Speedy deletion nomination of File:South Korean National Assembly Impeaching Han Duck-soo (December 27, 2024).jpg

A tag has been placed on File:South Korean National Assembly Impeaching Han Duck-soo (December 27, 2024).jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file from a commercial source (e.g. Associated Press, Getty Images), where the file itself is not the subject of sourced commentary. If you can explain why the file can be used under the non-free content guidelines, please add the appropriate non-free use tag and rationale.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. charlotte 👸🎄 23:51, 29 December 2024 (UTC)

Information icon Hello, I'm Belbury. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, List of rediscovered films, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. An old archive.org file can't by itself tell us what happened to that file next. Coordinated editing or use of multiple accounts

Information icon Hello, PublicDomainFan08, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. Your editing pattern indicates that you may be using multiple accounts or coordinating editing with people outside Wikipedia, such as CMBGAMER 2018 (talk · contribs). Our policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow this, and users who misuse multiple accounts may be blocked from editing. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Ryan Borgwardt with his wife.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Ryan Borgwardt with his wife.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:25, 3 February 2025 (UTC)

File:Ryan Borgwardt in 2024.jpeg listed for discussion

A file that you uploaded or altered, File:Ryan Borgwardt in 2024.jpeg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for discussion. Your image uploads

Twice now you have uploaded an image of Ryan Borgwardt. In both cases, and also in other files you have uploaded, you have seemed to be under the impression that it's ok to upload non-free media because there isn't a free license equivalent available. This is patently false. Please read WP:NFCC #1, and note that it says "or could be created". We do not use non-free media in the vast majority of cases where it may be possible to get a free image that would serve a similar purpose. You should also read Foundation:Resolution:Licensing policy #3, where it discusses living people. We do not allow images like this. Borgwardt is alive, and even if he was in prison we would not be using a non-free image of him. So far, every image you have uploaded has either been deleted or, in the last case, about to be deleted. I would ask you to please reconsider uploading non-free images until you clearly understand our WP:NFCC policy and WP:NFC guideline. There's a lot to digest and understand. If you have questions, let me know. Thanks, --Hammersoft (talk) 01:22, 22 March 2025 (UTC)

I was told that involving the wife was what broke the rule, so I removed her so it wouldn't break it PublicDomainFan08 (talk) 01:23, 22 March 2025 (UTC)
That is one of the issues, yes. The issue I noted above also applies. Please do not upload an image of him, nor any other non-free image, without gaining a strong understanding of WP:NFCC and WP:NFC. --Hammersoft (talk) 03:37, 22 March 2025 (UTC)
Stuff like Wikipedia:Files_for_discussion/2023_August_18#File:Lucy_Letby_mugshot.png can happen, but it's rare. If Borgwardt gets life imprisonment, there might be a case. Otherwise, we wait until he steps in front of the right camera. You might find The Heroic Photographers Fixing Bad Celeb Portraits On Wikipedia interesting. My edits

I felt some assassination articles are far far too much detail discursive to the subject of this article. details about Lincoln are in the main article; this article needs to focus only on the circumstances of the attack, or details not appropriate for the main article -- see for example. Also, this is an article on every assassination attempt, not about Lincoln's last moments, the sheer amount of space devoted to the expression upon Lincoln's face when he died is excessive. The man was comatose, from the moment he was shot he was already dead. It would surely fit better on the Lincoln assassination article itself. 78.150.9.200 (talk) 09:03, 6 April 2025 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Kim Yong-hyun (general), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Combined Forces Command. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ  Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Wanted to thank you for your edits on South Korean politics. Your work has been really solid. Keep it up! grapesurgeon (seefooddiet) (talk) 23:09, 1 June 2025 (UTC)

You're welcome! It's interesting stuff so I keep up with it a lot. PublicDomainFan08 (talk) 23:12, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
As a heads up, if you're interested we have a channel for South Korean politics on the Wikimedia WP:DISCORD; a few Korean speakers (incl. me) there translate snippets of articles and stories that never appear in English language media. I don't edit much on current SK politics but I and others there follow it very closely. grapesurgeon (seefooddiet) (talk) 23:15, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
Oh I read South Korean articles myself. I tend to use translators to get the basic idea of what's being said. PublicDomainFan08 (talk) 23:17, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
Nice, sounds good. The channel is also nice to gossip and discuss what's going on as well. If you're ever interested you're welcome to join 🙂 grapesurgeon (seefooddiet) (talk) 23:27, 1 June 2025 (UTC)

Tweet image

Hi PublicDomainFan08, I just thought I'd let you know about Template:Cite tweet. Per this edit I replaced your tweet screenshot to the template for better accessibility. Although screenshots of tweets can be used on WP, the template is preferred as the profile images can remain copyright and often require removal. Exceptions apply when the tweet is needed for some additional context such as this image or others, such as those that contain a public domain image within the tweet for example. Regards, CNC (talk) 08:28, 12 July 2025 (UTC)

i figured that since the profile picture wasn't the main focus, and very small, I figured it counted as de minimus PublicDomainFan08 (talk) 08:30, 12 July 2025 (UTC)
It could well be as it's also not an image of Elon himself, but I'm not an expert in copyright stuff here. I was only letting you know about the tweet template for future reference for better legibility per mos:access, not much else. CNC (talk) 08:40, 12 July 2025 (UTC)
Alright, thank you. PublicDomainFan08 (talk) 08:41, 12 July 2025 (UTC)

And speedied. Fair use is not going to have a chance on this kind of thing since it directly competes with the commercial purpose of the image and it is the kind of thing photographers might bother taking to court.©Geni (talk) 20:02, 10 September 2025 (UTC)

While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, it's important to understand and adhere to guidelines about using information from sources to prevent copyright and plagiarism issues. Here are the key points:

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices. Persistent failure to comply may result in being blocked from editing. I believe I limited quotation enough. If it was much, it should just be edited rather than removed entirely. PublicDomainFan08 (talk) 22:41, 31 December 2025 (UTC)
If you are quoting a source, you need to clearly mark it as a quote by putting the text in quotation marks and attributing where you are quoting from. You can see the overlap between your edit and the source here (you will need to log in and then click "iThenticate report"). As you can see, there are sentences that have been taken directly from the source without any indication that they were intended as quotes. MCE89 (talk) 22:48, 31 December 2025 (UTC)
I know I did use some sentences. I'm just saying if it's too much for guidelines, the edit should be edited to be less like it rather than removed. PublicDomainFan08 (talk) 22:50, 31 December 2025 (UTC)
You're welcome to summarise the sources in your own words and add the content back to the page. Wikipedia can't host copyrighted material, which means that edits that violate copyright policy will sometimes be reverted. If you'd like to rewrite and restore your edit then please do. MCE89 (talk) 23:00, 31 December 2025 (UTC)
Yeah I can do that. PublicDomainFan08 (talk) 23:00, 31 December 2025 (UTC)

General sanctions notification

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in the Syrian Civil War and ISIL. Due to past disruption in this topic area, the community has authorised uninvolved administrators to impose contentious topics restrictions—such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks—on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, expected standards of behaviour, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

Additionally, the following restriction(s) apply to this topic area:

  • All articles in this topic area are under WP:1RR (a limit of one revert per editor per article per 24-hour period). When in doubt, assume an edit is related and so is a revert. Clear vandalism of whatever origin may be reverted without restriction. Reverts of edits made by anonymous IP editors that are not vandalism are exempt from 1RR but are subject to the usual rules on edit warring. Editors who otherwise violate this 1RR restriction may be blocked without warning by any uninvolved administrator, even on a first offence.

For additional information, please see the guidance on these sanctions. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Nicki Minaj. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Repeatedly inserting a political audio clip that you want to give visible significance to in the infobox of the article is tendentious, a violation of WP:NPOV/undue weight, and a violation of WP:ONUS as you've failed to seek consensus. List of photographs of Joe Biden moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to List of photographs of Joe Biden. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has no sources and is clearly NOT ready for main space. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. TheBritinator (talk) 03:15, 2 February 2026 (UTC)

I'm just asking this out of curiosity, why do they need a source when the pictures say and show what happened? PublicDomainFan08 (talk) 03:26, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
They need reliable independent sources to establish notability. TheBritinator (talk) 03:29, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
Alright. Though due to time constraints, I'm gonna need other people's help adding to the page, is the draft public? PublicDomainFan08 (talk) 03:30, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
Yes, the draft is public. TheBritinator (talk) 03:33, 2 February 2026 (UTC)

List of photographs of John Quincy Adams moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to List of photographs of John Quincy Adams. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and is clearly NOT ready for main space. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. TheBritinator (talk) 03:17, 2 February 2026 (UTC)

Yeah, understandably it'll be small. I made it because I believe every US president with surviving photos should have a "List of photographs" page, such as Obama and Clinton. Actually, I think that should be up for discussion. PublicDomainFan08 (talk) 03:32, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
A "list of photographs" page is arbitrary at best and most likely fails WP:NLIST, considering that modern presidents have thousands of pictures of them on commons alone. Individual photographs/paintings can very well be notable, but not this. TheBritinator (talk) 03:37, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
Yeah, I understand. I figured those pages could hold only the most significant photos of the presidents. PublicDomainFan08 (talk) 03:39, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
Again, unless you have several independent and reliable sources claiming that a photo is "significant", then you can't just determine that yourself, as that would be WP:Original research. TheBritinator (talk) 03:41, 2 February 2026 (UTC)

Introduction to contentious topics

You have recently edited a page related to living or recently deceased subjects of biographical content on Wikipedia articles, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

 Newslinger talk 07:19, 2 February 2026 (UTC)

Please be aware that WP:CT/AP (post-1992 politics of the United States and closely related people) is also a contentious topic. Thank you. — Newslinger talk 07:19, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
What page did I edit PublicDomainFan08 (talk) 07:20, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
Hi PublicDomainFan08, the above notice is regarding your edits on the article Nicki Minaj, which Lapadite objected to in the section #February 2026 and in this comment. In Special:Diff/1335350234, you added an audio file to the article that was reverted by Lapadite in Special:Diff/1335616161, but you re-added it to the article in Special:Diff/1335987888, which constitutes edit warring. Please use the article talk page to gain consensus for the inclusion of that audio file, instead. Per the WP:ONUS policy, "The responsibility for achieving consensus for inclusion is on those seeking to include disputed content." Newslinger talk 07:27, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
