Gary Woodland PGA Tour Courage Award
I assume this award is for 2024 in retrospect, maybe just announced a little later than usual. Wouldn’t make sense for it to be for 2025 given the season has only started. Jimmymci234 (talk) 22:45, 26 February 2025 (UTC)
NE Amateur: citations for Notes section
On the New England Amateur I included citations to substantiate why a tournament was truncated (usually due to weather) or what happened in a playoff. But is it possible to move these citations from the table to the Notes section? I would prefer if they were not in the middle of the table any more. I would also like to note, these citations should exist in some form as they usually are not the same as the Winner citations in the Ref column.

- Not quite sure what you are asking but you can have references inside the efn template used for notes. Tewapack (talk) 16:56, 24 March 2025 (UTC)
- I just noticed your edits; I guess you figured out what I was talking about. Thank you very much for your help!

Your revert on 2025 College Basketball Crown
Hello. You reverted the see also section I added on 2025 College Basketball Crown, leaving an edit summary indicating that the navbox already contains links to the other tournaments. I was aware of that, when I added the section. Nevertheless, roughly half of all readers access Wikipedia on mobile devices on which navboxes are not visible. It is reasonable to assume that we may soon find ourselves in a world in which mobile users will far outnumber other users. Considering how interrelated the CBC is to both the NCAA tournament and the NIT, a See also section with links to those tournaments would be useful to mobile users and prevent them from becoming frustrated. 2017 Masters Tournament numbers
Gene Hallman
Hi Tewapack. I saw that you were interested in sports and was wondering if you'd be willing to collaborate on the Gene Hallman page at Talk:Gene_Hallman. This is about a sports marketing BLP known for making Birmingham, Alabama a hub for hosting sporting events. I have a disclosed COI, so am looking for an impartial editor to participate, per WP:COI. Let me know if you have a minute to chip in. Carriepcoleman (talk) 16:13, 2 April 2025 (UTC)
Thank You RE 4-24-2025 Edits On 2025 Masters page
Greetings Tewapack ....
Appreciate whatever edits you made to correct the McIlroy-Rose playoff part of the 2025 Masters page. May I ask exactly what you did to get Rose's info to display correctly under McIlroy's?
BTW -- As you might have seen from reading earlier edit versions of the page, I had replaced the CBS Sports link showing final earnings because it was not very well organized and contain "unnecessary junk". The ESPN link is vastly better, certainly much more organized and informative, and should be with us for quite a while. It would be helpful if a way could be found to educate editors about the ESPN PGA-LPGA-Champions-DP-etc schedule links, as well as the individual tournament links.
Just one more -- do you sometimes find yourself asking if Wiki-language, even as good as it is now, could be much better? Same goes for HTML.

2025 PGA Championship: ESPN Scores Earnings and FX Points Reference link
Greetings ....
With the 2025 PGA Championship now finished, I was going to add a reference of ESPN's special link showing final scores, earnings and FedX points alongside the MONEY ($) fields in the Final Round portion. Unknown to me, someone else had already posted that link as a reference for other purposes in another portion of the page. As a result, I got a CITE WARNING for the duplicate reference, so I aborted the edit.
The problem is that I need instruction on how to properly cite the already posted reference more than once. You had previously helped me with an issue on the 2025 Masters wiki-page, so I'm hopeful you have the right solution for this problem.

Jimmy Wright: Results in major championships table
I recently created a Results in major championships table for Jimmy Wright. I added his results for his performances in the Masters, U.S. Open, and British Open. On his page, however, it only states his result in the PGA Championship for 1969; he played in the event an addition nine times. I know you work a lot on these tables and was wondering if you knew what his results were the other times he played it.

Junior wins
I noticed you recently reverted my deletion of Nick Taylor's junior wins. For me, a junior event is only notable enough if there is a blue link (e.g. U.S. Junior Amateur) for it. Future pros usually win a lot of junior events so I am careful about including them. What is our policy?
Chief disambiguator (talk) 02:05, 24 June 2025 (UTC)
- These are national and provincial level events. They are notable events even if they don't have articles yet. Tewapack (talk) 15:46, 24 June 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for this information. I will be sure to retain the state/provincial junior events. I recently created a page for Doug Barron. He won a lot of Memphis Golf Association (MGA) junior events. Do you think these city events are notable enough to be included within the Amateur wins section?

External links
I think I brought this up years ago with someone but forget the response. On Doug Barron's page we included his PGA Tour link in External links. We always seem to do this even the link is used within the body of the page (as is the case on Barron's page). Why do we do this? I think it should be deleted from External links.
Chief disambiguator (talk) 22:00, 17 August 2025 (UTC)
- This is the type of link that is allowed as both ref and el. Using the template also prevents link rot when the PGA Tour website changes the format of the link to player pages. One only has to change the format in the template and it propagates to all the pages but individual links in refs will need to be manually changed. Tewapack (talk) 18:04, 18 August 2025 (UTC)
Missing edit summaries
Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that one or more recent edits you made did not have an edit summary. Collaboration among editors is fundamental to Wikipedia, and every edit should be explained by a clear edit summary, or by discussion on the talk page. Please use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit and/or to describe what it changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.
The edit summary field looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
or in the visual editor:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. When logged in to your Wikipedia account, you can give yourself a reminder by setting Preferences → Editing →
Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary (or the default undo summary), and then click the "Save" button.

Tony Mangan's DOB
I recently created a page for the Australian golfer Tony Mangan. According this page he was 23-years-old in the middle of 1970. So he was probably born in early 1947. This idea is confirmed by this report here when he was a teenager. However, I don't have his precise date of birth. If you know anything please let me know.

Adding parameters to the infobox
In recent years I've had some conversations with Nigej about adding the a "Re-instated amateur career" and a "Second pro career" parameter to the infobox. However, these conversations have fizzled out. If you have any interest and motivation to help me out please let me know. I would do this myself but don't know how. I already have an extensive list of golfers that meet this criteria.

some Brae Burn citations
Hey, I have a little thing. I am trying to replicate some citations within the Scorecard section of Brae Burn Country Club. Citations #54 and #56 are same as are citations #55 and #57. Usually I just copy and paste but in this scenario it won't work. If you could help that would be great.

1958 Curtis Cup infobox
I am almost done writing the 1958 Curtis Cup page. I am trying to add an organization line to the infobox. (The tournament was sponsored by the USGA.) Everytime I try to do this it says, "Preview warning: Page using Template:Infobox team golf tournament with unknown parameter 'org'."
On Wikipedia, all other USGA events that I am aware of have this in the infobox. Basically it should work. If you could help me out that'd be great.
Thanks,
Chief disambiguator (talk) 20:23, 7 December 2025 (UTC)
- Unlike infobox golf tournament, "|org" is not a supported parameter for infobox team golf tournament. Tewapack (talk) 20:55, 7 December 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for the information. Just wondering, but why does this rule exist? And is there anything we can do to change it? I don't see why this parameter is exclusive to individual events and not team tournaments.
- Chief disambiguator (talk) 19:45, 8 December 2025 (UTC)Chief disambiguator
- You can ask User:Nigej who created the team infobox. Tewapack (talk) 19:49, 8 December 2025 (UTC)

I understand your concern, but I do not fully agree, because Kokona has become an LPGA member. I'm sure that she will prove you wrong about the accumulation of DNPs. Pantherat2 (talk) 06:44, 5 January 2026 (UTC)
A fox for you!

Tewapack, Just to let you know, I've inserted 700 images into Wikimedia, you are the very first person to suggest that knowing the year the image was taken is not helpful. Have a rethink.

PGA Tour Exemption Reductions Beginning 1998
Greetings Tewapack ... Hope your Friday The 13th is going well
This is in regards to your editing of my edits on the 2001 Players Championship page, especially your removal of the mention of 2001 PGA Tour Media Guide page 2-3 (which I now see should have actually been page 2-2) regarding player exemption categories.
The mention of page 2-2 (All Exempt Tour Exemptions) in addition to the Players exemptions on page 3-39 was included just to clarify the meaning behind the exemption period changes (1997-earlier or 1998-later) for winners of the Players, Masters, US and British Open, PGA Championship and World Series of Golf Tournaments.
I realize now I made an error in not adding a line below the final category in the Field section to briefly explain the exemptions. That line, which perhaps could have been displayed in a slightly smaller font, would have read something like this ....
NOTE: Beginning with the 1998 Tour season, exemption rewards for 1998-and-after winners of the Players, Masters, US Open, British Open and PGA Championship were reduced from ten years to five, while the World Series of Golf exemption was reduced from ten years to three. This change did not affect winners of such events prior to 1998. Please refer to pages 2-2 and 3-39 of the 2001 PGA Tour Media Guide for details.
A notation line of this type could be included in Players Championship pages for years 1999 thru 2007. For each year, one could make mention of the Media Guide for the particular year (as well as the proper pages). The individual categories in the FIELD section of each Players-Wiki page in question affected by the 1998 exemption change could also be updated.
If you should find my idea for an added notation line sound, you can add it to the designated pages as suggested. The references to the Media Guide can be modified to better suit Wikipedia norms.
