Met at the garden
I show up at these events for a few reasons:
- Free food
- Introduce more smart people to editing so Wikipedia gets better
- Chat with my old Wikipals
- Meet smart people who are fun to associate with
Maybe we can get together either at future planned group events, or just meet at a library or restaurant or other place where we can set up a laptop and Wi-Fi and explore the possibilities. That would be you and me, and we can invite a few friends on either side while keeping it small. Couple days ago I met with two other Wikiians in a study room at the Brooklyn Heights Branch Library to do what turned out to be mostly picture category work, and two of us dined nearby in the evening. It's a monthly thing. We could enjoy another session in the next few weeks in the neighborhood of your home or work. Meanwhile, you should keep on editing. Although Dave taught you quite a bit about Wikidata, probably you should work more in English Wikipedia where more people will be watching and can correct any little error in formatting and so forth. You could work articles about neighborhoods or gardening or whatever topic interests you and ought to have expansion or improvement. Jim.henderson (talk) 07:25, 16 November 2025 (UTC)
- Sounds good. Let me know when the next meet up occurs. Thanks. Pojonmacha (talk) 15:22, 16 November 2025 (UTC)
- No big meetings are likely until January. Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC will say if there is one. Something small is more likely. Jim.henderson (talk) 03:44, 19 November 2025 (UTC)
- sounds good. Looking forward to January meet ups. Happy new year Jim. Pojonmacha (talk) 00:24, 2 January 2026 (UTC)
- I'm slightly ashamed to admit that it took me more than a minute to remember you, User:Pojonmacha. As an instructor I meet splendid new people most every month. The next big meetup will be Event:Wikipedia Day NYC 2026 in Downtown Brooklyn with dozens at least; probably over a hundred. Before that, a few friends will meet in the evening, a week and a half from now at the Brooklyn Heights Branch Library. Stay tuned for further information. Perhaps meanwhile you should introduce yourself in your User Page, so the link won't be red anymore and fellow editors can know what you hope to accomplish.
