Topic suggestion - college teams
Hi Swimmer33, hope all's good. Don't know if this interests you, but there are a bunch of women's college soccer programs that don't have their own articles, just redirects. Even some fairly relevant ones like Cal, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Mississippi State, Georgia. Like half of the major conference schools are just redirects, not to mention programs like Georgetown and Pepperdine. Surely they're all notable. Anyway, if this is in your area of interest, consider putting a small dent in. I'd be happy to collaborate too, maybe by starting coach articles to go along with them. (how are Colby Hale/Lori Walker-Hock/Nikki Izzo-Brown red links?) :) Best, Hameltion (talk | contribs) 22:18, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Hameltion,
- I've thought about working on these before but I just haven't seemed to make the time for them. I've gotten most of the ACC ones done and in a similar format so there is plenty of precedent for how to do them. I'm a little hesitant about the coaches as I've tried to make some of those in the past but they've gotten denied due to notability. After I'm done with this season's tournaments and the ACC men's teams that qualify for pages I will look to start on them. I have Cal on my list along with a few men's coaches.
- Cheers

- I definitely hear you about time... Continual props for the tournament articles which are so helpful. Hameltion (talk | contribs) 02:10, 7 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks! Its something that I've just kinda gotten in the grove of and its not too bad to get one done in 45 min to an hour. I should have some time this spring though. Last year it was all the tournament main pages so maybe I'll focus on the team pages next. The goal is to get all division I teams to have a main article right? I thought there was a list somewhere of to dos, but I didn't bookmark it. Swimmer33 (talk) 13:47, 7 January 2025 (UTC)
- Should've known there'd be a list. All D1's a formidable goal. Also, off the top my head, Bethany Balcer's Spring Arbor Cougars and Ava Cook's powerhouse Grand Valley State Lakers look to be notable. Hameltion (talk | contribs) 14:36, 7 January 2025 (UTC)

- Hey @Hameltion: Since we had talked about a backlog of work on women's soccer, I wanted to make you aware of the task force page. It has a lot of the teams you mentioned set up. I was considering going through the "needs work" section and cleaning that up a bit. It seems some of those pages just need minor work instead of major work and I thought that would be a good place to start. Also, do you think it would be useful to make something like this for the team main pages so anyone working has something to go from? Thanks for any input. Swimmer33 (talk) 17:29, 17 June 2025 (UTC)

WNBA draft templates
Hi, it seems like you are the most active person on the WNBA project so I thought you would be the best person to ask. I've noticed that for some WNBA drafts (2017, for example), there were three rounds in the draft but the associated draft template only lists the first two rounds. Is there any particular reason for that? Should the template be expanded to include the entire draft? Thanks. OceanGunfish (talk) 17:14, 21 May 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @OceanGunfish:! I've thought about that too, and my best guess is that for many drafts, most of the third round selections never make an appearance in the WNBA and therefore don't meet WP:GNG so they don't get pages. I've seen some comments elsewhere that seem to indicate that Navboxes/Templates with a bunch of redlinks aren't really accepted. As for the WNBA Project, @Mariacricket: has been amazing this year keeping up with most of it! I would be more helpful if she'd leave me anything to do! :) I would not object to anyone adding further rounds of drafts in the templates. Swimmer33 (talk) 18:49, 21 May 2025 (UTC)
