Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Mayoral elections in Norfolk, Virginia

A tag has been placed on Category:Mayoral elections in Norfolk, Virginia indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. Articles for Creation backlog drive

Hello SecretName101:
WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive in June!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than 1 month of outstanding reviews from the current 3+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 June 2025 through 30 June 2025.
You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.
Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.
There is a backlog of over 3200 pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:25, 20 May 2025 (UTC)

Autopatrolled
I came across Mayoralty of Joe Kernan while doing NPP, and was surprised that you didn't have autopatrolled. I see that it got removed for cause a few years ago, but that the sanction was subsequently lifted. I don't know that I can unilaterally return the right to you after it got taken as a result of a community discussion, but if you want it back, it might not hurt to ask at WP:AN. CaptainEek Edits Ho Cap'n!⚓ 06:42, 4 June 2025 (UTC)
- @CaptainEek should I request? On my end, the absence of the permission does not create any significant inconvenience. But for patrollers, is there a substantial addition un-needed workload being created?
- I know I create a good number of redirects (even more frequent creations than new articles or templates), but those are usually patrolled by DannyS712 bot III.
- If it makes sense to do it for the sake of patrollers, I am game to request. SecretName101 (talk) 06:49, 4 June 2025 (UTC)
- Well if you don't mind, then it might be better to build up another year or two of clean patrolled articles, but yes you seem to be fairly prolific and eventually you should try for it back if you aren't having issues creating articles. CaptainEek Edits Ho Cap'n!⚓ 07:02, 4 June 2025 (UTC)

Detroit mayoral elections
My apologies for using the word "runoff election" instead of "general election" on the 2005, 2009 special, and 2013 Detroit mayoral elections. Could you help me understand why you completely undid my revisions rather than simply substitute those words out? Thanks. PA Uploader (talk) 00:42, 17 July 2025 (UTC)
- PA Uploader, Because your infobox overhauls treated Detroit mayoral elections as having a two-round runoff system, rather than having a single general election in November preceded by a nonpartisan primary to select the two candidates to be on the ballot. The primaries in Detroit to narrow the field are primaries, not general elections. They determine the candidates for the general election if more than two decide to run. A new mayor cannot be chosen by the result of the primary itself.
- in runoffs, both rounds are general elections because an election winner could be determined outright by the result of either the first or second round. With runoffs, a second round only occurs when the first fails to produce a winner.
- we do not include the results of primaries in infoboxes for elections; only general elections.
- For example:
- for state and senate elections in California under its current primary system (all candidates run in the same primary, which winnows the field down to two) do not include the primary results in the infobox
- nonpartisan elections for mayoralties with similar nonpartisan primaries to narrow the ballot to two for general elections (Detroit, Boston, Milwaukee, Madison WI, etc.) only include the general election in the infobox. As do statewide nonpartisan offices with the same sort of primary (such as Wisconsin Supreme Court and Wisc. Supt. Of Public Instruction)
- with Alaska's current statewide election format where a winner-takes all primary narrows the field to four candidates ahead of an IRV general election: only the results of the IRV general election are listed in infoboxes
- SecretName101 (talk) 00:57, 17 July 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for the clarification. I will modify my edits to the page with that in mind. PA Uploader (talk) 01:00, 17 July 2025 (UTC)

Biden Vice Presidency
I want to tell you are doing a great job creating articles about vice presidencies of U.S. vice presidents. However, I do not believe that the category of Category:Vice presidency of Joe Biden is appropriate as it comes off as if Biden's tenure was not part of the Obama administration. And frankly, controversies or articles of significance related to Biden's tenure as Vice President should be in his own controversy and/or Obama administration controversy category or simply Biden's main category. WikiCleanerMan (talk) 21:16, 23 August 2025 (UTC)
- @WikiCleanerMan all aspects of Biden's vice presidency were part of the Obama admin, but not all aspects of the Obama admin were related to Biden and his vice presidency. This cat sorts the articles that are related to Biden and his vice presidency in specific. And it makes it so these categories are sub-categorized within Category:Joe Biden SecretName101 (talk) 01:26, 24 August 2025 (UTC)
- I do see your point. But some articles in there are not really related at all to Biden's vice presidency. WikiCleanerMan (talk) 20:33, 1 September 2025 (UTC)

Edits to Bruce Harrell
Hello,
Thank you for some of the edits to Bruce Harrell. I do appreciate adding neutrality to the page, especially during an election year when I have been dealing with that problem in other current elections here.
I did revert your change to the layout of the page. I have worked for over a year in creating, updating and changing the past 51 Seattle City Council members. In that time, I have created a layout which does include having elections separate from tenure, and each of the elections in their own subheading. Most if not all of these councilmember's pages, including Bruce's, were hot messes, and these layout gives a lot of order to it.
I'm going to remove the warning from the page as well.

I strongly object to the move of People's Party (United States) — the actual, legal, scholarly name of the organization — to Populist Party (United States), which was a slang name. As the talk page indicates, this matter was hashed out at Wikipedia 20 years ago. The page should be in the name of the formal organization, with the slang name as the redirect, rather than vice-versa. Let's get this fixed back, shall we? Speedy deletion nomination of File:Aldo A. DeAngelis.jpg

A tag has been placed on File:Aldo A. DeAngelis.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused duplicate or lower-quality copy of another file on Wikipedia having the same file format, and all inward links have been updated.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:40, 7 November 2025 (UTC)
- Hi SecretName101. I'm not sure why, but you uploaded the same file as File:Aldo A. DeAngelis official portrait, circa 1987 (3x4).jpg less than 10 minutes after you uploaded this. Wikipedia doesn't really need two of the same file; so, I've tagged the first one you uploaded for speedy deletion per WP:CSD#F1. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:43, 7 November 2025 (UTC)
- @Marchjuly Because they are not identical. The one you are tagging to delete is the full uncropped portrait (for use in his bio) , while the second is cropped to dimensions better-suited for use in an election infobox. SecretName101 (talk) 07:48, 7 November 2025 (UTC)
- My apologies to you then. The difference is so minor, though, that many are going to see them as being the same file. Perhaps it would help clarify things if you tagged the cropped one with
{{Extracted from}}. Both versions really be on Commons given their PD licensing and linking them together will help others avoid making the same mistake that I did. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:56, 7 November 2025 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Roswell B. Mason (master in chancery)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Roswell B. Mason (master in chancery) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, a group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content, or an organized event that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.

Roswell B. Mason (master in chancery) moved to draftspace
Thanks for your contributions to Roswell B. Mason (master in chancery). Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing as a live article at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted it to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. voorts (talk/contributions) 04:17, 11 January 2026 (UTC)

Bill Stevenson (businessman)
You originally created this article some years ago. Following Stevenson's high-profile widely reported indictment this week for the murder of his current wife, I have revived this previously deleted article and expanded it with this new information and some additional past information. Let me know what you think. Cheers! BD2412 T 22:54, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
- @BD2412 I think you did an alright and cautious job (seeking input before moving forward, working first from the draft space).
- I am horrified at the circumstances under which he has been elevated more concretely past the threshold of individual notability. This update from you is the first I heard the news.
- I will steer clear of editing it myself. I have no appetite for touching it, given the trouble my poor earlier judgement (in publishing it as an article in a very inadequate and incomplete state) caused me before, which resulted in me being on the receiving end of outright threats from the man himself, and receiving an indefinite Wikipedia topic ban on BLPs that was imposed for about one year.
- I think it is fine you re-used some of my earlier work, as it was not the reliability of sourcing or veracity of the info that was the issue, rather it was the outsized emphasis on his fraud convictions that was the crux (if I recall). SecretName101 (talk) 02:57, 6 February 2026 (UTC)
- @BD2412 I guess my only suggestions would be adding links for Castle County; liquor license; and Elsmere, Delaware.
- also, place the "These claims are fictitious, seemingly to sell and promote a book…” in a block quote template SecretName101 (talk) 03:02, 6 February 2026 (UTC)
- @BD2412: Maybe also add a link to bail directing to Bail in the United States, as it is not something all countries have the same system for SecretName101 (talk) 03:08, 6 February 2026 (UTC)
- I added the links, and substantially shortened and paraphrased the Jill Biden spokesman quote, as it is mostly not about Stevenson anyway. BD2412 T 03:12, 6 February 2026 (UTC)
- Alright
- one last thing, I just noticed something interesting when looking on XTools for the article.
- One of the accounts that edited the page previously is named Delawarebill, and I was wondering if it possibly could be Stevenson himself. Easy to determine that it clearly is, given an edit summary actually refers to Stevenson in first person pronouns (such as here .
- the account only seems to have existed to edit articles on himself. It made one deleted edit to create a long-since deleted article called Wm Bill Stevenson 3rd (deleted in 2010), and then was dormant until editing this current article four times in 2021 (https://xtools.wmcloud.org/ec/en.wikipedia.org/Delawarebill )
- Since Stevenson is banned on his other account User:DelawareFacts, it might be wise for someone to ask an admin to extend the same ban to his other account. Also, for the COI of having edited articles on himself. Also, sockpuppeting in using two accounts interchangeably
- SecretName101 (talk) 03:25, 6 February 2026 (UTC)
- I noticed that (in fact, the first edit from that account basically self-identifies him as such), but the account hasn't edited in five years, and I'd lay pretty good odds that Stevenson himself will spend the rest of his life as a guest of the Delaware penal system, so I'm not particularly worried about his returning to edit. BD2412 T 03:42, 6 February 2026 (UTC)
- @BD2412 understood. Also, re-reading the article, I noticed one typo. A word is missing at "deal with investors in which bought his brother's", leaving it unclear whether the investors of Stevenson bought the shares from his brotuer. Also, if you can find a source for the maiden name of his late second wife, that might worth adding with citation. Currently, the article only seems to have her married name. SecretName101 (talk) 15:20, 6 February 2026 (UTC)
- Typo fixed. Bafflingly, I can't find anything on the wife's maiden name, but I did find a source narrowing down their year of marriage. BD2412 T 19:53, 6 February 2026 (UTC)
- @BD2412 peculiar. Yeah, sometimes it is hard to find maiden names. Especially if the couple never took out a newspaper wedding announcement, or if the newspaper they did take one out in is not in digital archives
- Also, I would recommend clarifying that the 2000 Senior Games he participated in were the Delaware state competition, and not a national edition of the games SecretName101 (talk) 20:23, 6 February 2026 (UTC)
