The Task Center
Learn what Wikipedians do and discover how to help. Has a list of maintenance tasks you can do.
- Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
- It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
- If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue on the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
- Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
- When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
- If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
- Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.
Happy editing! Cheers, 🇵🇸🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦🇵🇸 08:54, 21 January 2026 (UTC)
Please be careful with Wikilinking
Please be careful when you are adding Wikilinks. Here , you added a Wikilink to the same article four more times after it was already linked. As a rule, the same Wikilink shouldn't be repeated in an article, or at most once per section, if there is a lot of text. And here , you took the phrase "ignored the recommendations of [[The Independent|the independent]] commission" and added a link to The Independent, a newspaper having nothing to do with the content. Thank you. signed, Willondon (talk) 17:02, 19 January 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for the note. I wasn't aware of this. I don't recall bypassing the recommendation for "Independent Commission". I'm not sure why it filled in the wrong one there. Still, I'll pay close attention. Purpledreams99 (talk) 17:04, 19 January 2026 (UTC)
2026 North Carolina Tar Heels baseball team moved to draftspace
Thanks for your contributions to 2026 North Carolina Tar Heels baseball team. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing as a live article at this time because it has no sources. I have converted it to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. WikiMacaroonsCinnamon? 00:30, 21 January 2026 (UTC)

- Hi Fiddle Faddle. Thanks for the note! There are multiple pre-season pages for college baseball teams- found here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:2026_Atlantic_Coast_Conference_baseball_season
- I was starting to create one in hopes that someone with more expertise could fill in the templates and rankings. If I submit a draft, does it just need to be more lengthy or is this just not permissible? Purpledreams99 (talk) 16:23, 21 January 2026 (UTC)
Drafts
Please note that drafts such as Draft:2026 North Carolina Tar Heels baseball team are not allowed to be filed in categories next to finished articles in mainspace, per WP:DRAFTNOCAT. Drafts must stay out of any categories while they're in draft, and may be added to categories only if and when the page gets accepted and moved into mainspace by an WP:AFC reviewer.
As the page has already had to be removed from categories by myself or other editors three times in just two days, do not readd it to categories again — and please note that there can be consequences for disruption, such as the page being locked so that you can no longer edit it at all and/or the temporary or permanent removal of your editing privileges, if the page continues to get put back into categories. Thanks. Bearcat (talk) 23:54, 22 January 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for that. I wasn't aware of the rules and just wanted to make it look more complete, so I added categories. I'll take this into account when creating articles in the future. Purpledreams99 (talk) 18:22, 23 January 2026 (UTC)
Article moved without preserving draft process
Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to change the title of Draft:AJ Gracia by cutting its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into AJ Gracia. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Fernando Mendoza, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Specifically, Wikipedia uses logical quotes with punctuation generally outside quotation marks (MOS:LOGICAL) —Bagumba (talk) 18:29, 10 March 2026 (UTC)
- Just read the guideline and see what you're referring to. Thank you. Purpledreams99 (talk) 18:52, 10 March 2026 (UTC)
Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively, you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Please read WP:NPOV. Attributed reception is perfectly fine. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 12:49, 25 March 2026 (UTC)
