RustyBot tagging with Episode table convert template

Just to let you know, your bot has been tagging quite a few pages with the {{Convert to Episode table}} template even though they have already been fixed. I believe it was requested you use User:Alex 21/sandbox/No episode table, but this list is not necessarily always up to date, I believe Alex_21 updates it with some script every few months. I have been going through fixing templates in the category, but if his list has not been updated, then they will all be retagged. I tried to remove a few today that were in my watchlist, but they got tagged again already. You might want to wait until Alex_21 updates his list, otherwise the ~500 articles that I have fixed will all be tagged again. Ajheindel (talk) 01:37, 23 February 2026 (UTC)

@Ajheindel: Thanks for letting me know! I'm not planning to run the bot again anytime soon unless a run is re-requested. As a side note, I'm compiling a list of pages that have both a tag and the table at User:RustyBot/Pages using Episode table tagged with Convert to Episode table, though note this page does take a while to generate.
Thanks! ~ rusty meow ~ 06:18, 23 February 2026 (UTC)

Question from 67mangoboituffmustard (16:16, 26 February 2026)

hello rusty cat! so whenever i make a edit on something, does it have to be cited or at least noatable enough? like being covered by a news site? --67mangoboituffmustard (talk) 16:16, 26 February 2026 (UTC)

@67mangoboituffmustard: Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!
Yes, everything has to be cited and verifiable (except for well-known facts like "the sky is blue"), but you don't necesarily have to go as far as making sure every sentence is notable. Another way of thinking about that second part is that stuff is mentioned in an article that doesn't have it's own article because it's not notable enough it's own article.
As a side note, I read your userpage, and if you want to change your username, you can! Use either Special:GlobalRenameRequest or WP:CHU/S.
Happy editing, and feel free to ask again if you need more help/have more questions! ~ rusty meow ~ 23:55, 26 February 2026 (UTC)

WikiCup 2026 March newsletter

The first round of the 2026 WikiCup ended on 26 February. As some of you may have noticed, good article nomination reviews now receive 10 points, an increase from 5 points in the previous year, as per a consensus at WT:CUP. This point increase has been retroactively applied to all good article reviews for which competitors have claimed points in this round. Peer reviews, which continue to be worth 5 points, are now listed in the same section as featured article candidate reviews, rather than with good article reviews. Everyone who competed in round 1 will advance to round 2 unless they have withdrawn or been banned. No other changes to the round-point system have been made for this year.

Round 1 was competitive. Three contestants scored more than 1,000 round points, and the top 16 contestants all scored more than 300 round points. The following competitors scored more than 800 round points:

The full scores for round 1 can be seen here. During this round, contestants have claimed 7 featured articles, 16 featured lists, 2 featured-topic articles, 168 good articles, 13 good-topic articles and more than 50 Did You Know articles. In addition, competitors have worked on 14 In the News articles, and they have conducted nearly 700 reviews. The tournament points table will be updated within the next few days.

Remember that any content promoted after 26 February but before the start of Round 2 can be claimed in Round 2. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, feel free to review one of the nominations listed on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove your name from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Arbitration

  • Following a motion, remedy 9.1 of the Conduct in deletion-related editing case has been amended to limit TenPoundHammer to one XfD nomination or PROD per 24-hour period.
  • Following a motion, the Iskandar323 further POV pushing motion has been rescinded.

The Signpost: 10 March 2026

  • Special report: What actually happened during the Wikimedia security incident?
A horrifying exploit took place, which could have had catastrophic and far-reaching consequences if used maliciously; instead, it seems to have happened by accident and was used for childish vandalism. How did this happen, and what did the script actually do?

Question from Emeraldpilot (01:04, 11 March 2026)

Hello I am Emeraldpilot --Emeraldpilot (talk) 01:04, 11 March 2026 (UTC)

I want to know how to start a wikipedia group Emeraldpilot (talk) 01:05, 11 March 2026 (UTC)
@Emeraldpilot: Hey! Welcome to Wikipedia! What do you mean by a wikipedia group? I'm not sure what you mean so could you describe what you mean by a wikipedia group to me? Thanks! ~ rusty meow ~ 03:29, 11 March 2026 (UTC)
I was reading a line of entries on a random page where people were mentioning creating separate groups with Wikipedia users, I think chats, I honestly have no idea. Emeraldpilot (talk) 03:31, 11 March 2026 (UTC)
@Emeraldpilot: Are you thinking of a WikiProject which is a group of editors working together to improve a specific area of Wikipedia? Those generally aren't created, because there are already so many of them ~ you could search for one at this link.
Happy editing, ~ rusty meow ~ 14:27, 11 March 2026 (UTC)
