November 2025

Information icon Hello, I'm Patar knight. I noticed that you have been adding short descriptions to articles. However, the short descriptions you added are too long to be effective, such as at Valancourt Books v. Garland. The guideline is that short descriptions should ideally be under 40 characters long, and no longer than needed. For more information, see the short description guidelines. If you have any questions, please let me know. Thank you. -- Patar knight - chat/contributions 02:33, 11 November 2025 (UTC)

Good to know, I'll keep that in mind for future articles. Thanks! :) — Rtrb (talk) (contribs) 02:38, 11 November 2025 (UTC)

ArbCom 2025 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2025 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 1 December 2025. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2025 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:45, 18 November 2025 (UTC)

Fixing typos in talk discussions

Hello, @Rtrb! I wanted to let you know that I just now reverted your edit to the BFDI AfD. As a general rule, you should not edit your own comments, even merely to fix typos, except immediately after posting. See WP:TALKNO for more details. Thanks, and happy editing! guninvalid (talk) 03:02, 18 December 2025 (UTC)

Specifically WP:REDACT. guninvalid (talk) 03:03, 18 December 2025 (UTC)
I don't think changing that typo "deprives the reply of its original context". But duly noted for the future 👍

Non-free use of File:Gluck frame patent 1933.pdf

Thank you for uploading File:Gluck frame patent 1933.pdf. However, there is a concern that the use of the file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. Details of this problem, and which specific criteria that the film may not meet, can be obtained by going to the file description page. If you feel that this image does meet those criteria, please place a note on the file description or talk page explaining why. Do not remove the {{di-fails NFCC}} tag itself.

An administrator will review this file within a few days, and having considered the opinions placed on the file page, may delete it in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion or remove the tag entirely. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Ирука13 13:52, 8 January 2026 (UTC)

Just the first page is necessary so that makes sense. Would the patent figures that comprise page 1 of the pdf reuploaded at a reduced resolution suffice? — Rtrb (talk) (contribs) 15:09, 8 January 2026 (UTC)
I have no objections to using one non-free image in this article. However, it would be worth uploading in a different format. — Ирука13 12:56, 9 January 2026 (UTC)
