request (by either declining or unblocking)", per Wikipedia:Blocking policy § Unblock requests. I have endorsed your decline to make it valid, but please do not resolve any unblock requests until you are an administrator, in light of the community consensus on this matter.
If an unblock request needs immediate attention, you are welcome to post a message on the administrators' noticeboard or notify an administrator who is familiar with the situation. On the other hand, if you would like to become an administrator, please see Wikipedia:Advice for RfA candidates and Wikipedia:Advice for admin elections candidates for general advice. Thank you. — Newslinger talk 15:31, 19 March 2026 (UTC)
- Oh sorry, Yamla (who is an admin) commented at the AN thread (where I was a !voter) asking for it to be procedurally declined but they were INVOVLED so couldn't, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:GoToComment/c-Yamla-20260317233000-PhilKnight-20260317232500, so I thought it was okay, but I guess not. Thank you for sorting it out and letting me know. I won't do this again in future. :) MolecularPilot Talk 21:29, 19 March 2026 (UTC)
- No problem, it was clear that you intended to resolve the situation in good faith. Unblock requests are an area in which some editors try to argue that a block should be invalidated or reduced on the basis of procedural irregularities, so it is important for us to follow the relevant policies just as we expect the blocked editor to do. When an editor makes an unblock request, you are still welcome to provide helpful advice to the editor, which can steer them in the right direction if they are misunderstanding a policy or procedure. — Newslinger talk 23:34, 19 March 2026 (UTC)
- That makes a lot of sense! Thank you for resolving / endorsing it, and explaining all this. Have a great day! :) MolecularPilot Talk 22:06, 20 March 2026 (UTC)

"Threat"
Hi MolecularPilot. sending that admin a sarcastic threat
You piled on more bad faith after I reported bad faith to AN/I. Weird. To read my message that way says more about you than about me.
I can't imagine what other action would be deemed appropriate?
Why don't you tell me why not one person even asked them to retract their aspersions? People can retract statements without being forced to apologise, you know. Why should I have to accept being maligned by another editor on their Talk page without being able to defend myself? Robby.is.on (talk) 02:59, 24 March 2026 (UTC)
- Hello!I do not think I was acting in bad faith, and a neutral reading of sending a "I hope this doesn't happen to you" message to at admin you are upset about because they closed your ANI without the action you wanted (as seen by your edit summaries and messages at ANI and on their Talk) would be as a sarcastic wish/threat. However, if this genuinely wasn't what you meant, I'm sorry for interpreting it in that way. I accept whatever it might say (I.e. too cynical etc.) about me.I think making Conservative Journalist performantively strike it out wouldn't be much help (educating them about policy so they don't do it again as was done will actually help), and everyone else at the ANI including multiple admins did agree. It's obviously not nice for them to say that to you, and I'm sorry they did, but I think the resolution was appropriate and proportionate to the (relatively low) severity of the PAs, though this doesn't take away from that they were still definetly PAs and you didn't deserve them! Thanks!
