Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button
located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 05:39, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

Welcome and note
Firstly, welcome to Wikipedia! Hold on, I'll drop you some useful links that we like to give all newcomers (click "show" to see them):
Hello, Rkr1991, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- Tutorial
- How to edit a page
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
{{helpme}} before the question. Again, welcome! I noticed on your help desk post you came close to commiting one of the cardinal sins of Wikipedia (though not uncommon with newcomers to the site: neve abbreviate Wikipedia as 'Wiki'. It's just one of those things here. Anyhow, good luck, and happy editing. - Jarry1250 (t, c) 14:53, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

Barnstars
Hello,
I noticed that you left a message on at the help desk regarding Barnstars. If you would like to give one to somebody, I am willing to volunteer. If you are able to learn to give a Barnstar, I would be so impressed that I would give you one. (N.B. I have been told off for offering to give people Barnstars in exchange for Barnstars, so I cannot specifically offer to do this, but I’m sure you can read between the lines.) Also, if you want two Barnstars, I know that a guy called Spongefrog would also be very impressed if you could demonstrated your skills on him, and I’m sure he would also feel compelled to give you a Barnstar. Finally, as extra incentive, should you test your skills on us, you will be put on the Non-Shame list (otherwise consider yourself on the Shame List, which we aren’t allowed to make). Hope to here from you soon,

Barnstars
Hey there – glad to here from you.
I’ll try and explain this step by step (it’s not to hard, so if you can’t do it, it’ll be my bad explaining, not anything to do with you).
- 1) Click on this link WP:BARN
- 2) Scroll down a little until you see a table of Barnstars.
- 3) There are three columns – from left to right they have a picture, some programming text and an explanation of what the Barnstar is. Read the explanations (or if you prefer look at the pictures) until you find one you want to give.
- 4) Copy the programming text (from the middle column)
- 5) Go to the talk page of person who you want to give it to (i.e. me)
- 6) Paste the copied text.
- 7) Delete the word “message” from the text you’ve just pasted and replace it with why you’re giving the Barnstar
- 8) (optional) Write anything else you wish to say in the post as you normally would (anything before the random programming text will appear above it, and anything after will appear after it).
Hope that helps.

| I hereby award you this Barnstar for learning to give Barnstars ScribbleStick (talk) 05:44, 19 May 2009 (UTC) |
If you want to put this on your main page, go to “edit this page”, copy the
{{subst:Barnstar Barnstar| I hereby award you this Barnstar for learning to give Barnstars ~~~~}} above (or this one, but take off the </nowiki> signs )
Also, as I mentioned previously, if you talk to Spongefrog I’m sure you can find something to impress him enough that he too will give you a Barnstar (assuming you give him one as well).
Thanks once again,

| For being a new user who doesn't do that |
The best I could do for you. I think you deserve it, because there are so few new users who are not Sockpuppets or vandals. I made it especially for you (although that title is a quote from ScribbleStick).--Spongefrog (talk) 19:24, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
Hi there
Hi again – it’s been a few days since your message, so I don’t know if you still need help, but I’ll give it to you anyway:
- 1) Click on this link WP:UBX
- 2) If you want to create your own (new and unique) userbox, read it and od what it says (Note: I haven’t done this before, so probably can’t help you if you get stuck). Otherwise scroll down the very bottom of the page until you see one of those blue box things (if you don’t know what I’m talking about use this link Category:Userboxes
- 3) Click on one of the options you want to see barnstars for (e.g. humor, math, science etc.)
- 4) At this point is quite similar to using barnstars, there are three columns – one with a bit of computer programming, one with a picture of what the barnstar will look like and one which, if you click on it will give you a list of people who are using that barnstar.
- 5) Copy the bit of programming next to the usebox you want to use
- 6) Finally paste it one your userpage…
- 7) You might want to fiddle around with it to get the right formatting, but I’m useless at this, so will only confuse you.
- 8) Give me a barnstar (if you still want to)
Hope that helps,
