Removal of Ayatollah Khamenei section in Martyr article

Hello, I added Imam Khamenei’s death as martyrdom because in islamic view his death was seen as martyrdom, His death was influential and kickstarted the 2026 Israel-Iran Regional War. As stated by Sayyid Muhammed Rivzi who has studied in the hawza of Qum, Iran he has said “e) Martyrdom (sahadat): Martyrdom means that a person, fully aware of the certain or the probable danger, approaches it just for a sacred cause which is expressed in the Qur’an as “in the way of Allah”. Martyrdom has two basic elements: Firstly, it must be “in the way of Allah,” the cause must be sacred and the person must be wishing to sacrifice his life for it. Secondly, it must take place knowingly and with awareness.” This definition also is agreed upon majority of Marja. (Source - https://al-islam.org/imam-husayn-saviour-islam/martyr-analysis-concept-martyrdom-islam“ And In Iran since the start of the war his death has been known throughout the country and the Shi’ite community as martyrdom even If you would disagree it is factual. (As seen of the mourning rallies across cities like The Naqsh-e-Jahan. mass mourning in Isfahan) The country has declared 40 day National period of mourning also called Arbaeen (In relation to Imam Hussain’s 40 Day Mourning) ~2026-18085-52 (talk) 02:29, 23 March 2026 (UTC)

Maybe in Islam, but that is hardly a worldview. Open up a discussion on the talk page for the article in question. Perhaps we need an article on Islamic martyrdom because other cultures would consider it sacrilegious to consider someone who harms or kills another to be a martyr. If we were to call someone who kills or intends to kill another another a martyr, why do we not call all soldiers killed in the line of duty martyrs? Peaceray (talk) 03:51, 23 March 2026 (UTC)

Cascade Range page edits

Hi, so my edit of the Cascade Range was rejected due to Peakbagger being deemed not a reliable source because it is user generated content; however while the website Peakbagger in general is created largely by user input, in actuality all of the information is officially verified by the Peakbagger staff, and much of the elevation/prominence data was created not by user input but by a robust program calculation of some kind created by a geologist. I believe the website cannot truly be classified as simply user generated content, at least because the content I used from the website was official statistics and not user generated content. Plus when looking for other sources that verify the same information, I found also the Wikipedia page that also contains the same list, and hoping to find a good USGS link or something, I looked in the citations list and it was all pages from Peakbagger as well. So if possible I hope you can reconsider this as Peakbagger is not truly a user generated source in the way that has been implied, and there is a standard here already set for Peakbagger being used as a source on already existing Wikipedia pages. Thank you! Wugthebug (talk) 00:33, 24 March 2026 (UTC)

@Wugthebug: As the WP:BOLD, revert, discuss cycle essay suggests, you can open a discussion on the talk page at Talk:Cascade Range. After you start the discussion, I would advise you to use the {{Please see}} template on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Climbing & Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Mountains so that others familiar with peakbagger.com can comment. You can also note the {{Peakbagger}} & {{PeakBagger range}} templates. You should also use {{Wikidata entity link}} to mention the Peakbagger.com (Q28736250) item & the associated Pages that link to "Q28736250" search. Peaceray (talk) 03:54, 24 March 2026 (UTC)

Infobox Image Discussion of File:Nitin Nabin, National President of Bharatiya Janata Party meeting with the President of India, Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan (2025) (cropped).jpg

Thank you for restoring the previous version and for pointing to WP:BRD. I understand the preference for maintaining stability, and I’m open to reaching a consensus here. My intention in adding the newer image — File:Nitin Nabin, National President of Bharatiya Janata Party meeting with the President of India, Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan (2025) (cropped).jpg — was simply to explore whether a more recent and well-composed photograph of Nitin Nabin in an official setting (with Droupadi Murmu) might be suitable for the infobox. That said, I appreciate that factors like composition, clarity at thumbnail size, and how well the subject is centered can also influence suitability beyond just recency or resolution. I’m happy to defer to consensus on which image better serves the article, but I would request that the newer image be considered alongside the existing one so we can evaluate both on overall encyclopedic value. Please let me know your thoughts.

(PS: Also the original without cropped image may also be used with caption Nabin (left) with President of India)
