Minor edits and edit summaries
FYI, two good practices that your edit to Lunar New Year suggests you didn't know?
Hi ND381! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Thank you.
Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that one or more recent edit(s) you made did not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.
The edit summary field looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing →
Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary, and then click the "Save" button.

Disambiguation link notification for September 2
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Wu Chinese, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Morphology and Dorsal. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 19:56, 2 September 2024 (UTC)

Undefined sfn references in Guangdong
Hi, you have added {{sfnp|Li|2012|page=160}} and {{sfnp|Li|2012|page=161}} as refernces to Guangdong. Unfortunately you have not provided the source "Li 2012". This means that readers cannot look up the references, and the article is added to Category:Harv and Sfn no-target errors. If you could supply the missing source it would be appreciated. - Thank you for your prompt fix. DuncanHill (talk) 18:26, 19 January 2025 (UTC)

Historical fully muddy initials
Would it be possible to add a link, or short explanation, or perhaps a hint this is not a joke (term added here in 2022)? It felt as someone's vandalism, I even decided to find the joker and revert it. Pavel Vozenilek (talk) 12:33, 27 November 2025 (UTC)
- QYS uses 清 "clear" and 濁 "muddy" to mark voicing and manner of articulation. This can be further divided into:
- 全清 "fully clear" for plain plosives
- 次清 "partly clear" for aspirated plosives
- 次濁 "partly muddy" for nasals
- 全濁 "fully muddy" for voiced plosives
- Fricatives are simply distinguished between clear (voiceless) and muddy (voiced) classes (cf. zh:中古音 if you need to access a table)
- Nothing about this is a joke. These are standard terms used in most if not all texts to do with historical Chinese linguistics. If anything what that actually is the joke is failing to mention any of these terms in the QYS page; basic terms like these should appear in the main QYS page instead of every single page remotely related to the Qieyun school of phonology ND381 (talk) 13:52, 27 November 2025 (UTC)
