ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:54, 19 November 2024 (UTC)

Confederation Liberty and Independence

Hi, this article is blocked so I can't correct the number of Polish MEPs from 51 to 53 myself. Could you do it for me? Thanks in advance. IgnacyPL (talk) 15:04, 11 March 2025 (UTC)

Done, you're very much welcome. Octilllion (talk) 16:03, 11 March 2025 (UTC)

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for making personal attacks towards other editors.
If you believe that there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  The Blade of the Northern Lights (話して下さい) 15:41, 12 June 2025 (UTC)

Request reason:

No substantive reason for a ban and the conflict on that talk page. I was banned for sourcing and giving correct information including a supreme court ruling and was ganged up on by other editors who had been biasing the article for quite some time. And I’m the one who gets indefinitely blocked? Not a bit of an over-reaction as well for a user with no ban history and not many warns? The staff member who banned me also gave my defense as a reason for a ban which I think was strong worded yes but factual.Octilllion (talk) 15:56, 12 June 2025 (UTC)

Decline reason:

You are blocked, not banned, the terms are not synonyms. Your comments were wholly inappropriate for any public forum; good block. 331dot (talk) 18:46, 12 June 2025 (UTC)

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Explain this. The Blade of the Northern Lights (話して下さい) 16:06, 12 June 2025 (UTC)

Strong words but at least also check the substantive part which is manipulating the page’s content. I have the right to be tired of this after I have been for the longest time countered and reversed even when sourcing my info by these trolls. I simply want a factual image of that page. Is page manipulation a smaller offense we’ll just skip over? Octilllion (talk) 16:09, 12 June 2025 (UTC)
I mean there’s not even a reference of the supreme court’s ruling there which is quite important wouldn’t you say? Only outdated results that will change if even by a vote after the recount Octilllion (talk) 16:10, 12 June 2025 (UTC)
Well, first thing's first: whatever "rights" you fancy you have are immaterial. We're concerned here on Wikipedia about your conduct. Insulting other users is against Wikipedia conduct policies. Failure to discuss matters calmly and civilly is against Wikipedia conduct policies. Whether or not you believe you're right (and I'm sympathetic to your politics here), Wikipedia is also governed through WP:CONSENSUS, and a fundamental part of a consensus-based environment is that sometimes you're on the losing side of it. Finally, other editors are neither "trolls" nor vandals by definition, simply because you don't like their politics.

You weren't blocked because of your politics (and no one here will relitigate the talk page issues with you). You were blocked for your heavily caustic insults. Understanding why you were blocked, and convincing an admin that you won't do it again, are prerequisites for you being unblocked. Ravenswing 19:38, 12 June 2025 (UTC)

I won’t do so again and I’d like to be unlocked in order to do a courtesy vanish and leave wikipedia pretty please Octilllion (talk) 22:13, 26 July 2025 (UTC)

The World Destubathon

Hello. You're invited to participate in The World Destubathon. We're aiming to destub a lot of articles and also improve longer stale articles. It started today on Monday June 16 and will run until Sunday July 13. There is over $3300 going into it, with $500 the top prize. If you are interested in winning something to save you money in buying books for future content, or just see it as a good editathon opportunity to see a lot of articles improved for subjects which interest you, sign up on the page in the participants section if interested. Even if you can only manage a few articles they would be very much appreciated and help make the content produced as diverse and broad as possible!♦ Dr. Blofeld 18:09, 16 June 2025 (UTC)

Request reason:

I have understood and learned from my mistakes and would like to be unlocked in order to attempt a courtesy vanish and leave wikipedia Octilllion (talk) 22:17, 26 July 2025 (UTC)

Decline reason:

Not grounds for an unblock, and not a convincing case for an unblock otherwise. Star Mississippi 02:31, 29 July 2025 (UTC)

You won't be unblocked to vanish; only accounts in good standing can be vanished; you may stop using and abandon your account. 331dot (talk) 08:05, 27 July 2025 (UTC)

Can I at the very least be unblocked to change my username? It’s for privacy and personal reasons.Octilllion (talk) 10:06, 27 August 2025 (UTC)
Besides quite some time has passed and “understanding why you were blocked, and convincing an admin that you won't do it again, are prerequisites for you being unblocked.” Was what an admin told me last time, so pretty please do give me that unblock maybe I can also improve my standing after that username change to reach my goal of a vanish Octilllion (talk) 10:10, 27 August 2025 (UTC)
