NPB edits

I appreciate the help editing NPB article, can always use the help! Unfortunately I had to revert some of your edits because of certain Wikipedia policies. For example, the logos on the Climax Series articles are protected and can't be uploaded to the Commons. Also, for Senga, most Western secondary sources spell his name "Kodai" not "Koudai", so the article should stay at Kodai Senga. --TorsodogTalk 23:03, 14 October 2022 (UTC)

Why are you so hung up on the abbreviations? The point is to abbreviate it so readers know what team is being referenced. In the box score, it says "SoftBank", but you changed the abbreviation from SOF to FSH. It is not immediately obvious what you are abbreviating and what it is referring to. --TorsodogTalk 18:47, 19 October 2022 (UTC)
I want consistency across all NPB pages. All of the other major sports abbreviations are consistent; why not NPB's?
This is what I plan on doing (I messed up on the Hawks there, I meant to do SBH and just forgot)

About RAKUTEN GOLDEN EAGLES icon vector

Hello i saw that you had put a alternative logo of the team in the page, you could update it to the main version that team uses on their uniform and website? its even more often used than the one you posted Meganinja202 (talk) 09:23, 11 March 2025 (UTC)

I think I know of a source, I just gotta find it. RingoSB (talk) 11:28, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
Actually no, the main version is what I posted. NPB used the primary means of identification for every team on their website. Yes, anniversary logos for a given year ARE what the primary means of identification are for a team that year. RingoSB (talk) 11:31, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
Pacific League as an organization recognizes the circle icon as the primary emblem, as shown on the sidebar of the main menu of their website as well. They also recognize the Tigers 90th anniversary logo as the primary logo for the Tigers for 2025, but I know others will say "we don't need to update for anniversary logos" so I just don't bother. RingoSB (talk) 11:41, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
They use as a kinda of aternative "shield" logo, but traditionally their main tend to be that one on the webpage, as it is used even on the uniform, also they always had used itsd their main for last 10 years or so
For tigers, japanese teams tend to use special logo for their anniversary seasons, as Giants used last year, so no problem with those as they will use this as their main logo for 2025 Meganinja202 (talk) 23:56, 14 March 2025 (UTC)
The problem I see with your logic is that if we used the wordmark logo like you suggest, then every Pacific League team would also use the wordmark logos, which is just not the case. They also use the shield logo as the means of identification on their game results (which is usually on their webpage but it's hidden in the match schedule as it's not the regular season yet)
The reason why I say I don't bother with the anniversary logos is because when I tried to input the anniversary logos as the primary logos for 2024, Torsodog was like "nuh uh, we don't need to update for just one year" and considering he's like the king of NPB wikipedia I just didn't fight it. RingoSB (talk) 00:13, 15 March 2025 (UTC)
its a more Eagles speciic case, also in some ways, other teams already do use their uniform wordmark in their mein logo, like we can see with Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks , Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters, Orix Buffaloes and Saitama Seibu Lions
not just on paciic, we can see it on big part of central league too
in anyways, the main reason that they likely created the emblem was beacuse of the cap (in diferenciation of the Rakuten Monkeys that use the R Rakuten logo) and the cap logo is already featured in the article pagge,so its better put the text logo that is more used on uniforms and website anyways, since it would complement the team page better Meganinja202 (talk) 17:24, 6 April 2025 (UTC)
