Managing a conflict of interest
Hello, Threeholedwonder. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Murder of Travis Alexander, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the Edit Request Wizard), including links or details of reliable sources that support your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Greyjoy talk 01:06, 12 January 2026 (UTC)
- I don't have an external relationship with the person. Thank you. Thanks for the recommendation. Threeholedwonder (talk) 01:11, 12 January 2026 (UTC)
- I see that you have labelled these two images: as being your own work, did you take either image? Greyjoy talk 01:15, 12 January 2026 (UTC)
- I helped enhance the pictures. That's my contribution. Doesn't equate me with having a relationship with the individuals. Threeholedwonder (talk) 01:23, 12 January 2026 (UTC)

Your recent editing history at Murder of Travis Alexander shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. This means that you are repeatedly changing a page's content back to how you believe it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree with your changes. Please stop editing the page and use the talk page to work toward creating a version of the page that represents consensus among the editors involved. Wikipedia provides a page explaining how this is accomplished. If discussions reach an impasse, you can request help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution such as a third opinion. In some cases, you may wish to request page protection while a discussion to resolve the dispute is ongoing.
If you continue edit warring, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, or whether it involves the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also, please keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule— if things indicate that you intend to continue reverting content on the page. - This applies to you too. Mister. Threeholedwonder (talk) 04:04, 12 January 2026 (UTC)
One of your recent edits has been removed in whole or in part, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for information on how to contribute your work appropriately. For legal reasons, Wikipedia strictly cannot host copyrighted text or images from print media or digital platforms without an appropriate and verifiable license. Contributions infringing on copyright will be removed. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously, and persistent violators of our copyright policy will be blocked from editing. See Wikipedia:Copying text from other sources for more information. Request reason:
It wasn’t my intention to make a report against the editor. He kept threatening to report me when I was simply discussing the copyright issues. I made the report against him to ask for clarifications. I was not at all trying to edit-warring. I was responding to other comments. I do understand the copyright policy on here better now. I think the indefinite block is harsh on me as a new editor.
Decline reason:
This does not convince me you understand you were completely wrong about copyright, and also tends to imply you don't actually understand WP:EW. In order to lift the block, we need to be certain that you understand how copyright works on Wikipedia. To allow the reviewing administrator to assess your understanding, please respond to the following questions in your next unblock appeal, explaining in your own words:
- What is copyright?
- How is Wikipedia licenced?
- Why is copyrighted content not allowed on Wikipedia?
- Under what circumstances can we use copyrighted content?
- How do you intend to avoid violating the copyright policy in the future?
Your answers will enable us to establish whether or not you should be unblocked. Yamla (talk) 12:53, 12 January 2026 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
- Beyond Yamla's response, what we just saw in that ANI report was several admins and editors telling you what the true issue was, and not only was your response was a complete refusal to imagine that there could be any reason to take down those images other than spite, but you persisted in arguing against everybody. This is a problem. We operate on consensus here, and if no one else agrees with you, odds are that they're right and you're wrong, and in any event that's how the decision will play out. If you cannot handle that principle, you're a poor fit for Wikipedia. Ravenswing 17:48, 12 January 2026 (UTC)
