New 10,000 Challenge for Canada
Hi, Wikipedia:WikiProject Canada/The 10,000 Challenge is up and running based on Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge for the UK which has currently produced over 2300 article improvements and creations. If you'd like to see large scale quality improvements happening for Canada like The Africa Destubathon, which has produced over 1600 articles in 5 weeks, sign up on the page. The idea will be an ongoing national editathon/challenge for Canada but fuelled by a contest such as The North America Destubathon to really get articles on every province and subject mass improved. I would like some support from Canadian wikipedians here to get the Challenge off to a start with some articles to make doing a Destubathon worthwhile! Cheers. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:55, 22 November 2016 (UTC)

The World Destubathon
Hello. You're invited to participate in The World Destubathon. We're aiming to destub a lot of articles and also improve longer stale articles. It started today on Monday June 16 and will run until Sunday July 13. There is over $3300 going into it, with $500 the top prize. If you are interested in winning something to save you money in buying books for future content, or just see it as a good editathon opportunity to see a lot of articles improved for subjects which interest you, sign up on the page in the participants section if interested. Even if you can only manage a few articles they would be very much appreciated and help make the content produced as diverse and broad as possible!♦ Dr. Blofeld 18:43, 16 June 2025 (UTC)

Making a mess
Please stop messing with talk pages as you did at Talk:Rama, Saskatchewan and Talk:Yorkton. Newer comments go at botton of talk pages. Please sign your comments on talk pages. Please don't remove short descriptions, hatnotes, and references as you did at Yorkton. Please don't remove references and then add unsourced info as you did at Rama, Saskatchewan. Take your time. Ask questions. We're here to help if you are having problems figuring out how wikipedia works. Masterhatch (talk) 16:09, 2 March 2026 (UTC)
- You never even reviewed the changes. As far as I’m concerned you vandalized my updates. Stop reverting pages without talking in talk pages. Techgod (talk) 21:16, 2 March 2026 (UTC)
- I did review your edits. And, as explained above, they made a mess. Shall I review? You removed hat notes, removed short descriptions, messed with talk pages, broke references, removed references, added unsourced material, added poorly formatted references, put newer comments at the top. Like I also said, other editors (including me) are here to help and if you have questions or need assistance, please ask. Accusing me of vandalism by reverting the aforementioned problems doesn't help. Masterhatch (talk) 21:44, 2 March 2026 (UTC)
- Considering I am the one that created the articles perhaps you should review the articles and check and see if any of the references actually work anymore.
- you remove updated references, clearly verifiable information and updates bringing articles back to the mos requirements.
- touch another edit of mine and I’ll have your account reviewed. I see im not the first to deal with your trolling. Techgod (talk) 22:57, 2 March 2026 (UTC)

You should check out WP:OWN. And Wikipedia:Link rot: "In general, do not delete cited information solely because the URL to the source does not work any longer" and "A dead, unarchived source URL may still be useful. Such a link indicates that information was (probably) verifiable in the past, and the link might provide another user with greater resources or expertise with enough information to find the reference". And please don't threaten me. Besides not being nice, it doesn't look good.
I reverted wholesale because it was easier than trying to sort out the good from the bad. You are welcome to re-introduce updated references and info but may i suggest smaller, more incremental edits (that's in the MOS somewhere but i can't remember where)? Also clearer edit summaries help too. Thanks! Masterhatch (talk) 23:25, 2 March 2026 (UTC)
