Introduction to contentious topics
You have recently edited a page related to articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practices;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Hello, I'm 5 albert square. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Danny Dyer, but you didn't provide a reliable source. On Wikipedia, it's important that article content be verifiable. If you'd like to resubmit your change with a citation, your edit is archived in the page history. If you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. 5 albert square (talk) 19:39, 16 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for clarification. I had limited time and bandwidth, due to time constraints, travel etc. to add necessary citations. I also haven't added such copy before, so was unsure of the process to do it properly. Talkwemada999 (talk) 03:11, 19 October 2025 (UTC)
- Also, I may return to the subject, if I find time, as I feel the biography might lean towards hagiography, without a little balance. A little peccadillo of mine, when I see a questionable personality being excessively lionised. Talkwemada999 (talk) 03:15, 19 October 2025 (UTC)
Please do not add or change content, as you did at BA Robertson, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources to see how to add references to an article. Thank you. Arbor to SJ (talk) 03:03, 27 October 2025 (UTC)
File names in articles
Please do not change the name of files in articles as you did to Jamie Lee Curtis. It breaks the link to the file. I have corrected the mistake. In the future, please use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show you what the article will look like without actually saving it.

It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. If you have any questions, you are welcome to ask on my talk page, or to post at the help desk for assistance. Thank you. Sam Sailor 13:24, 21 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hi! And thanks for the update. My enthusiasm for correcting the (twice) misspelled name of the subject outpaced my experience in editing. Thanks for correction. That's teamwork! Talkwemada999 (talk) 13:58, 21 October 2025 (UTC)
MOS:ENGVAR
Please do not change spelling/grammar unless you are sure that your change is consistent with the type of English selected for each article. I saw that you changed a word's spelling at Bernadette Peters (an American topic) to a UK spelling. See MOS:ENGVAR. Also, more generally, see MOS:VAR. -- Ssilvers (talk) 15:58, 22 October 2025 (UTC)

I have undone your dates changes at Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. Please see MOS:DATENO. -- Whpq (talk) 04:37, 6 January 2026 (UTC)
Terry-Thomas
I'm aware of extremely unpleasant and negative assertions in the career of this actor. I do not see the opinions stated as fact. Talkwemada999 (talk) 01:33, 10 April 2026 (UTC)
- Please initiate a discussion at Talk:Terry-Thomas. Edit warring here is considered bad form and not in a collaborative spirit. --Laser brain (talk) 01:47, 10 April 2026 (UTC)
- I understand bad form. One edit I made has been attacked three times. I started a discussion but can see no additions. As a fairly new contributor, having three editors attack my submission seems very non-collaborative and not at all appealing to new blood. Very off-putting, in fact.
