Links and namespaces

Hi Dick, as a new editor for WikiPedia I assumed it would be a good way to start a new chapter/article. Since you seem to be an experienced editor here, which procedure would you recommend ?

You can start in your own space, but don't link to it there; move it to a real article in the main namespace first, then you can link it. You'll get help, too, if it's in the main namespace. Use a stub tag to identify an article that's just started and needs to be fleshed out; see WP:stub. Dicklyon 19:24, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

Agreement to publish the translation as previously referenced in my contribution obtained from author and his employer on 2007-06-26, but I have decided not to publish this under the GFDL, since no modification of this publication would be reasonable or could be accepted.

I did ask for permission before starting the translation, I just did not have the consent in writing. The subject matter is so delicate that a summary in my own words will be difficult and might negatively affect the conclusion of the original article. I might eventually give it a try ...

Panjasan: The ICDM is providing valuable work in order to support any user of electronic visual display devices (e.g. the computer monitor you are using to read this) and thus its activities may be of interest to all of us who use electronic display devices. Have a look at specsmanship. This organization is also non-commercial and open to anybody ready to provide contributions.

Frankly speaking, I do not understand why commercial entities (companies, firms, etc.) in fact use wikipedia as a kind of advertising platform while efforts are spent on deleting such a valuable open community effort.

Hi alfabetagamma, no I am not an AI ... and I have in no way been using such a tool. So far I have rather been the "I" of "AI" myself. A look at the list of my previous contributions to Wikipedia could have revealed that I have contributed several original technical content starting in 2008 with an article about the first Blue phase mode LCD.

The submitted draft section on "Matched Moving Average" is a summary of my paper published in 2025 (peer reviewed conference paper). It is a valuable addition to the other "weighted moving averages" listed in the article [| Moving Average] with special, hitherto unknown features. That is why it should be inserted at just this specific location.

If you feel unable to judge the technical content of my submission and to determine the appropriate context you may ask experts in the field.

Rejection on the probabilistic basis "it is highly unusual ... " seems to be resting on unstable grounds and none of the issues attributed to an AI can be identified in my submission. Please let me know especially the "hallucinative" aspects of the submitted draft. It would be highly appreciated if the vague speculations on which the rejection is currently based could be replaced by verifiable facts.

Sorry. I know that ChatGPT sometimes uses "===================" to make lists and stuff, so I thought that was the case. I also thought the "this section is supposed to be inserted in | the article on "moving average" after the sub-section "Weighted moving average"." was the AI conversing with the user per WP:LLMSIGNS.

Still though, if you don't intend the draft to be a standalone article, you would just want to insert the contents and not seek AfC review. AfC is often heavily backlogged and sending major additions for AfC to review pretty much causes more backlogs for reviewers.

And yes, I cannot really judge math articles due to age, but I do only see a single source being cited in the entire draft, so I'd still have doubts about WP:V. AlphaBetaGamma (Talk/report any mistakes here) 00:06, 21 August 2025 (UTC)
