Above that, you don't have any edit summary. Care to put on next time. Have you noted that we mostly try to avoid cluttering the reference lists (and source files) with repetitions of exactly identical references by means of the ref name feature? It is easiest to do this from the beginning, when you write new pieces of text; but it is also possible for another editor to merge the references afterwards. If you wonder how the feature works, you may look at this example (fixing some unnecessary reference repetitions recently added to the article Green Line (Kolkata Metro)). I think the example essentially is self-explaining; but note the slash (/) ending the repeated references, not the primary one. Regards, JoergenB (talk) 13:39, 25 August 2025 (UTC)

Yes, it's true that one has to find a name not already employed in the article. Adding a few letters for the source, and/or a few digits for the time, usually is enough.

I have no special advice with respect to the visual editor, since I never have used it. However, I'm sure there is some way to edit the ref name also with that editor. Best, JoergenB (talk) 14:17, 25 August 2025 (UTC)
